I really loved the atmosphere of this game and the way the lighthouse progression is handled. The sound design is very pleasant and fits the experience nicely. Thanks for creating this — it was a great experience for me :)

The upgrade vs. enemy ramp up feels well paced, so there's a great feel to this progression wise! I really like the art style as well!

What an awesome game. The mood was pretty much perfection. The game loop was nice and the game was easy to learn by playing. Well done!

Without even going into this being your first game jam, what a clever gameplay loop. I love how everything you do interacts with the same core systems of the light house and I had many "ahh thats so cool" moments while playing. Art is very nice and simple and overall feels like such a nice package.

And then its your first game jam and wow. Very good job in scoping and making such a polished clever game.

This was great! It was very simple but well executed. I wish that it was a bit easier to tell when fishing time was up and it was time to get back to the lighthouse, but overall really nice! well done

nice game :)! The viusals were cool also nice system with the enemys and the shop is very well thought through.

I didnt really feel a difference when upgrading my boat idk it was hard to steer for me maybe that was a bug idk.

Anyway I really enjoyed it :D

Nice game! Congrats on your first entry, really cool! I liked to play your game and your art style is nice. I did have a hard time catching the fish, I couldn't really figure out how to catch them fast enough. It seemed like I needed to sail over them to catch them; I kept missing them. So my light house didn't survive, unfortunatly. But it was a nice play. :)

This was lovely, the loot-upgrade loop reminded me a lot of Dome Keeper, the sounds and the atmosphere were amazing as well, great job!

This is my favourite so far! The sound, art, gameplay and atmosphere are all beautifully in alignment! I loved being able to convert my fish into some delicious upgrades to protect my lovely lighthouse!

It was kind of embarrassing to buy a victory in the game( But I actually won on my own, thank you

This is really cool! Very unique feel for what sorta boils down to tower defense. I love the minimalist art and the gentle little sounds. It all works really well together, and the loop of the gameplay was satisfying. It took me a bit to get used to driving the boat, and it never really felt easy per se, but I eventually got the hang of it enough to finish. I liked balancing the need for upgrades to survive with the need to save up fish to win the game. It led to some tense moments that played nicely. Great work, thanks for the game!

Liked the visuals: simple and clean pixel art. The boat was pretty difficult to control. Was surprised to see that up and down was actually up and down instead of forward and backward, and that left and right were move left and move right instead of turn left and turn right.

What a cute lil lighthouse! I really like the simple artstyle, it's both charming and moody and really makes you feel like you're alone in a huge dark ocean. I like the gameplay loop too, trying to balance efficiently gathering fish with having the tools to defend yourself.

I found the boat pretty frustrating to control - I know that's part of the challenge, but even with an upgraded boat I felt like I was slipping on ice, and that kind of turning makes it annoying when trying to gather tiny little fish in the dark. The very small view radius doesn't help when you're venturing far from the lighthouse. On that note, the time between waves is very tight, and again even with lots of upgrades I often barely made it back in time - which can be a death sentence when the higher health enemies start coming. It felt like I was blindly stabbing out into the dark looking for tiny fish with no chance to make it back before the wave started. I think some tighter boat controls and a bit more leniency there could go a long way (and maybe some sort of radar to help with finding fish?)

Great work, especially as a solo project! The atmosphere and core loop are great, and I think you've got a great foundation here :)

Really appreciate all of the feedback so far

Should probably note that I "broke" the ship turn speed upgrade by making it increase at a negligable rate  I had issues with scaling it too high and balancing happened late so something was bound to be missed

This was a really fun game; I liked the two alternating phases of gameplay and the good conflicting choices I had for upgrades that affected my strategy. It made me want to play "just one more time" to try another upgrade path; it felt great to find better strategies that let me survive longer. The sounds set the mood wonderfully. Great job, especially for a first jam!

I played thinking it was an endless game. Then I saw on the friend above that there is an end.

I'll save the game here to try again later.

A really cool idea to combine two types of gameplay: a collectible game and a survival game. It was a really great choice.

I found the boat's movement strange. I know it has those skids that boats use, but it's difficult to control. Actually, it's hard to aim the boat to the place you want. In some directions, I had to keep pressing in alternating directions for it to go where I wanted.

Overall, it's a really cool game. I reiterate that I saved it here to finish.

Congratulations!

Very nice game! especially for a first jam so congratulations! your art is simple enough and gameplay loop is very satisfying! balancing is pretty good except for the rotation speed but as you said, something was bound to be missed! anyway I had a lot of fun, thank you!

The progression in this game was great! Going from barely seeing in the dark to lighting up the night sky and poppin' monsters like it was just another Tuesday. The gameplay loop was well implemented, essentially a zombie wave survival game, but with a lighthouse! Was a fun dynamic to zoom around fishing and then come back to the lighthouse for manual aiming (if needed). The simple graphics worked well for a clean aesthetic, and the audio helped set the atmosphere.

Not sure if the boat had health or not? By the end I was letting the lighthouse autospin and zooming around (which was super fun), but that might be one more extra layer of balance. The boat controls did feel a little weird, even with upgrades, but was still fun! It'd be nice to have a slight UI change (ie. gold color, star) to know when an upgraded was maxed out, and some of the audio pops were a little harsh in my headphones.

Played this way longer than I should, because it was that fun getting all the upgrades! Great job!

Congrats on your first game jam game! It's very nice! I liked the graphics. The fish were a little to small in pixel size though. I think that's why they feel a little off in aesthetic. But overall very nice game, especially for the first game jam game!
