It's a cool game, and I really enjoyed it! By the way, we used the same pavna). There are a few things that need improvement. Not all the sounds are controlled by sliders, and some of them were still loud at low settings. There are a lot of yellow cubes in the last level, and it can be confusing to determine which one is new. The old lines might need to have their brightness reduced or their color changed. Well done!
Wow the SFX are insane!! Very trippy, I loved the zooming effect when grappling. I would love to see the game more polished.
Great concept, I liked the visual part of the game, also mood and the sound effects are on point! Enjoyed playing it :)
Really nice audio work and overall pretty chill visuals and gameplay, good game, enjoyed my time with it!
I love these kinds of games. Really awesome environment and atmosphere you have going on here.
For the most part the game plays smoothly too, there is some kind of weird hiccuping going on for me with the end of grappling (and in general grappling feels a bit odd)
The levels themselves have this mysterious atmosphere to them which is very enjoyable to be in. The level-design aspect of the levels could use a bit of work though, but I think you did such a great job at creating a place thats fun to be in (using textures, art, SFX, fx, etc.) that its not that big of a deal imo.
Great job!
Great game, and the movement feels really good. It’s not particularly difficult, so you could probably add more puzzles using the grappling hook. But as a meditative journey, it works wonderfully. The sound design is excellent!
The atmosphere in this is great! The levels have a nice sense of scale and look fantastic (though some sections maybe felt more empty than others). I do think the gameplay has a bit of missed opportunity, though; the grappling mechanic is fun, but I was never at any risk of failure. The discrete levels connected by teleport pads also hurt immersion somewhat. Overall, though, I really enjoyed my time with this!
Travelling through such a jungle-like environment is a pleasant experience. However, the occasional sudden camera cuts do somewhat disrupt the experience.
Wow, what a serene experience. I had to fix some GPU issues on my end to get the game running properly but it was worth it! The controls are really user friendly, especially the HUD showing the distance to the fireflies which can be relied on on top of the sounds. The grappling and the RMB zoom both felt smooth and enjoyable to use. I thought it would have been nice if the puzzle designs were more difficult. I saw hints of new puzzle mechanics being introduced (e.g. grapple to a cube to get the next firefly that can't be reached otherwise) but it didn't become developed very far. But it's lovely!
Wooow cool stuff! The atmosphere is really nice, I love the weird boxy trees and cicadas. You have a good eye for color as well! Actually I think this game would look really nice with some slightly weirder lighting to make the lighting as weird as the rest of the game, visually... maybe vertex lighting or some other custom solution? The game was fun albeit a little simplistic - I would have loved if the grapple had a swinging arc mechanic or something or if you had to chain multiple grapples together. The player controller is a bit stiff as well and could use some light acceleration blending and whatnot to make it feel smoother. On the design side it seems the game rotates between collecting fireflies and then grappling, but these two separate activities rarely played off of one another besides the firefly unlocking the next grapple point... I just wish there was one more gameplay element that tied everything together, I think. Maybe if the game was not linear, fireflies could be scattered around a small open map, with certain areas obviously blocked off, and you must find the fireflies to unlock grapple points to access new areas, and then finally you find green fireflies or something at the end of each hub-and-spoke that help assemble the final path at the end or something? Idk, just spitballing! You were absolutely flexing on us with the sound design though, the game sounds fantastic. Really nice work, I played it all the way through!
Gotta echo what other people said here, you did a very good job with the game feel, the visuals, the controls, the camera movement, and especially the audio. I was always able to find the next place to go with the audio, so nailed that aspect of the game. I liked the rhytmic quieter sounds that accompanied each wisp too. The visuals work really well. Hopefully you have time to rate more games so you get your 20 required votes, I'll be curious to see how this does! Great work!
great atmosphere and nice audio :)
The soundeffects are so satisfying, what a mood, super nice, gameplay is very simple but I like it, its just so satisfying. I played the post-jam version after, but that felt more laggy, still very cool visuals tho :D
Love the mood and the gameplay. The ambiance is really cool :)
Very cool! I played the jam version. I thought the ambience was great, the audio was awesome as well, I love the way the little ball of light calls out to you and gets louder as you get closer (I played with headphones - it seemed like it also signified what direction it was in?)
It all felt super intuitive as well, was easy to just pick up and play and know exactly what I needed to do. Good job!
Nice mood, good visuals and sound. Fine game.
Played the 2.0 version. That was an amazing experience. It felt like Flower met Mirror's Edge. Loved the lofi-crunchy graphics and beautifully smooth audio design. Witnessing the orb travel to the player's next goal was a great touch, helped orient direction in the environment.
The moment that really clicked for me was when I had to use two grapples to swing through an orb to progress. Now we're thinking with grapples!
Only note I'd say is that it felt like the grapple was more of a slower-than-light teleport, instead of feeling like Spiderman or Tarzan swinging through the jungle. FPS dipped a bit in the web build at times. Otherwise, loved the aesthetic and vibe of the game! RIP JBS. Condolences.
Up until now this is my favorite game of this jam, incredible work in this short time frame.
