The visual are insanely cool, ESPECIALLY animations and characters! The white one with glasses is my fave :3 The gameplay was super stiff tho, fights are getting boring really quick
Loved the mood and the art ! Animations are a nice touch, even if they're not finished ! I found it quite difficult though, I died twice without really understanding what I could have done differently haha. The puzzle part is also really nice !
For those who having an issue running on firefox, a chrome-based browser works just fine :)
@eklbirifine I wanted to implement several things to spice things up but no time left so we all end up waiting instead of using cool combos :(... You convinced me to patch out the waiting part of off combats so that at least it gets done quicker, thank you for your comment !
@damyyr thanks for the warm feedback ! we should definitely have had more hints at the beginning to guide players. Basically some cards give buffs, 3 will give you a new team member and 2 will give you a defensive and offensive move to perform during combat.
It took me a long time to click around and figure out how to get to the fight, but then in the fight there was nothing I could do, and even trying what seemed like lower level enemies, my hp didn't replenish and I didn't level up, so I have no idea what I was supposed to do.
I wish I had the option to go full screen in browser. I had to really zoom in to see what I was doing. Once I did I could progress a bit further into the game! Some UI elements are still too small, like the player's health. BTW, the ludum dare embeded builds dosn't work on chrome. So I sugest you also upload it to another site like itch io
nice work!, great story!.
Game bagged two times and i couldn't play:( But animations are so beautiful and fresh!
Took a bit to understand what was going on and the UI is a bit rough, but once it got going it was pretty fun. Loved the battle animations!
Looks very interesting, couldnt understand why i can enter some cards and others cant, also would be nice to somehow influence fights, good job!
The UI is a bit confusing and it wasnt entirely clear why you can swap some cards and enter others but not all or what the ruleset was in general. I like the round based fighting system, but found some UI elements to be flashing too frequently, making me a bit dizzy. The character drawings could have been more fleshed out, but I really like the concepts you were going for
Game looks interesting but confusing at first. Agree with comments above about swapping, able/unable moving mechanics and UI during fights. After figuring out the movement easily beat the game
I'm a bit confuse with the machanism of the game.
I enjoyed this one. I died once before finding the King that told me how to actually fight, and then the other how to defend. but "YOU WON amazing, now get out!!"
A very complex design for a jam game so, well done, but also probably a bit too much. Same with the UI: it has a lot of features, which is great, but it's super rough.
All in all, probably over-scoped, but it's there, it's playable, and that's what makes a game jam so great - you can make a game and it doesn't have to be super polished. So, honestly great job! (PS, love the fight animations)
Had a bit of a hard time understanding how the game worked at first but it becomes interesting once you understand it ! I liked it, tho I didn't manage to finish it.
Unfortunately, I only experienced the battle animation once, and after that, I could only exchange cards here. However, it seems that nothing works? I can't enter any cards by clicking, very confused.

@yibirabbit007 You can enter any card that is linked to cards you already entered. So in you screen you could have entered either the top-right Jack or the left King card (use "Flip cards" you'll understand why some of them cannot be entered !).
In your case you were not stuck but if you were, you can swap cards by selecting two of them and use "Swap cards"
Yo this is fire.
It's clear you ran out of time on some stuff, but the depth here and polish for what you have is already pretty great. I really hope you keep working on this post jam, there's a lot to like.
I ended up dying and wasn't really sure how to gauge the threat level of a tile, maybe I missed a UI element for that?
Honestly feels like there's a lot of depth I'm not getting due to either lack of a tutorial or lack of interface elements.
Amazing work, I hope to see more!
Nice work with an interesting concept! It could use some quality-of-life improvements- at first, it’s not very clear what the player should do. Animations are really beautiful!
