LOVED the atmosphere!!! Really cool execution. Found myself literally tensing up (which is amazing considering this is such a short game jam!)

The atmosphere rocks! The controls were smooth and I like the minimalistic approach to controllers. Nice that you force players to explore every corner to find keycards behind crates etc. "Scary, but you have to". Two things: there's a smaaaall quirky sound when the atmosphere sound effect loops, and I wish you were able to move just a little quicker (with a stamina meter maybe?). Otherwise a really great mood for a game - great job!
Cool atmosphere! Shooting feels pretty good
Very absorbing atmosphere, impressive!
I love it atmosphere a lot!!!This game is one of the most impressive games in ld 57 for me, especially the level design.
But maybe I could give you some suggestions I guess. I encountered an enemy at an end of aisle and I only can get back to the start point to play again, maybe you can add some checkpoints? Like near the gun lockers or the first gate with lv.1 key. Besides , maybe add a key (Like L_Shift) to boost is a good idea, current player move speed I think is a little bit low!
Overall, this game is fantastic, maybe one day It can be hot sale on steam!
Love the vibe & your voiced intro ! really puts you into the mood for some alien exploration 👽 how do you get that light effect? is it just with normals ?
@aeoncl Thanks! We used Godot's built in Light2D.
Nice game! I really like the gun locker puzzle. It would be nice if you could restart on last completed level to avoid starting all over again.
@betovf Thanks! Yes, checkpoints would have been nice but we were running out of time.
I loved the atmosphere and the password puzzle ! If you feel it, I really want a sequel :D
The atmosphere here is so good! The intro narration, the sound design, and the lighting are all spot on!
Only downside is I found it hard to play as the character moved a little too slow for my taste. I got sent right back to the start after dying and didn't have the patience to walk back to where I was.
Wonderful atmosphere! I definitely jumped when the first enemy showed up. Gameplay-wise it's nothing especially engaging - just slowly walking around and clicking if an enemy shows up - but the ambience made up for it, I think. A fun little experience overall.
Awesome mood with the lighting and sound. I couldn't help but laugh every time the monster's scream was cut short when shooting them. I guess my only complaint is I wish I could move a little bit faster.
Really fun! You had me trying to bruteforce that locker for way too long haha. The lighting is so good, you had me checking EVERY corner multiple times lol.
Some really minor technical feedback:
1) there's a "clip" sound when the atmosphere background SFX loops (pretty common), so it would've been better to make that loop longer to avoid how frequent that "clip" artifact happens (a "better" solution would be to fade out the sound in the loop so when it restarts, it would end up fading in instead of starting the sample at a high amplitude, which causes that 'clip').
2) when the first enemy spawns, there's a hitch for loading resources. Could be because the audio asset is being loaded on demand - should having settings to have it Preload to reduce that hitch.
Great job!!
Hey i like the idea to mix escape and shooter game. Cool introduction with voice dubbing it put you instantly in the mood... I would have liked a little more content but well done for finishing this version :)
Really cool voice acting on the intro, definitely contributes to the overall mood.
The walking was a little slow, which isn't an issue ... until you get killed by the first monster, and you have to redo all over again. (Maybe it's supposed to contribute to the fear of getting killed?)
Love the atmosphere ! Lightning is really on point, I struggled a bit with the movements a the beginning, but other than that nice entry, well done !
Perfect horror mood, I love the atmosphere and how it kept me on my toes the whole time I was sure you're going to spawn an enemy in a path I've already been through and that alone kept me terrified lol, nice use of anticipation.
The sounds are creepy and the art is simple but clear, I wish there were more levels, I'd totally play this if you do a full release, 5/5 mood.
It's such a great game! I love the horror mood you've put into it, it works wuper well. The first time I died in the game I almost had a heart attack. The only thing that could be nicer is to make the character walk a little faster but else it is very nice. It's funy because we also made some kind of horror game playing with the lights, if you feel like checking it out.
The mood in the game is excellent! Sounds, intro and overall look is superb.
However, there are few gameplay points that I would like to note: - Game would benefit from checkpoints. It is quite frustrating to die rather late on the level, just to replay. - Also if you happen to fire too many bullets, then you know you are out of luck, but technically not lost yet. - The character feels too slow to move, making it a bit frustrating. The move speed compared to the level size is not ideal.
This was so much fun! Peeking around the corners in anticipation of hidden loot or a jumpscare really made you want to keep exploring, and the SFX and intro narration fit really well with the mood/style of the game. I would definitely play more of this, especially if there were more puzzle elements like the gun locker combo. I found myself reaching for shift to make the character run faster -- I feel like adding the option to run would be fantastic in addition to the slower walking pace, cause I did quite like the slower pace for adding to the tension or when you want to explore a new area carefully. Awesome job overall!
Pretty amazing to create an atmosphere in such a neat little package. Only wished I could have run from the monsters a little faster :D
Wow, really nice little horror game! Loved the atmosphere and the gameplay. Also felt myself clever after figuring out the gun lockers puzzle :D
Great atmosphere with this lighting. The enemies are really surprising, but it gets a bit annoying because they kill you so easily and you need to restart everything from the beginning.
Uuuuhh moody, scary, fun exploration game. Really cool use of Godot shadows, it almost feels like a showcase of how to use that feature well. And it fits perfectly here. There are puzzles, you have to find keycards to open doors, even some jumpscares haha. Really well done!
Love the atmosphere, but pacing is not very good, too slow for me. I don't know if it was on purpose but i like that when u encounter mosters they look opposite side from u and than turn around quickly, it looks more dramatic and scary) sound is good, and sure little puzzle is smart too)
Oh I wanted this to keep going! On the other hand, hats off for picking a jam-appropriate scope, and polishing it. Very nice atmosphere. I hope you're expanding on this in a post-jam version!
i like the idea!
