Nice Game, but you could have made more interactive tasks like in among us, it would made the gameplay more fun. But I really loved the story and the ambiance of the game!

I liked the space effect and the planet shrinking in the distance.

There wasn't a whole lot of "game" in the end though. Just walking to the same 3 objects and pressing E.

It was cool! A bit too short, but its a jam after all. Awesome game!

peppersalt07 2025-04-08 07:39

Oh I love short and simple games whose whole purpose is to tell a story. I love how the loading bar gets slower and slower and you dont really notice it on day 2; I love how surprising having the connection again is. Aside, I did come across some control and screen flickering issues, and i think there's something going on with the mouse capture. Overall it's really sweet, good job :3

I love the setup of this. Just chilling on your ship while your home slowly fades off into the distance. It has a very "pale blue dot" vibe. Music would have really helped with the mood (even some off-the-shelf music). The twist at the end was neat. I wish there was a bit more either in between or afterwards, though I like the ambiguity of the final moments.

I found the game very jumpy, as in, moving the camera around would jitter a lot, also the shadows were very low definition. Could it be that the earth is the origin in 3D space and the ship is flying away from the earth, thus the player is subject to floating point rounding errors as you get further away? If that's the case, look into origin shifting: here's a recent video on this topic: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aXQw-UVmInE (the earth should be moving away from the ship, which rests in place at the origin). If not, then I'm not sure what's causing that.

@matt-giuca Thanks a lot! The entire action takes place at the center of the world, and the planet isn’t actually moving anywhere. The lag issues are related to shader compilation when new objects appear. Unfortunately, I couldn’t find a quick way to fix them since I was using a new engine I’m not familiar with.

Overall the game is good but it would be better if there were more tasks to do.

I went through the game and I understood the message the authors wanted to convey. But the gameplay of the game is very boring. The game can be played with an autoclicker to automate the process of going here and there. But still, I liked the idea. Thanks for the game!

The interaction design is simple, but it fits the narrative really well. I think this is a very promising idea. If sound effects were added (there didn’t seem to be any audio on my device), the overall experience would become even more immersive! For example, more atmospheric background music, sound effects when checking the greenhouse or the engine, and during the report phase—like receiving Earth broadcasts at first, then gradually getting interference, and finally only picking up sounds from the cosmos. These are just a few sound ideas that came to mind right after I finished playing—maybe you’ll come up with even better ones if you think more about it :)

I also noticed some comments suggesting that you add more tasks. I think that could definitely enrich the game, but there’s a lot to consider here. In my experience, the most impactful part was the duration of the report and the feedback received—it beautifully conveyed a sense of loneliness and uncertainty in space exploration ,as well as a philosophical flavor of where I came from and where I am going. Because the interactions are currently quite minimal, that feeling stands out strongly. So whatever tasks you choose to add, I hope they will enhance that experience rather than dilute it.

A simple but interesting walking simulator. I really liked the plot — even without many rooms or much action, it kept me engaged. The only issue was the sound; I think a subtle, repeating ambient noise could really support the atmosphere and concept.

captandrey 2025-04-09 21:18

Simple and fun! The game length felt just right for the mechanics — better to keep it short and sweet than stretch a single idea too far. The “walk backward instead of turning” mechanic might’ve been intentional, but it felt a little awkward to me in this context.

The game would really benefit from some music to enhance the mood but still an enjoyable experience that makes the player think for a bit.

olenikimid 2025-04-10 08:58

Shame there wasn't any audio for this because I think it would really enhance the feeling of isolation and soul-crushing routine the game evokes. Obviously if you had more people and time working on this, you could flesh on the narrative and story a bit more - or better yet, make the "check engine" and "check greenhouse" tasks more like a puzzle that you solve, instead of "press E to check"

But hey! It's a one-person game so it's a lot of work to do everything yourself. It also looks like your first submission to Ludum Dare, so it's a good start!

sharky3188 2025-04-10 09:02

Very simple game, would love to see the basic premise expanded upon in some small ways to give more weight to the gameplay. The story absolutely captured an interesting atmosphere that fit well with the theme, I think expanding upon the interactions in the room would have been a chance for more story telling elements. As a solo dev well done.

keith-wang 2025-04-10 11:13

Simple but good concept and a funny little plot twist in the end.

lollister 2025-04-10 17:20

Quite simplistic, but I appreciate the effort. I'd love to see more content in the future! The hyperspace jump effect actually reminded me of my own entry – we were really proud of it. Keep up the good work!

bjornstenlund 2025-04-10 17:24

Huh, so simple and yet strangely captivating. I really appreciate the storytelling without walls of text! Obviously it's not the most enjoyable game I've tested so far, but still (besides missing sounds) I think it's pretty much perfect as it is.

I'm honestly super impressed

edit: haha I keep leaving this page, and then going back and upping the grades

hdvr02 2025-04-12 06:52

Not a bad mini-game, I would like to see more quests and some challenges for the player in the future

noagard 2025-04-12 16:18

Nice atmosphere, it's rare to see games about space in this jam. Loved the ending and the mood overall :) Some atmospheric soundtrack will be a good fit for this project.

incd021 2025-04-12 16:23

Loved it, simple graphics, but enough to make me feel confined to the space. Nice idea and execution.

3ssthejammer 2025-04-15 21:44

I guess theme is really well covered here! Guess "depth" is not about space, but about philosophical meaning here xD
