@bromakesgames That's the WebGL build? Yeah, I removed it because that build is fubar. The web renderer doesn't like baking a dynamic navigation mesh. So it just throws up it's hands and runs off into the sunset.
Could you give one of the native builds a try and let me know how that works for you?
The audio is quite humorous and the concept is interesting, but I have to say that I felt a bit upset after I made more bees but the time was running out. Maybe giving more time or sustainable options could be better:)
Worked for me, I was able to play and make one Bee! I ended up with two honey. I reckon the main problem is "conveyance" of what you're doing and how to do it "in game".
Adding the "Cost" somewhere in game would be nice. For a game jam, I'd fully accept putting your resources text in game so people don't "have to read the game jam description" to be able to play.
Cool that you had worker bees that had "optional moves" to do - I can definitely *feel* the *system* you were making for essentially a little RTS! I do think that, if you have nectar, right clicking on an empty space should automatically use the "make honey in this area" function.
Good job :)
Niceļ¼The audio effect is really funny and consistent with the tone!
Good game!!!
Really enjoyable experience, managed to collect 10 honey but never got chance to make more bees as ran out of time.
@lakea Yeah, that seems to be the main issue with the loop. I made the main timer too short. I had attempted to add in a +time when honey is completed, but I ran out of time before submission. Thanks for giving it a shot!
Loved the audio, it's very cute. :) I enjoyed producing more and more bees but it took me a while to figure out how and what to do. Good job making this game. :)
The colorful honeycomb and bee management are fun and engaging. The audio adds a playful charm, though the timer feels a bit short. Great concept and enjoyable to play!
Audio is fun) idk why but i had dune ornithopters in mind while i was playing.
It's a very interesting idea! I am delighted with the soundtrack. I also really liked the honeycomb interface. But unfortunately, I never managed to make new bees. Anyway, it's a great game!
Cool graphics and cute audio! Definitely a bit janky and confusing at first but after reading the description I think I kinda get it. Main timer is definitely short though unless there is a way to extend it? As it is time runs out before you really get a chance to get things going.
It's a very cute game. Especially the soundtrack. It kinda felt a little slow, with some downtime here and there. Maybe it would be nicer to spawn one be already with some nectar? Alse would be nice to be able to purchase some time with honey
But it's a great game considering all the compo limitations
I really liked the design of the bees and just the overall vibe of everything, really reminded me of older RTS games I used to play which was a nice bit of nostalgia. The default volume for everything was really loud tho, next time I might suggest turning it way lower than you think you'll need.
hahaha I love the audio so much. The flying and walking sounds are hilarious. It's the first bee entry i've seen so bonus points on the innovation front. Well done!
I really like the visual aspect of the game, as well as the idea and concept behind it. The atmosphere is very charming and the game itself fits perfectly with the theme. Well done!
Really like the idea of this game/simulator. The controls were a little off it was hard to click the bees and i felt it took too long to make honey and so on. Nice entry.
Really cool presentation, very impressive for a first attempt at 3d! The sound is also just perfect. I didn't actually manage to make any bees, the button just wouldn't do anything?
