It looks very cool but I don't really understand what the goal of the game is ,:)

@dogesquad You win if your opponent has no coins left. You must play several games in this way.

Very atmospheric, great visuals. I felt like I needed a bit more of a tutorial:)

Agree with the other commenters - the aesthetic is great! It's unclear to me, though, why I'm winning or losing. Does placing my bugs in a particular order matter? Is it just purely how many bugs I have that match with the bugs under the cup? If the latter, It would be good to highlight the matches - the game moves through scoring pretty quickly so I can't really tell why I won or lost. Great work, though!

I have no idea how to play this game, but I was able to get the bugs out of the cups, and just took them for myself)

Game has good presentation! But rules are confusing, i won but not understand how

heat 2024-10-08 08:45

@seth-l Thanks for playing! You may be right that the game moves too quickly between the slots. But at the end of the round you can look at your hand and your opponent's hand and shuffle the bugs to find matches.

The rules were not clear to players, so I also added screenshots describing the game mechanics to make it easier for players to understand the rules.

It's got big Buckshot Roulette energy, lol, and I think having played that I got a good sense for how it worked. It's cool, I think you did a great job building it it's just tough with more systems-y games that aren't immediately intuitive.

heat 2024-10-08 15:29

@ccollider Haha, my friend said the same thing. I think it's because of the monster. I've never played Buckshot Roulette, but I've seen it on streamers, so I was inspired by its style and other similar games when making this game. Thanks for the review.

Aesthetics and music are very cool, but I'm joining the crowd of "I'd need a tutorial", not sure how to play it even after seeing the screenshots.

hummmmmmmm bugshot roulette? looks nice

tetrergeru 2024-10-08 20:51

Took some time to figure the rools, but the game is solid, but a bit slow for us risk-avoiders

dianavi 2024-10-08 21:40

Nice! I really like the ambiance

codmen4000 2024-10-09 02:12

This is super cool! I can tell it's somewhat based on Buckshot roulette. I just feel like it needs a little spice. What made buckshot Roulette fun, while also having great risk was the ability to either manipulate the system or know with greater certainty. This game doesn't really have that. It is amazing but is in desperate need of some mechanics to make less of a "blind gambling simulator."

I love the graphics and the vibe, but it felt like the outcome was pretty random. I was never really sure how I should be betting. But the theme/graphics/audio were definitely on point.

My last all-in, and I’m free!

I really liked the game. It has a cool style and reminded me of Inscryption and Buckshot Roulette. The gameplay was interesting too, though I didn’t fully understand how the scoring worked. I tried to bet more when I had a lot of the same bugs. The only thing that bothered me was the music—the Bass Drone sound effect kept going and hurt my ears a bit. I actually felt better when it stopped. But other than that, I really enjoyed the game!

Very nice looking entry! Great job for 48 hours. I really enjoyed the visual aesthetics, the sound contributed as well. Loved that soundtrack is a bit fast pacing instead of gloomy, so it makes me want to make decisions faster.

Some constructive feedback:

It's a great variant of a poker style of game, but to make it click it might be useful to think why poker works. Poker works because you can estimate probability of certain combinations in your hand and in the hand of the opponent and probability of opponent having a better/worse combination with you. It might be super helpful to expose how many of which type of bugs are there in the deck and how likely it is that the opponent will have a better combination. E.g. if I know that there are only two types of certain bugs in the deck and I have both, I'll likely to bet more.

But anyways, I had fun, thanks for the entry!

heat 2024-10-13 16:29

@iovorobiev Thanks for the feedback! As in poker, each bug has 4 suits, they are different colours. There are 36 bugs in the deck. There can only be 15 on the table.
