For having so much to worry about you did a good job with this entry. Would've liked a way to know the amount of health I had at all times, but other than that it was simple and the theme was implemented nicely.
Foon → Ludum Dare Explorer → LD54 → Claustrazombia

Fun and simple game. It took me a bit to figure the controls out. and I would have liked to see my score. I can easily see myself spending a lot of time trying to figure out strategies for playing this.
It is a completely playable game so cheers! I'd add a number of enemies killed and mayhaps a healthbar. Maybe use mouse to control the crossbow?
Simple game, but nice job learning the new engine, and fitting in some time to actually make it!
Personally I think the sword should be a bit more powerful, or maybe have some knockback - it was really quite difficult
I'm not sure - is there a win condition? I managed to get the red box to be pretty small, but the inevitability of the hoard overcame me :stuck_out_tongue:
@kewdev Thanks! I didn't have time to worry about a health bar so I just did the health text :)
@jeremy-klassen When you say you can't see the score, do you mean the game is restarting before it stops and you can see it? There's a one-second timer after you die until any key input will restart the game.
@ciaranw I agree, it's super hard lol There's no win condition, just a highscore game to see how long you can survive
@roboimuri Using the mouse to control the crossbow would definetly be better than what I have but I made this on a laptop so wasn't thinking about that lol I theoretically added controller support so maybe it'd be better then?
For the extra difficulty you added for yourself to make this game, I think you did a great job! After getting the hang of the crossbow I could survive until the red zone collapsed on me! One easy thing that would have greatly improved the quality of the gameplay is an end screen where you can see how long you survived or some sort of score
@GameDevJeroen You might have been too far zoomed in on the page, the aspect ratios get messed up. If you zoom out right, the red zone will be visible from the start and you'll be able to see your health and score!
I liked it! I felt like the zombies moved a bit too fast, and if there were too many, then it was pretty much game over with no way to recover. But I found a strategy that worked (shooting them as they spawned, so there are only a couple at a time) and ended up with no space to move in the end, so I think I won :)
The dash didn't feel as useful as the crossbow I think, but the sword attack paired pretty nicely with the crossbow, to get enemies off your tail.
I also didn't see the UI on default zoom, so I was a bit confused about how much health I had, but I think it's fine! It's a fully functional game, and pretty fun! Good job!
The controls were pretty fun once getting the hang of it, not a bad entry for being short on time! The difficulty ramped up quick, but was able to improve each attempt for a few runs straight. The dash wasn't all too helpful, but I found myself using it just to be flashy lol
Edit: Same problem as jandourek for me, couldn't see the healthbar and thought it was just missing from the submission!
Nice entry! I like that there are three completely different tools, i.e. sword, bow and dash, and you need to combine all three to succeed.
Some better control of the bow would be nice and would help with the difficulty ramp up.
Cool entry. I'd say having the only death condition be touching the red zones would have been a bit better since it would leaned into the theme a bit more and there's no way for the player to track their health anyway, but that might also just be me being bad at the game. I really like the variety of options and the dash is really fun too!
@buzzybee You can see the health if you zoom out (or in? i can't remember), it was hard to get the web build right
