I like it ! I find the range of the weapon too tiny, but the fact there is a cooldown on the weapon is nicely done !
Looks very cute! The weapon swing seems a little awkward, I was basically on top a bat and I still wasn't hitting it for a while. Having to get there near-pixel perfect while movement wouldn't allow me to get into that position felt a little frustrating.
A clear concept though, the art is good and animations match the whole vibe well.
Looks really cool, great work on the tutorial section. I think if you had enough time to implement killing the bats, it would be a pretty great! Stellar first submission, good job!
(or maybe I'm not using the sword correctly, do you have to be super close?)
anyways great work, love the art work!
money grow on trees!
I found it challenging to end playing the game once I got started! Definitely among the best games that I've tried here. Found it quite difficult, but addictive.
I love the look of the game! Feels awesome picking up loads of blue gems. Combat feels a little slow though, I wish I could swing my sword faster
Really great looking game. Movement felt solid and responsive. I couldn't kill a bat for the life of me (sword attack rate was crazy slow). Kept dying while picking up gems and finding chests with a better weapon T_T.
I want to see it on steam !:D
Very good concept, I just think you should fix the sword attack speed and it's done.
Awesome entry! You should be super proud, this is an excellent first game jam entry!
Like the art style and gets very intense very quickly but fun
I like seeing a super ambitious game, it would be interesting to see it fully developed. The art style reminds me of Forager a bit. Adding knockback and screenshake would help the game feel heaps! Good job with what you've got, interested to see what you do next time!
Nice entry, I think it has a lot of potential. I wish the weapon, particularly sword swinging, were a bit more polished, since it is the one thing you do the most in this game. If the core is satisfying, the game will be greatly enhanced, and everything else is a bonus. Overall great job for a solo jam!
Really fun wave/defense game. :D As others mentioned, the starting sword was a little too slow- rushing a key to get a bow at the start made things much more enjoyable. I wish there was more enemy variety, but that's understandable given the time constraints, and it's a good sign that people want more. :)
Fun game! I wish the sword was faster and a bit more clear as to where exactly it was hitting. Otherwise nice work!
I don't know if I was doing anything wrong or what but I could only seem to hit the bats once in a while. I'd hit the bat, stand on the same spot and then swing my sword and miss. It felt like I was missing every hit... slightly frustrating.
I liked the look, and it reminds me a bit of Forager.
Cool art style, and the animations were great, though the hit boxes / combat could be improved a lot. It was really hard to swing/hit the bats. Since you're swamped by bats, having a more arcade feel, and just having a simple hitbox that damages bats in range would be more precise / fun.
Also a delay at the beginning to let you explore the island would be cool. You could then use this instead of the tutorial level.
