Played your game and managed to survive quite a bit. It's definitely a game up my alley :), good job!
Foon → Ludum Dare Explorer → LD54 → Nebula Odyssey

Neat game, I just wish it had a few more buttons and things to build. Once you have a good setup all that's left is waiting for something to get destroyed... could use some extra paths of progression.
@strato I definitely would have loved to! (I also wish I could have included a storyline / star map and additional hazards). But I did what I could with the time I had. Glad you liked it
After getting enough magnets there was nothing crashing on the ship, so I couldn't do much. It felt super comfy actually. Maybe it was luck? xD
+1 to @strato's comment about progression, I would love to see more of this (even outside the jam). This is exactly the kind of game I would play for hours and hours!
@edearth The difficulty should ramp up pretty quickly after a couple minutes by spawning more asteroids (and making them more accurate 🤫). I probably could have made the difficulty curve better by playtesting it a bit more and tuning the parameters, but I ran out of time. I'll definitely consider expanding this post-jam, but no promises yet :)
I liked this one, only real gripe was that I built the wrong thing a few times and some tooltips would have helped out a little. interesting twist on FTL type games good job
I like this one a lot. The music and art and general gameplay does give off some FTL vibes as others have alluded to. I found quite a good strategy was to just build out horizontally as much as possible and add the magnets to maximise the money. Definitely a cool concept here which with some extra time to flesh out could be a really fun game.
Not really much to criticise here. Controls were easy to understand. I guess one thing to improve would be the UI. I think if you cant afford to place a room yet you should have the placement show up but semi transparent in red. That might make it a bit clearer and easier than nothing showing up and having to press the key again.
Well done!
Nice game, could have some extra complexity
This is a nice entry, nice use of the theme. Incredibly stressful to play, my poor ship did not make it very far
Cool game! I made it relatively far until a bunch of asteroids continued crashing over the ship in a small amount of time. If there was a way to defend against asteroids and a bit more to do this could be an amazing game with a lot of potential. Nice job!
Nice entry. It gets quite hectic after a while where there is not much you can do about the constant bombardment. I scored 426. It reminds be a bit of the 'Galaxy Trucker' board game. Tooltips on the buttons would have been nice. It wasn't particularly clear how the cloning bays worked, and moving characters around was a but janky.
Thanks @someone! I agree, it was my first time writing a pathfinding algorithm, and I wrote it near the end of the jam, so it is pretty janky. I also wanted to make it a bit more fluid and add animations, so I'll probably do that post-jam if I end up getting back to this game.
I jumped when the first asteroid hit XD My crew died, I am not meant for space =( But good work on the game!
Fun game! I thought everything was going great until I got hit by one asteroid and then it got really chaotic!
Love the satisfying/scary screen shake when the asteroids hit & the screen getting redder, it's a game that feels good/harrowing to play. I am not very smart so struggled to understand exactly how to play lol, if you find more time to work on it I think it could benefit from just a bit of in-game instruction on what to do with the different buttons & slowly introducing them one by one. Super cool tho!!
rating to get you out of the danger zone. Nice game. Out of nowhere all of my crew died and I didn't know why but I was doing well until then haha. I like the way you did pathing, it's clever and works well, although visually a little strange. Nice game!
