Thanks, link is provided now to itch.io
I am having trouble controlling the game right now. The dialog box won't go away with any buttons I have tried. I would love to play it :( Let me know if that gets fixed and I will try again!
Controlling is... broken? But graphics are cool.
Good job! The game is really beautiful.
Cool game, love the art, animations and visuals. A tutorial screen would have been a great add-on!
it seems there is a problem when I try to run it.

playing on a mac btw
Regarding the Server configuration error - this is only if you try to play on this website I believe. The HTML version can be played via the itch.io link above (https://haymakercoding.itch.io/banana-snatchers). The game can also be played via the download (PC executable). There is a controller bug or 2 (or 3) I need fix so right now experiences will vary. Thanks for playing!
I made a small post jam submission fix to the itch.io version of the game to fix the right and left top triggers not working and changed the mode to compatibility to help with HTML play. The original unfixed jam version is still the download link found here. If you have trouble with controls please try the itch.io link. Note a controller is still required to play as keyboard controls would be an added feature, so I will add them once the voting wraps up.
Lack of keyboard support unfortunately really puts a damper on this one. Will update my rating once I can try it with a controller. Visuals look really cool though, I love how the monkeys look.
The audio was cool! Couldn't experience more of the game though, wish there was keyboard support.
Hey thanks guys, controls seem to be a nightmare. Even with a controller some buttons don't seem to work on the HTML version, I think it's a Godot 4 thing combined with browser support. This is my first Jam so don't want to break any rules by releasing new version. But I think I will update with keyboard controls shortly and mark it as a post jam update. Hopefully that is ok
HTML build on itch still doesn't seem to work with deploying monkeys with controller. The Windows exe deploys monkeys but when I launch them they just get left behind on the road. A more minor bug is that the music doesn't seem to loop.
Techinical difficulties aside, I do like the pixel art
Thanks, my partner, the artist loves the feedback on his art. Too bad I biffed the controls lol, timeframe was tough for coding.
I have to be honest, the controls are extremely confusing even without the technical difficulties. Only being able to face in four directions and switch between three preset speeds is extremely unintuitive for a driving game, and the walls don't seem to be very forgiving. I had a lot of trouble even just getting to the delivery truck, couldn't figure out how to actually launch the monkeys, and then decided I just couldn't be bothered.
Honestly, I think you would've been better off going for keyboard controls from the get-go.
Not a bad simple game, but not very intuitive control. I saw a hint on management only when I pressed the Esc button with the desire to exit. After getting acquainted with the controls, the game became more interesting, I even managed to pass it. Once I drove around the city for several minutes in search of a truck, and when I found it, it pulled off the road and went to travel through the houses. Separately, I would like to praise the art and music. They are unpretentious, but very pleasant.
Without reading the description -- I would never have guessed what to do). But in general, it was more or less fun, even if the control on the keyboard seemed very uncomfortable.
Nice-looking game! Should add a screenshot to this page 🐵
Like the others I struggled a bit with the controls and what to do but figured it out. I think normal WASD could've been fine since I never felt like I needed to drift anyway. I tried with a (PS3) gamepad but triggers for aiming unfortunately didn't work with it.
The story and the monkeys are funny! I'm sorry you didn't have time to implement driving back home, would've been cool! Music is a bit repetitive but has a nice bass.
Overall pretty neat, just needs a few issues worked out! c:
