Interesting idea. Sound effects are pretty good. The game was a lot harder than it looked

I love the pixel art style! However, the box dragging being this slow gets a bit frustrating

kabura 2023-05-01 20:08

I love the style and simplicity of the game! art is great and its easy to understand. I'm wondering, how did you render the pixel graphics to be pixel perfect? did you use the built in unity pixel camera for that?

detkewldog 2023-05-01 20:34

Thanks for the feedback y'all! @kabura I just used the built in Pixel Perfect camera component in Unity. I used a 320x180 resolution with a 16 pixels per unit size. :)

Mmmm the sfx, outlines, background - all so juicy and satisfying. Could definitely get pretty frantic, trying to juggle packages, but it was great fun for the short runs that I had. I wonder if increasing the 'hitbox' for the packages, making them easier to grab, might allow me to squeak by a little longer.

Looks so fantastic - definitely makes me want to try the pixel camera in unity. Easy to learn, hard to master - an ideal game concept, very well made - and I laughed heartily the first time I dropped a mailbox 'package'.

Also - such a good name!

detkewldog 2023-05-01 21:13

Tysm for the feedback! The hitbox issue is caused by A) the cursor hotspot. I had no clue if it should be positioned at its tip or the center of the sprite and B) the drag n' drop feature uses the boxes' actual physics hitbox. Would probably fix after the jam :)

Great art and a polished straight forward concept. I kinda wish the conveyors were a little longer or slower so I had more time to grab incoming objects. Great work :)

matthew-bond 2023-05-02 04:36

Great physics and fun concept! I felt bad for all the customers who's package that I dropped. :P

ismael-rodriguez 2023-05-02 04:44

Simple but fun. Visually very nice, 1 nitpick would be the contrast between foreground and background elements, I think a darker BG would help me see the boxes a little better. I also think a longer runway/conveyor would be nice. Great entry overall, congrats!

Pretty fun time but super stressful lol. Eventually you start figuring out how to flick boxes in their respective lanes all the way from the left side which is super satisfying! My two nitpicks would be: * the mailbox is kind of an unintuitive sprite for a bomb containment device * having to click right on the boxes can be challenging, especially once they start falling, making that area a little larger than the sprite could've helped. * maybe some noise feedback for successful orders to give some dopamine.

Otherwise I found it satisfying, the packages felt about the right weight, and the way the bombs are announced ahead of time with sound was also very neat

allax 2023-05-02 17:06

Great style, the pixel art is very nice. Sometimes it is very difficult to take the bomb with the mouse, maybe you should increase the hitboxes a bit. I think the game would be great on mobiles

detkewldog 2023-05-02 19:15

@ixil-miniussi that's a great idea! @allax there is an android version included in this page :)

amunonra 2023-05-02 22:52

Quite an interesting idea, though a bit random with the pipe bombs :D The shortness of the conveyor belts plus the speed of the packages and pipe bombs made the gameplay feel a little to wonky for my personal taste. Also took me a while to figure out the game actually wants me to place the boxes on the conveyor belts on the right side with matching colours. The iconigraphy of the signs were just not clear to me from the beginning. If you like conveyor belts you might also want to check out our game :)

Oh nice, physics! Oh, game over. Oh, that's what you have to do! Oh, game over. Oh why must there be such a big gap between the conveyour belt systems!? Oh, game over. Oh, you can play in the title screen too! Oh, accidentally hit "Play"... Oh, game over.
