I definitely like the artstyle!
Foon → Ludum Dare Explorer → LD53 → Panic Potion

I definitely like the artstyle!
Controls themselves felt pretty nice, but it was hard. So hard I couldn't make it out of the first area (not sure if it's a bug or if I'm bad). Trying to aim the potion was difficult and I felt like I could never jump high enough to continue on the journey. I like this idea of tossing the potion around -- it's a nice twist on the classic "Getting over it" style game.
I like the main mechanic to this a lot! Every throw is like is like a mini speedrun to get the potion back and catching the potion mid-jump is very satisfying. I can see there being lots of interesting techniques for the player to learn and play with. The art and theme of the game is very nice too.
The physics of the bottle can feel a little bit inconsistent when it hits walls and bouncepads but maybe that's in line with the direction you wanted for the game. Nice one!
Well, this game certainly is difficult.
Refining the camera would make this significantly more comfortable to play. It's a bit jarring when the map and your character changes entirely or swaps positions between frames.
The game's audio could be a bit lower as the gameover prompt caught me off guard a few times.
I feel like with some more polish, this could be a really fun game.
@xedur Yes, we've caught some difficulties with the camera, it's not very playable right now. Thanks!
Great idea, but the controls were super clunky to use. Also, I found the explosion audio pretty jarring (headphones were up pretty high.) I barely made it anywhere, but did get the basics of throw-platform-throw. I think fluid controls are key for this.
Nice idea, controls were super clunky, but I think this is part of the fun here ;) Sadly, I didn't had the patience to make it to the end :/
Oh this game... a little bit rage, but i like it :D The controls and the camera need a polish, then i tihnk this will be a very fun game :)
I love how you yeeet the potion
It was beautiful but sooooooo hard! I understand that you need to throw the potion and then get there and then throw again, but it was a matter of pressing three different buttons to throw it correctly. As a suggestion you could aim with mousse and then throw to be more precise to complete the game instead of fighting the controls. Other than this great submission!
@freakyzelga thanks you! aim with mouse is a really good decision, but we even not thought about it... :)
I love the aesthetic of the game! I did have a bit of trouble mastering the mechanic but I think that was intentional, good job team
Fun concept, a bit difficult. The camera was shifting rapidly and having the R key restart the game while you use E to throw also made me restart involuntarily. Nice entry all together!
The game has an interesting theme and visuals, but the throwing of the bottle is more frustrating than useful. The game became more interesting when I found a let’s say exploit that if I throw the potion strait in the air jump and pick it up while it is still falling (the pickup radius is quite large) it was much easier and fun too move through the levels. The springs are a bit iffy and have to much power as the last level can be completed with only one use of the first spring. All in all, good job.
Very difficult without a way to aim the potion throw besides movement. Found myself frustrated quickly. Cute graphics and clever idea, but too hard for me.
I couldn't get out of level 1  I wanted to though because I thought there was a decent game under there. If you could aim and throw with the mouse that would make a big difference to me.
Very difficult, felt pretty discouraged by even the 2nd level. But I quite like the idea of having to keep the potion moving rather than keeping it from moving too much, it seems counter to the expectation with sensitive alchemy. Good entry!
