I can not build for windows or mac, and the Godot web builds seem to be broken on this site.
A link to itch.io is acceptable I hope? * https://story-arc.itch.io/the-dust-harvest

I liked the concept but I was having a hard time. I am still not sure what the jump drive does (it seems to just restart the game) but once I learned I could pick up monkey dusk I started to have a much better time, heh.
The jump drives takes you "home", it lets you save resources before you die and lose them. When home you can craft boosters to using them more freely in the next run and hit higher scores. (the death and jump transitions are a bit jarring, did not have time for smooth transitions or polish on those)
Very rough at first as you tend to die really quickly to enemies before you can learn what anything does... especially given that you don't spawn with ammo! A slightly more detailed tutorial on your first time playing would really help players figure out what's going on.
Once I cleared that early hump, things started to click into place... a really smooth and stylish survival shooter!
Nice game, I enjoyed the minimalistic art style and gameplay feel good. But it was hard to understand at first even though I read the instructions :( Maybe little tutorial would help. Music and sounds are simple but good. I would advice you to give a bit more thought to UI/UX though. For example, put text saying attack/speed boost because I frogot that they are even a thing at first. And it's a bit confusing since your press 1 to speed boost which is to the left from 2 to attack, but in UI speed boost counter is to the right from attack boost.
But I'm neat picking! Game is good, once you understand how it works.
Congratz of finishing the project! The game was too difficult for me : D I didn't understand how to play. Couldn't shoot or move faster : < Probably better tutorial would do the job. Nice artstyle tho! See ya on the next one!
@SparklingSushi The start seems a bit rough for many. Pick up white stuff, kill one or two and jump out, save dust repeat until you have a stash and get the hang of it. Also killing those that light up (harvested your) drop extra dust.
This game has potential. Controls are nice and graphics are simple but clean. Some stuff are confusing tho, for example "jump" being kind of a restart, and the stuff you should pick up looking exactly like the enemies, just smaller. I'm wondering why you otped out of graphics ?
@yorsh for the Jam I opted out of the graphics because the game has none. Maybe I could have left it on but it did not feel right. (Same for Audio it is just some royalty free track and 8bit procedural noise)
@nodra I get it for audio, but I think your squares and texts are already enough graphics. Usually people opt out when they mostly use free assets. Doesn't matter too much tho tbh.
Took me some time to understand how to play. The minimalistic visuals look nice and the gameplay feels good too.
The cover art looks interesting, but we couldn't get the game to load on the browser... :(

@autumnmnmn Try running it on using itch.io, something is off about godot/ldjam hosting combo.
Sadly most of the art was cut from the submission. Working on an update for after the voting.
A cool little game, as you mentioned the start is quite rough, but once you get the hang of it it is actually quite fun. I could really see this working as a bigger game where you unlock more stuff with your stored harvest, and more enemies and bosses, etc. A solid jam entry!
Also I don't understand why you don't want to get rated on graphics, I find the style quite good and it doesn't seem like you used any third party assets.
Tried on itch, not sure if something is wrong, I was unable to shoot.
@ismael-rodriguez nothing wrong, you need to quickly harvest some Dust (white dots) before you can shoot.
