Neat game idea. I'm impressed you were able to pack in that many mechanics given the time frame.

@sonicpixelation Thanks for playing. Probably added too much and I had more I wanted to add. It's a little harder trying to make a card/board game.
Great game!
@taikinaaa Thanks for playing.
I enjoyed it. I love playing with cards and dice. Thank you for the detailed tutorial. It seems that the cards remain red border after selecting the program is a bug) I didn't understand why the symbols are needed at the top right on the card.
The amount of mechanics you fit into the Compo timeframe is crazy. Seems like there is a lot of depth to be explored. As you mentioned in a comment on my game, teaching card game rules in a jam is always really difficult. Really nice effort!
@savidiy the symbols on the right of the card are used to match programs(underneath the picture) on other cards. For example, a card that has a "code" program(underneath the picture) needs another card that has a "code" symbol to the right. I probably needed to highlight those areas during the game.
@echo-gameworks Thanks for playing. I probably add too much although I don't feel like it's too complicated.
The amount of work. I can't believe I can use your game for the next X jams :P Nice job! It took some reading through the tutorials and watching your video but once I had it down it was good. I had a bunch of fun coming up with new ideas. I might use it as a idea generator tbf!
nice work :D
This is a fascinating entry. The combination of card/dice/resource management game was cool to see in an LD entry and, even though it's a bit confusing, it was WAY more understandable than I'd expect from a jam game throwing some of these ideas together. The video example/guide was a very welcome addition and made things a lot clearer. Figuring out the right balance of slotting cards, programming resources, and fixing bugs is a nice puzzle to solve. Great work!
@d3kryption I think the best part is making the different games. It's was the idea I started with. Glad the video helped. It's difficult to explain a game that probably most people just want to play it quickly.
@atmospherium I play a bunch of board games and tried to borrow mechanics from different ones. Originally I wasn't going to have the cards be used to finish programs. I changed it because you would then have a reason to draw them. Still some bugs in my one game :)
This level of complexity in JAM makes my jaw drop... simply magnificent, I liked everything. Giving tips, I would put a song and the animated background. I liked the tutorials, if possible make them more dynamic, the text is very scary... but I really liked the game as a whole!
Check out my game: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/52/space-harvest
@lfreinoso It helped that I had a clear idea for the game and schedule for making it. I did make a song, but got rid of it because it was annoying and distracting. Tried to match a font to old 8bit nes atari games. Thanks for playing and the comments.
Really complex game, the tutorial is a bit long but the amount of complexity is really impressive. Good job!
@bastienre4 Thanks for play. There was a lot to explain.
A really cool game with a lot of work in it! Took me two tries to get the gig but quite fun once assimilated.
@mephistase I'm glad you were able to learn how to play and enjoyed it!
Cool and complex game, liked the tutorial. Great game!
@ffrusik glad you liked it
Very crazy game. Complicated card proceedings; great art, sounds fit, IIIInnnooovvvaaatiioooonnnnn!!!!!!
@commanderstitch thanks for playing. I really enjoyed making my own card/dice game. I had more ideas for it, such as goals that you could earn bonus points.
TL;DR Pretty impressive, Found some issues, could use some love here and there.
A bit complicated and messy at first, but easy to catch on if you dedicate some time and energy to understand it. But then again, it's pretty solid for a LD entry, i mean there's a lot of content mashed into there it seems, gonna have to give it some more runs, but i had to come back to say, the Main menu button at the end, ~~at least if you loose...~~ would not return me to any main menu of sorts so i was forced to quit ;-;
But!! i'm no quitter! I'm diving back in
So, after a couple more rounds in the Merry go 'round it's holding up quite well, i'm still somewhat confused about aome abilities on certain cards, But i might be doing something wrong. I was expecting a different ending for finishing with positive points and a finished game, but alas, Game Over. Then there was the case of me not being allowed to draw cards, even though i had "Draw Actions" to spend.
I did some tries before understood completely the gameplay, but I succeed to make a game! :confetti_ball: (but just one)
I did 54 points, but I don't know if it's a good or a bad score :sweat_smile:
for my two cents: - I'm not a huge fan of red text on green background in tutorial, it's somewhat agressive - "main menu" button don't work when game is over :cry:
@kekkodude @loiclegrosfrere I just posted a video of me playing on my YouTube channel yesterday and the main menu didn't work for me either. Lol. I do need to fix a lot and put in a different end screen and maybe a goal for scoring points. Never enough time in a jam. I greatly appreciate the feedback and hoped you enjoyed playing.
@loiclegrosfrere I know what is that, I can agree with you. I didn't work until I re-downloaded it
