Loved it! Such a unique take on the idea and just an interesting idea overall. My only complaint is the bar in the middle, as I had a hard time understanding what it means at the start.

I like the alien feel of the tournament built over a simple concept. The last contestant gave me flashbacks.
I liked it, it had a cool little world going on. Really silly, fun game and good use of the theme. The thumbnails for the characters are great too.
Amazing game. Really catchy graphics. Some work can be done from the gameplay side and can be a made abit more complex. I think the 10 second rule did resistricted a lot of possibilities. Please do check out my submission as well.
Liked the take on the theme. Graphics and dialogue are really cozy. I really enjoyed this one.
LOVED the concept!! I had actual fun playing against de bots, I felt like a champion when I actually got 0 seconds difference with the counter. What a rush! Overall great work!
Some words that come to mind are quaint, rural and homey. Love that you added a backstory to everyone! And how serious everyone takes this (like being a good keeper means you can have a better life xd)
The sounds of counting are kind of distracting, but maybe that was the aim. I took a few tries to beat Casey but didn't bother with the last one.
Very very good!! The ending seemed a clever way to use a problem for your advantage as a developer ðŸ§
Thank you for all the kind comments!
I'm especially glad to hear that at least some of you managed to figure out how to beat the final contestant, we were quite concerned whether that one was going to be intuitive enough.
@resacagames I am extremely impressed, that is not how you're supposed to win that one.
I had played some variants of this this jam but I REALLY liked the direction you chose for this. IMO better than the similar games. I think the biggest factor of all was the variety of things to do and the sense of progression through a tourney. Even though it's such a simple mechanic, you found ways to stretch it out. I probably would never have thought of the multiple opponent one. Even though you're mostly just facing the superior opponent, it still adds a lot of flavor to the battle. It's a lot like Wangan Midnight where you're suddenly battling 2 or 3 cars at once. Sure, there's only 1 to worry about, but it's cool to see opponents with relationships to each other, even if it's kinda simple in this game.
My strategy evolution: 1. After a few matches and figuring that the sound didn't help, I turned off the sound altogether to help my timing 2. After failing too many times just counting in my head, I'd tap every second with my hand to be more accurate 3. At some point I realized I could do better tapping in between seconds as well. Dunno why I didn't think about this earlier. Ghost stepping is something people do in DDR all the time to help with timing. Once I did this it was easy to get consistently under 0.3 or so.
I never could figure out how to beat the time master. I'd like spoilers at some point!
This was a very cool take on a mechanic and how you can expand on top of it by providing a world. The dialogue made me feel like Ryu, who just travels the world looking to fight, which is much funnier in this context. This was an awesome concept and I enjoyed playing through it.
This was a really novel way to use the theme, and I believe it worked out pretty well! The story was interactive enough to imagine a world where counting really is a valuable skill, but not too intrusive or too much of it. I relied on the age of technology to get me to the end, but when I hit the old one I thought I was beat.
I felt like a genius when I figured out how the hints told me the answer! Really clever and awesome way to use the medium to feel like a superpower!
There was an odd glitch where some text got jumbled up after I talked to Casey, not sure what could be causing that. Good art, good writing, good music. Great work on this game!
This is really cool! The narrative of this game is top quality among all games I've ever played in Ludum Dare. The characters are unique and I enjoyed it. I love the creepy eye guy. The twist in the last match was interesting too. I tried really hard to get the exact count before realizing the trick haha.

Very good!
This is such a good take! I loved the idea, which actually made me laugh out loud, and the art, humour and mood only added to that. Sadly, the actual gameplay is not very fun, I would describe this less as a game and more a visual novel, which is not designed to be played, but to be experienced. Highly recommended this to other participants in the Game Jam, while not the best *game*, certainly one of the best *entries* I have seen so far this year.
This was WAY more than I expected it to be, and it was awesome! You really created a whole world around the sport/art of tracking time, and I liked that it was mixed up some. I was sad that I had to beat each person separately, even when the competition was against multiple people (like beating two others at once didn't count for beating them both individually as well). Also for some reason my text glitched after a while? So I was trying to go back and discover the "secret" but the text was so garbled that I couldn't lol, whoops.Ten Second Games glitch.png
I was SO PROUD of how well I did a few times though; I'm normally awful at this and got a couple of really great times!!

What a pity there is no web version :(
WONDERFUL game..... simple but the graphics and writing add so much charm!!
This was great and very entertaining. I played it twice to finish it because the first time, around half, I "called it a day" thinking that you would go to sleep, something would happen, and you would continue the day after, but then I managed to beat The Counting One on the first try and that was a very nicely put hint. Also a really nice background story, I applaud how every character had something to say other than counting.
