Random orcs made me laugh. I loved the concept and use of the theme, I would also have loved a skip replay button, those got tedious pretty fast. Overall a nice idea!

@resacagames Thanks for playing. A skip replay button is a good idea for the future

Very fun ! I get to play untils the big giant. Maybe a little long the replay mode. Could be nice to be able to skip with a key press

When I first started this up, I thought it was just going to be Crazy Taxi-esque and you had to run over the hotspot to win. Once I saw that you were trying to get into the spot before the poor yellow car, everything clicked and I just started laughing.

Then I got the replay where I got to see the orcs falling over and such which made it even better. Actually, there were a LOT of great small touches. I think the absolute best thing I saw were the multiple colored palm trees lol. I thought: why don't ALL games have things like this!? Screw realism, the random doodads honestly was one of the main drivers of me moving forward and playing more level.

I don't necessarily think a skip replay button is needed. I think the main issue is watching your replays of you failing. Watching replays of your success is totally necessary.

Lastly, I wish I recorded it, but my best moment was pulling an Ace Ventura 2, flipping over every car in stage 3 and landing on my back. I felt like an absolute king.

Loved it altho the replays were a bit annoying]

I like this, it feels nicely polished and the replay feature is a very cool addition that gives you a nice break between levels. The way that the other cars shoot up when you make it to the spot too is ultra satisfying.

This is the first time I have ever played all the way through a game during ludum dare. This needs a full release with more levels and possibly multiplayer. Also a way to skip the replay. That got old fast.

Very well made! I didn't manage to pull off any cool barrel rolls with the spring though D:

etherianx 2022-10-05 01:47

That feeling when you drift to the spot ! A lot of attention to details and a really good gameplay. Well done !

The game performs really poorly for me - the framerate is abysmal and it feels like there is a lot of input delay. So the game isn't really playable for me. Anyone else having this issue? Any ideas how to troubleshoot?

Fun game, found it a little difficult to control but when you get a good run and nail the landing it's so good!

As others have mentioned, a skip replay option would be nice. I managed to flip my car in the first few seconds on one of the runs and had to wait another 8 seconds for the run to end and then for the full replay where basically nothing happened :D

Also might have helped to have some way to get used to the controls / drifting on an un-timed tutorial/playground before starting the timed levels? I felt like I didn't want to experiment with controls because I would run out of time.

Overall a great entry!

@empty-set I've been running the game on Firefox. Sorry to hear the game isn't running well for you

empty-set 2022-10-05 03:05

@russ-moonbase Huh, just tried it in Firefox and it runs just fine. I blame Google, haha.

I think this is a really fun concept. I like the colorfulness and somewhat surreal feeling of the world.

I agree with a lot of the feedback from other players - it would be nice to skip replays, and also to instantly reset if you roll your car. It makes it tough to learn the mechanics when you have to spend so much time not actually playing.

tobiasd 2022-10-05 07:35

Game plays smooth, cool music and wacky graphics. I felt I wasn't really "parking" which might have made it more fun. Would've been cool to have to knock the yellow car away first, then park maybe? Very fun vibe tho – I completed it :)

This was way more fun than I was expecting. Unfortunately, the unability to skip the replay led me to quitting after about the 10th fail on the junping level. You're actually playing only half of the time, which makes failing a lot more frustrating than it would have to be.

tommo120 2022-10-05 14:45

Fun little game! Didn't take me too long to complete. Feel like there's plenty of ideas for other levels with this, would be nice to see it fleshed out a little into a more complete title :) My main criticism would be having to wait for the replay to retry a level or go to the next level. Having space as skip and R as reset would be much appreciated! Other than that though, really enjoyed playing :)

angrybeard 2022-10-05 15:07

realy impressive amount of smotheness and phyiscs! but the inability to skip the replay was also a bit tiresome for me. Nonetheless impressive.

jaked 2022-10-05 21:38

If only you could skip the replay, it would make it a lot more playable! Otherwise it's fun driving around and I like the Orcs just chillin

tobius 2022-10-05 22:54

Theme was done well, in the "group" of solving a puzzle every 10 seconds but in a way I hadn't thought of! I think it also fits well with the theme of driving. One idea would be to have a relay mode where you need to hit a sequence of spots every 10 seconds to double down on the theme a bit more.

I thought the game play was fun, and the driving controls worked well. The drifting didn't feel 100% correct in that I wanted a little more control of my car while drifting, but I think that's also an area for players to grow more skillful.

I don't feel that the replay of you failing added anything positive to the experience of the game, it just made the experience of failing more frustrating. I really enjoyed the replays when you succeeded though!
