It would be cool if the spawn rate were more consistent - there was a period where there was nothing for me to obviously attack but I was still losing health - but that's sort of a more nitpicky thing in the face of the larger premise, which I liked. neato lol
@harrison-gowland Thanks! I agree about the spawn rates, I got in over my head and wasn't able to flesh out stuff. Glad you enjoyed it!

Lets just say I really like this aestatic, and I find games where you beat the hell out of food to be very funny. Im really hopping this was just a web version thing but my mouse was extremely jittery and most of the UI was cut off. I still ended up getting like 4000 score. Regardless no major things beyond that, really nice game!
Nice visuals and sound. A little hard to control. Good work!
@mcnuttys I'm happy you enjoyed it :)! Sorry to hear about the bugs, those should just be web version bugs, I didn't have time to fix them.
@serxiolas Thanks for the feedback!

At first I was like: what? and tried to attack everything. But then I read the text and had fun hiding from the monsters and attacking food. The music was really loud. It matched quite well to the graphics. Great entry for a compo!
I got killed by a big corn monster :slight_frown:
I never thought I'd be bunny hopping around a convenience store throwing soda at pop-tarts in a Ludum Dare game, but here we are. I like the wacky humor and presentation. Controlled pretty well too, and the theme was core to the game mechanics. Great job!
Very good entry! The controls were a little floaty, but once you got used to it, movement was good. The art and music were great. Thanks for sharing!
@helen Sorry about the music being too loud! I'm glad you enjoyed it beyond that :)!
@googlypoo I'm happy you enjoyed the humor!
@realryanrogers Glad you were able to adapt to the movement, thanks for playing!
Very fun concept, I really like the visual style and there's a really enjoyable gameplay loop here. My mouse was incredibly jittery feeling in that it felt like the mouse was turning in snaps in response to me moving it instead of smoothly moving as I moved my mouse which made it tougher to play and I had to stop after a few rounds so I didn't get a headache.
Other than that though, very smooth. At first I was wondering what the point in the jump was but as soon as I found out it's basically a boost, I loved it. I do feel cheated though... the health bar is doughnuts but I don't eat doughnuts to restore it? How could you!
Really though I can tell you had a lot of fun making this and this feels like it would be a perfect little arcade style game either by itself or as a mini game inside another game! Great job with this!

Very fun concept, I really like the visuals especially. It's always mindblowing to see what can be done in the compo category. Well done!

This is a funny little game. I like both the visuals and music. The rotation was a weird, but else the controls was pretty good. Overall a good jam game.
Music slapped; loved the little ad libs in the song lol. Wish the game had a reticle and a sensitivity slider, but that's definitely asking a lot for a compo. Super stylish entry!!
Cool little game. The visuals are nice. For my personal preference, the arms could be a bit lower to offer more visibility. Otherwise: I am now considering returning every shopping cart from now on....
@sarah-alexa I've had a couple people mention the mouse bug, It must be a frame rate issue, do you know if it's allowed to fix bugs before judging is over? I'm glad that didn't stop you from enjoying it though! I'll be sure to think about adding donuts if I work more on it :P
@akkara Anything is possible with no sleep, some Chex mix, and a couple energy drinks! Thanks for playing!
@fenrei I'm considering adding more! I have another project I'm working on though, so It may be a while. Happy you liked it!
@decadedecaf I'm happy you liked my 30 minute attempt at music haha. There's actually a sensitivity slider in the pause menu ;). A reticle could be a good idea.
@desertmaw If I work more on it I'll be sure to add a slider to lower the arms :D. And yes... you better return your shopping carts... cause if you don't..... you never know what could happen...

Loved the fever-dream concept (hunger-induced mania, perhaps) and the overall style. Loved it!
The gameplay wasn't too intuitive at first (Was the soda my food? Was I supposed to eat the popcorn things? Were they enemies? Both??), but I eventually got it and had tons of fun! Especially being a compo, you've got to be proud of this.
(I had the opposite problem with the mouse as some others have mentioned: deceleration felt slower than I expected, so movement was "slippery".)
@masterofcheese I would double check the rules but I believe you're allowed to fix bugs like that. I don't know if there's any time constraints on that or anything but I think it's allwoed!
@hawkin Glad you liked the concept :)! Thanks for the feedback on the movement too!
@sarah-alexa Thanks for responding! I usually check the rules first, but they're not always clear haha.
