Here's some ~~complaints~~ feedback:
* It's hard to judge when the timer is going to go off. "Every ten seconds" starts from when you start the level (it seems) which means I have to watch the timer carefully and note what the last digit is when I need to time something precisely (mostly on level 2!)
* Sounds play only on the left side (not a big deal), and they get quieter the further from the origin the player is (even less of a deal, I only noticed this on level 4).
* The player can walk on coins, sometimes.
But this is still impressive for 48 hours!

Hey ! There are great ideas in this game! I think maybe 10 seconds is too long for a thing to happens in a platformer (waiting for 10 seconds to jump is very long), but i understand it was because of the theme. But still, congrats!

Kudos for making a game that took all of the obvious and simple interpretations of the theme and synthesizing an unique experience! Sadly, in staying true to the theme some mechanics (specifically the jumping on timer and gravity change) mechanics became more of a nuisance than a challenge. All said in done, solid submission and keep up the great work!

I really enjoyed the graphics, especially the coin sprite animation, but I found level 2 too frustrating to continue playing unfortunately :(
Great game, but lots of waiting is involved. Still a great game!

I'm joining the train of quitting after level 2 :( It was just too harsh to wait. Maybe if it was 1 jump only, it could've been a fun joke. Other than that, a cool game, I enjoyed it.

After a few game i can relly say tha your game implemented the idea of 10 seconds. I enjoy this game and platforming

well polished.. fun game.. level 2 felt like brake a bit.. then some levels started to get more frustrating.. but I guess that is why these game are also fun :)

@glove and @bobo-oh, thanks for playing! I totally agree, I think the game would be more fun if you could control the timing of things. I was inspired by Brash Bandicoot 4, especially for the double jump and gravity flip. It would be fun to make another version of this where the player could activate events/powers too!
Fun game! Level 5 was cool, I like how you change the level design to match how fast the player will be.
I agree that some of the levels were too slow because of the 10 second rule.
It's a good idea, i like that each level has his own mechanic but i think that 10s is a too long to wait. The level design is very consistent and it feels pretty good to play. Maybe it could be interesting to have a timer that reset each 10 seconds instead of a global timer. I like the pixel art. Good job !

Based on some great feedback, level 2 was too frustrating... Good news, I've moved it to the end and made the "impossible" jump a bit easier too.
@kory and @tharky, now you can try the other three levels if you want (they're lots more fun!)

@sslees Thanks! I replayed it and did the Leap of Faith down the abyss :D Fun concept of changing mechanics through levels!

@sslees OOO nice! Yeah I tried it out, those speed boosts were no joke they spooked me
I forgot to mention, I've never played a game where grabbinga a coin slowed you down so much, that was kinda interesting I wonder if something cool would happen if you leaned into that more
cool game, really enjoy games that implement the theme in more than one mechanic, I like how every level have its own quirks and level design, that sneaky sneaky leap of faith got me more times than I'm willing to admite lol, I think some pitch randomization on the sound effects could add a bit more favor to the game, but all in all I did enjoy playing it, nice work!
The fact that you used colliders with physical implications for the coin pickups bothers me, because you can jump and bonk your head on coins. On the other hand, you can "land" on a coin and get your double jump back.
Other than that, it was cool to see new mechanics introduced for each level.
I really like how you used this theme in a platformer, altering the mechanics of the game as opposed to "something happening" every ten seconds. Very clever.

@testsubject06 totally fair! I actually have the coins and the ground in the same tilemap, which I thought would be clever until it wasn’t… I think if I could do it over, I’d either use an overlapping tilemap with different collision bits, or just instantiate sprites at those coordinates when the level starts. Curious what others would recommend for this.
Oh man that got tough quickly with the gravity flipping. I'd make a minor suggestion to make his jumps bigger so as to make progress easier, it meant waiting on platforms for the flip to happen to make it across the gap.
