I enjoyed the game. I think the game becomes a lot of spamming space bar. However, the idea of the game is well executed.
Foon → Ludum Dare Explorer → LD51 → Silver Platter

This is fantastic, prob my fav LD51 game so far :)
Banger song. Good visuals. I typically like games that require multitasking so this was up my alley. Wrapped in a nice menu, too.
That said: Game's really hard. I think the most viruses I got was three, and I don't think I was ever able to fix the hard drive trouble. Possible I was doing something wrong. Could've used control prompts in the game window instead of just hidden in Help.
Solid entry
The art looks so goofy, love it
This is an ambitious and visually appealing game with a killer ost. The gameplay is also very well thought out and responsive. I will say, however, that it took me a long time to figure out. Once I got the hang of it, I was able to score 50, but that was after probably 10 or 15 runs of trying to figure out how to kill viruses, what was going on on the right half of the screen, and so forth. It's pretty fun once it all comes together, but I'm not sure I understand why it has to be so unintuitive.
\> @quinn-patrick I agree that more effort could've been spent on teaching the players about the mechanics. I chose to play it safe and do something quite basic as opposed to something more complex like in-game tooltips, partially due to laziness but also because when I began making the how-to-play screen there were like 3 hours left in the compo. In addition to this, I usually prefer to avoid bombarding the player with a lot of crammed info text, as that tends to be offputting to somebody about to try a game (at least it is to me); striking a balance between this and properly explaining the complex mechanics is difficult, and I probably handled it improperly for this game. Glad you find it fun though, and thanks for the detailed feedback.
\> @googlypoo Reiterating what was said a few lines above, the mechanics are a bit tough to grasp at first, and the insufficient or lack of in-game information/tutorials doesn't do that problem any favor. Sorry about that.
\> @gangure Adding some form of measure to prevent just blindly mashing the space bar is something I hadn't thought of and would actually be a great addition. Thanks for pointing that out.
Great art, music, and gameplay! The multitasking idea was great! It was pretty hard, but still very fun. The controls were a bit wacky though (although it may just be me) - why not just WASDX and spacebar? I agree with others that better tutorials would be must better. Great job and this is one of the best games I have played so far.
Cool concept fun game
Amazing entry! The gameplay was a lot of fun (once I figured out exactly what I was doing). Having to keep track of both sides kept either from feeling repetitive. The art style was a lot of fun, the SFX worked well, and the music was fantastic. Thanks for sharing!
Neat use of theme. I like that you have different difficulties but I found easy to be way too hard. Collision is hard to tell for some enemies. Sometimes I felt like the enemies should have died but they didn't. I think swaping the position of the two games would make it easier because it's easier to look forward than it is to look back for the running game. I loved the music and wiggly art. Good job.
Interesting concept that is well executed, Also the art was pretty awesome :3
Great take on the theme, in the group of "do a thing every 10 seconds", but splitting the game into 2 parts was a refreshing idea! I don't know if there was anything else that played up the theme beyond the harddrive breaking every 10 seconds, but one idea to include the theme more strongly would be to have a special power-up or enemy appear every 10 seconds as well.
Art was well done, reminded me of a Putt Putt style game, or Earthworm Jim for some reason. It had a great aesthetic and everything felt cohesive. I think the animations looked great, like the wiggling of the disk head, or the jumping of the character.
The gameplay was fun, but had a much higher barrier to entry than I was expecting. I think a future release might benefit from having the player first do each of the activities by themselves for a short period before having to do them both together. I don't think I made it more than 2 enemies for my first 15 tries, but once I got the hand of it and understood everything I was looking at / doing it became a lot more fun. I enjoyed the "parry" mechanic though it didn't feel perfectly crisp when executing it, there were somes times that it felt like it hit early / late (though I'm pretty bad at platformers so it could just be me).
I got 25 and felt pretty good about that! Neat art and a fun entry into the underserved "multitasking game" genre. I could tell when to use the brush since the platter would start turning red: was there supposed to be a similar tell for the wrench?
This game made me very nostalgic for flash games. Very nice!
Great game, love the goofy art
