nice art style. good sounds, especially as the monks speak

raivk 2022-04-04 20:29

Oh no the fish destroyed my wooooorld!!

kraghan 2022-04-04 21:03

@mira the voices are Aymeric and Elodie's voices. I'm pretty sure your comment make them happy. They had a lot of fun recording them.

arihan10 2022-04-04 22:21

Nice game! Although I found the connection to the theme to be a bit lacking, the game was very funny overall and I thought it had a lot of content for something produced in 48 hours. Good job!

kraghan 2022-04-05 06:39

Thank you for playing @arihan10! The idea was to delay the inevitable end of the world but I agree that this idea is maybe not so clear through the Gameplay. Thank you for the feedback

mira 2022-04-05 08:12

@kraghan I bet it was fun. I remember our LD 48 entry when we almost rolled on the floor laughing as we recorded sounds for dwarves and whistled a funeral song.

nescience 2022-04-05 16:38

I'm sorry but its just a copy of REIGNS with a different context ?

kraghan 2022-04-05 17:28

@nescience yes exactly, but made in two days, with more bugs and a lot of fun while doing it :) I don't think you'll complain with all the tower defense game this theme will bring. I agree that we maybe don't twist enough the base concept, we focused first on making a playable and complete game.

boathd 2022-04-05 19:55

11/10 sound effects

bios3008 2022-04-05 19:56

Nice Art Game :)

derekbell 2022-04-05 20:00

Had fun playing, for some reason it launched SteamVR alongside it haha. Great job for 48 hours! art and sounds were great

kraghan 2022-04-05 20:06

Oh god X) I made that mistake last jam too. I'm going to disable it @derekbell ! Thank you for the feedback

julienmc 2022-04-05 21:25

Cool game and great visuals!

jonl13 2022-04-05 21:55

Awesome game, I had a great time with it!

mooptychunk 2022-04-05 22:19

Nice. I like sex!

evolution101 2022-04-06 00:50

The spaghetti plate is truly horrifying, thank you for introducing this concept.

fromage 2022-04-06 04:07

Works great! Felt a bit hard to get a hold on what I am doing over time...though that was an issue I had with reigns too, to be fair.

ldp 2022-04-06 17:52

Hey! As a Reigns lover, I quite like your universe. Of course, I would have loved to see some twist compared to the original game but it's a jam game after all... We really feel that you had fun making it and your art and narratives are really good. Great work.

firesong-bard 2022-04-06 21:57

I had a blast trying to get all the different (inevitable) endings! Great sense of humor, and it sounds like your VAs had a lot of fun with this too!

aerloth 2022-04-06 22:13

WHY THE SINK IS ON FIRE. I found it hard to resist the charming goat, and the way it verbalized the choices and opportunities... And I have also learned an useful fact about northern france that was unexpected...

Would love to see some more extended "stories" that come back after some time etc.

Nice entry, I enjoyed the time I spent with the Gods of Discord (for some reason after reading the title first thing I expected was a Discord Server simulator game)

superpokeunicorn 2022-04-07 05:07

Cute little concept. I like the Tinder-like interface paired with Lovecraftian horror. I will say that I wasn't sure as I was playing whether the meters going up was a good or bad thing, but I figured it out in the end. Overall, a charming little experience. Nice work!

kraghan 2022-04-07 06:43

@fromage yeah that's difficult with this kind of game, but I'm thinking how I can fix this issue ^^ I'm sure there's solutions

@ldp I'm thinking how to play with this basic idea and add more games in the game (like the dungeon phase in the first reigns). I'm pretty sure there is some cool things to do ^^

@aerloth the sink is not on fire 😂 it's tentacles. Don't take the joke about the northern France first degree, it's a typical cliché that we had here (like a lot things we wrote for this game, it's fulllll of cliché). Our game system allow us to have some extended stories but the feature appeared lately and the writing was almost finished. So it was hard to add it in the lasts mi nutes. (and you are not the first one telling me that they think it was a Discord game XD)

battlecat 2022-04-07 12:27

Intersting game. I liked the graphics and the general mood, but unfortunately I did not understand the questions. I figured out that I had to balance the symbols in the top, but I didn't understand how I could predict how the questions and my replies would impact them.

nocuous-pinch 2022-04-07 15:05

i really like the game :D. kinda confuse at first on which and what are yes and no until i realize the word on card are the answer for the question. i've never tried Reigns before so i dunno how close this game to the other game. overall really cool :D.

cubanfrog 2022-04-07 21:52

The premise is fun, as are many pieces of art and writing! Sometimes it's not very clear what you're actually being asked, though, and the gameplay could use a refreshing twist. I also ran into a bug with the game automatically choosing for me in a couple of cases (a choice was made as soon as the text and portrait came up).

The length of the game is perfect for an homage, though.

pwnofprophecy 2022-04-08 18:37

As someone that loves the Reigns games, this is awesome. Fantastic thematic spin on that formula and the humor is on point. Great work!

lukuluk 2022-04-09 23:46

Thanks for this neat and generous game! Some feedback: - I got very often the same cards again, but it's enderstandable since it is a jam game ^^ - I did not feel like a tension was growing up, with more instability setting in, or cards that change the experience overtime so I make mistakes. - About the controls, I was really often confused on the fact that "left click" is a sort of agree and "right click" is disagree. You could argue that it is the case with the swipe gameplay of Reign, but in the case of a mouse, the "validate" input is more standard as an action to Validate something... - Since you made it on Unreal, I guessed that perhaps you would have a transition to a 3D game world at some point xD Or perhaps it is the case when all success are unlocked? :stuck_out_tongue:

kraghan 2022-04-11 07:33

Hi @lukuluk ! Thanks for playing :) * About the cards, it's a real easy fix, I never imagined that with amount of cards we made I'll had to do it X) that's all * Our game is not balanced at all and it's a real problem (I need to do stats to track how much every god is affected). A good add could a be downward spiral mechanics : the worst it is, the worst your cards will be. * I had many feedback about the controls. In facts I was lazy and didn't wanted to make the swipe system to focus on the core gameplay, so I just plugged two inputs with a secondary click to confirm a choice. It confuse many people (some of them didn't understood that you have to possible choice, one on right and one on left and that you could choose the one you wanted). All our choices didn't match the "agree" / "disagree" pattern and during the writting phase, everybody didn't choose the same input for the same choices. * Using unreal for this is completly overkill I know ahah but it was the only tech that everybody know in the team and it was also the only one installed on our computers X). We decided to use that before the jam and before knowing the theme (the other members of the team are all 3D artists so naively I thought we will make a 3D game.)

kamuniaft 2022-04-16 18:56

The texts and arts are brilliant, I was smiling constantly while playing :) Card interaction sfx is juicy and feels rewarding. Controls looks simple, but I was picking the wrong answer from time to time anyway. + Wish the answers texts font is a bit bigger. Overall - that was the most funny experience to me during this LD, thank you folks :)
