seemed like a fun game, but my characters kept getting stuck on the crates :/
oof. sorry for getting stuck! Does it happen on all crates, or just some places?
Hey @badcop I am sorry you experienced stucks. I fixed the problem and I uploaded a new build. Would you mind trying the game once more and update your scores accordingly :v:
@sopata oh nice! I didn't rate yet, I'll give it another go tomorrow :)
Absolute chaos, absolute mayhem, insanity and I'm there for all of it. Love the characters, the game feels fantastic, once it gets hectic it just doesnt stop which is good and the music absolutely hammers the urgency of the situation down. Overall great experience, if this had more than one level I'd pay money for this.
Hi @sopata I played your game on the stream today and it was great experience. I don't think it was fun because it was supposed to make me sweaty and pressured and it did. I liked sinking boat concept, liked characters (somehow the BigGuyâ„¢ resonated with me more), humorous approach and overall experience.
That game is definitely something you should be playing in local co-op, unless you are like ambidextrous or have galactic brain. For things that messed up my experience was definitely collision problems, perhaps accepted range of enabling activates and being able to start action when it was already too late. But that's nothing that can't be adjusted.
At the end, my ship might have sunk, but my heart will go on :notes:
Thanks, @initialposition and @haayaargh for playing the game! I fixed the collision problems and expanded the accepted range for enabling activities. Now the game is much more enjoyable - thanks to your feedback! :v:
That was kinda of a heck of a lot. I really liked the idea but it was just like, too much to process at once. The water was also a bit bright compared to everything else so it was a bit hard to focus. Overall like, really cool!
Great game! Very polish and the visual is amazing! Good job!!! 5/5
I realy like your Whater shader :O
That was pretty fun! Definitely an anxiety simulator. I think the water pump mechanic was glitched though. I would pump out water and then the pump would quickly reappear with a small amount of 'health' left as if I didn't go all the way. So towards the end there were water pumps everywhere and I couldnt get rid of them.
I dont remember my exact score but it was around 2:30.
Good job making something truly unique
You can see a lot of work here, I think in general something very good was done. It's hard to really play, at least for me, many tasks at the same time. The model and art is very good, without a doubt you can continue working to polish it more. I liked the design of characters and objects a lot, and the music almost made me think I was in a "pirates of the caribbean" movie jaja! great job! xD
Cool game idea, the music is excellent, but it's a pity, I just didn't quite understand: for how many people is this game intended? Basically it's a great game!)
Awesome jam entry, playing this with two people each controlling one character could be quite fun too! Good effort, really enjoyed this one :)
An awesome entry! Love the water ripples, the assets, and the pirate atmosphere. Frantic, engaging, and exiting - plus, that hilarious buff from regrouping at the bow.
One thing to note: for me, this launches Steam VR whenever is is run, and trying to close Steam VR exits 'Im On A Boat' as well - not a huge deal, just something to be aware of. I've seen this with unreal jam games before, likey just some checkbox in the developer settings.
At first it was definitely hard to adjust, but after already a couple of tries I started to make some progress and the game became quite fun. The art, animation, and sound effects are top notch! (p.s. the Titanic bonus got me laughing xD)
Sorry to all the commenters for the late reply - I was off for a few days.
@skleembof - At the final stage of the game (around 2:30), something breaks every 3.5 seconds (either a crate or a pump). So you can just fix a pump and if it happens that these 3.5 seconds just passed, it can break again looking like a bug. That usually happens if all other pumps are broken as well  . Probably this is a bad game design and I need to ensure that after you fix something it does not break for 10 secs for example but I wanted to emphasize the LDJ theme and to plant the feeling of inevitable sinking in the player's head.
@alexsolonnikovp4 - The game is intended to be played by 1 person so it feels more unique. As others commented, the game is pretty fun in Co-op as well. But it can get a bit easy since it is balanced for 1 person only. Maybe we can add a Co-op mode but I fear it will remind the players of Overcooked in some sense.
@ugly-robot - I've heard of that SteamVR issue and it is weird that it happens only for certain people. Do you have a VR set and libraries installed? Thanks for reporting the problem. I've researched a bit and found out that you have to specifically disable some VR plugins in UE4 if you don't want it to attempt to start your packaged game in VR. #justUEthings
@ugly-robot & @lazy-fox - Glad you enjoyed the game and found that hidden Titanic sequence (not mentioned in the rules). We kind of wanted to achieve that shocker moment - having something super out-of-place and funny but at the same time slows the game, gives some breathing space, and lets you look at your ship and prioritize what needs to be fixed first.
And finally, for all of you and the rest of the commenters, I will definitely make time to try out your games and leave insightful and honest comments
@sopata Yeah, I have a vive, and so have steam VR installed - but I do not have UE, so unfortunately I can't troubleshoot more than to say some UE jam games I play start steam VR, and some don't - sorry I can't be of more help! Like a said, not really an issue anyway
I like the voxel art in this game. The game mechanics was hard to get custom to but I enjoyed the chaos game design. Good job
Oh my goodness I love this! It's frantic, the soundtrack is an excellent complement, and I love the characters.
It's tough making a game where you control two characters at once, but I think you struck the right balance of keeping the events simple enough to manage. The inclusion of both character-specific tasks as well as repairs being accomplished by either character does a lot to help this. I think with some more development I'd love to see this as a multiplayer couch co-op game!
The Titanic event was 10/10. Took me completely by surprise
I see from the other feedback that other people have already reported this, but I'd just like to mention that Steam VR also interrupted the game on launch. It's wild to me that it must be a default setting in UE4, but hey, that's development for you.
Glad that you liked the game! Always good to hear that people find the Titanic sequence quite funny - we kept it a secret so you are expected to be caught by surprise  As I stated in one of my previous comments - we wanted to have something super out-of-place and funny but at the same time slow the game, give some breathing space, and let the players look at the ship and prioritize what needs to be fixed first.
It is good that people reported the Steam VR problem - I will disable these plugins in my future jam entries. I will have to check how things are organized while packaging in UE5, though, as this will probably be my last UE4 submission
