Really nice ambience and the card selection mechanic is nicely done! Some really promising concepts but the sound design is a definite highlight. Love the card monte!

This was really fun! My main issue is that I couldn't manage to make the window any bigger, so everything was on the small side. But I had a good time playing (just leaning forward a bit), and I adored "Card Monte." (I really had to keep an eye on that shield!) Lovely work, everyone!
I really enjoyed the art style and the drawing around the menu selection. Thought That was really cool.
First off, I love the dithering work you guys did here. It's not a style I've ever used myself, so i imagine it's very easy to get it wrong. Props to you.
Unfortunately this one didn't grab me at first. There's not much of a threat of failure here, and being docked points for using card monte too many times wasn't very obvious or meaningful to me. Honestly the card monte is probably the most engaging part of the game.
Once I read the invitation to share times though, that was the kick I needed to have much more fun with the game.45sec.png, hardmode speed.png Here are my best times after a few playthroughs of each difficulty.
I couldn't figure out the rules at first...But anyways I managed to win the game. Nice job. I actually look forward to being able to see the complete version of the game.
Very cool! I like the style y'all employed
@badbill thank you! Pixel art is a very fun and comforting for Me(Bear). Thank you for giving our game a try!
@crotonyl-alcohol Thank you for giving Deck O' Discord a try! I believe our little submission can become exponentially more fun once we flesh out more of the key features!
@mistercheezymoon Thank you for the kind words and the feedback! Really appreciated! Im glad we could entice you to challange our little submission. Due to time constraints we saw ourselves scrambling for assets and content and were not able to invest into an in game "How to". These are great time scores you show us that could even rival The programmer(Cake) who, replayed the game time and time again, through till the end of the game jam. Please look forward to a mor fleshed out version of Deck O' Discord!
@cam-moore thank ypu for the feedback! The programmer and I enjoyed the final product aswell!
Great atmosphere! Maybe a visual indicator to show where the player can move would be better to understand the movement phase directly
Wasn't really sure what was happening but still managed to win, perhaps it's too easy. Also, some of the text was too small to read. Anyway, I really enjoyed the pixel art, especially the user interface stuff.
I really enjoyed this game being more strategy based than most of the other jam games and would have loved to see the extra content in there although I can totally empathise since we've had to cut content in every jam! It wasn't immediately obvious to me that you had to reach the other side so I'm not sure if I missed something but some kind of indicator would have been good! I also couldn't see any advantage to not going straight across but I guess the "metal detector" card would have added that extra strategy in choosing where to go.
I love the idea of going for points or a quick time since that definitely increases the replayability of the game! It would have been nice to see a point counter and/or timer so you know where you're at when trying to beat your own high score. The addition of hard mode was great as well adding to that replayability without having to increase your jam workload too much by adding a bunch of new features.
The graphics were really nice and fit the vibe of the game really well. The added touch of the animation on the card made the game so much more polished without even being something I noticed at first so love that! I liked the different sounds effects as well which made the game more responsive and engaging. Again, the little touch of even the start menu sound effects. I did find the music a little repetitive although it was nice and soft so didn't get annoying.
Overall, really great job making such a polished game as a pair!
That's a great game.
You may have lacked time to implement some mecanisms (especially about unstability, because here there's not this aspect much), but looks like a legit game you would download on a appstore.
The graphics are so cool and polished, with small animations. Well, since I am of those who don't really read instructions, I was a little bit lost but thankfully I quicky took the grip. It would have been better to have a starker difference between each phase instead of just been written in the top right corner, but I guess you didn't have enough time.
About time and score, I'm not really a performance player, so I quickly forget. But I can say I died many times on normal run (because I was curious, I'm not so bad I swear). I also died in Hard Mode, when I was on the last tile.
Very interesting game with a very nice card game mechanics! Very good graphics & sounds. Great job!
At the begining it controls felt little akward, but after few minutes I was hooked! Great game, had very much fun with it!
