there is a collision bug here:
Capturar.PNG
I don't know if the x position of the ghost should be stationary when it is on a plataform.
The art and music are great, nice work!
Good job! For a first game for many of your team members, this was really good. A lot better than my first game for sure. I loved the music. It really (literally) set the tone for the game. There were some minor quirks and bugs in the movement, and I feel that some faster moving platforms made it hard to keep up. Other than that, I really liked the art as well, the whole game looks great. Great job, and good luck for the coming games!
I like pixelart.
Very atmospheric and cute game!! It was much more in depth that I orginally expected, so much level design!! Awesome job. Also I like the piano music a lot!! :)
I fell off the map on the right side and just remained in blue limbo.
I reloaded the page, then I moved to the left side and the game restarted.
Then I began jumping the platforms. The moving platform doesn't really carry the ghost so I had to awkwardly move along with it, but I made it across. After a while I jumped over a ninja and suddenly I was transported to an interior area. I didn't know what to do inside, so I just kept moving to the right. I was then transported to rooftops. I moved to the right and fell down, back into blue limbo. I just don't know what to do and where to go.
The art is cute, but differently-scaled 2D assets are a big pet peeve of mine. Taking the log platform and scaling it up, giant pixels in the otherwise pleasant looking skybox. Then razor sharp spikes on the floor trap. There's no uniformity to the art style there.
The music was pretty and soothing, but there's a good bit of white noise throughout.
All in all, I feel like you're on the right track for a platformer, but the intended direction was just unclear to me.
Nice graphics! Platforming was pretty smooth. I do wish you moved with the moving platforms instead of falling off of them.
A fun game. Just to add one thing, when I fall from too high the lives are greyed out and I take a long time to die when I think it should be almost instantaneous.
The art is pretty, riding the platforms is a bit tricky but I guess that's where the theme comes in ;)
In the "city" level I went exploring and fell down and the game wouldn't reset so I had to reload and start over entirely.
One thing about the double jump, the way it works (adding momentum instead of setting upwards momentum to a fixed value), you get BY FAR the most air if you immediately use both of your jumps. Not sure if that's intended.
Overall very nice job, espacially for your fist game :)
Nice work! I like the pixel art and sounds. However I got stuck at 3rd stage? Can't jump higher enough and keep falling from it.
Nice game :) Only thing I'd nitpick is that I wish it was more clear where and when the level ends (I accidentally fell from the top of the end of level 2, then level 3 started and at first I thought I was back to level 1 again)
Thanks for your feedback everyone! We're really happy you enjoyed the art and music :D We'll take on board your suggestions and keep in mind what we can do better for future jams, like better quality control for mechanics (that's on me~)
Yep, there are some bugs with the game. Most of the major ones were fixed, but as you may have guessed we were working right up to our limits with Ludum Dare.
Since the void and teleport issues seem to be a major playability factor, I'll roll out an additional bug patch fixing *only* those void and teleport issues later today. You'll of course be able to access older builds and the changelog.
I really like the music! And the art was great. One thing I had issues with was distinguishing between what was background and what was a platform when you're on the big skyscraper. But well done, the double jump felt great!
Very good graphics and consistent gameplay! I appreciate the number of stages that you did for a 72h jam. Great work! I realy enjoy it!
I agree with what was said earlier about the double-jump seemingly giving you a large impulse when you double-tap jump immediately. I found I was making every jump by doing the double-tab. Also the layout of the keys was a bit awkward; I ended up using arrows for left and right and w to jump. A separate jump key from the WASD/arrows would have been easier.
I also had no idea what was going on :)
On the plus side, art style and music were great.
Some platforms were annoyingly slow and the fast ones were hard to stay on. I'm not sure if the ghost not sticking to platforms was part of the theme. I pushed through and climbed to the top of buildings and on top of one the game just ends, was that the ghost trying to ascend to heaven?
I liked the art and animation of the characters and the music was great!
the music was really amtopheric and i also liked the art style. though i have to admit that i am not really sure how this connects to the jam theme all too much. the movement was nice. the platforms were a bit too slow in my opinion. overall great game for many first time participants :)
Good job finishing your first game! For me it was not very clear what was the goal of the game apart from jumping on the platforms (I mean for example who were the people on the building and why should I care proceeding on the levels?). The audiovisual side was really good and it set good atmosphere to the game. Instakill when moving to wrong direction was a bit confusing in the beginning and doesn't encourage trying different things. Anyways, keep up the good work! :)
Gratz on your first entry! I'm not quite sure how the theme of Unstable fits into the game, but it was an enjoyable experience, relatively bug free. The audio added to the immersion so the platformer doesn't really feel boring because of that. But yea, good job!
I like the artstyle and sound design! Horizontal movement was a little too uncontrollable for me for a platformer, and elevators are toooo slow, give them some speed. UwU Also it would be nice if you write down about the double jump on the page or in the game, at the beginning I didn't understand how to reach the platform :D
I love the graphics! There's a lot of variety with the backgrounds, and I really appreciate the effort spent making them all so different. I feel like the moving platforms should carry the ghost with it's movement. having to walk along the platform as if it's slipping under my feet just feels awkward.
I also love the characters, like the ninja or the businessman. There's a lot of fun to be had with the art in this game! The music is really cool too! Great work.
congratulations on completing a game, not bad at all for being the first. Nice graphics, and beautiful music. The control could be improved a bit but it hasn't stopped me from enjoying it.
Good game, very fun, I just wish you moved with the moving platforms
Good game, the mood, the music and the design of the ghost really got me into it, however the character and the other sprites have an different style and this breaks a little, also the gameplay could have some tweaks, the player move too fast in the x-axis but the jump is slow and short, also have some collision bugs, however overall amazing for an first game and I wish an good jam for you all ^^
Fun to play platform game, I like the jazzy blues music, it suited the feel of the game quite well. I liked the way you had to move the ghost with the moving platform to stay on it. Also liked the pixel art of the buildings too, good work
For no prior gamedev experience, doing a jam with this end result is impressive. gj
This was a fun but eerie experience. The music gave it a feeling of gravitas, but the reason for that was unclear. It felt like a mystery with no answer.
I left it feeling curious.
