Hey this is a neat little concept for a game. Is the level infinite? Is there a way to die? I think it has huge potential to turn this into a full game. For some reason the music stopped after a few seconds? Well done!
Foon → Ludum Dare Explorer → LD48 → Greedy Miner

I can see great potencial in this game
It would be so great to see adding turets to the cart, diffrent turrets types diffrent enemies and increased numbers of them
like a dynamic tower defense
Imagine hordes of enemies and like 10 turrets on the cart with speedy player running around that would be so great
I thought there is no progression :id: Than trader appeared :) Mechanics are unclear tbh what am i suppoused to do and why?
I was a little bit confused at first. However cool graphics and idea! I would pump up a little bit the feedback
Great game. I think boosting the difficulty a bit would be nice.
Very well put together. I very much like the graphics and sound effects are not disruptive. On the gameplay side, I think it's very slow and more challenge wouldn't hurt. Also would love to see some indicator when will trader appear.
This is a great concept, it feels like a very interesting spin on the Tower Defense genre, but with more agency given to the player. I like the mechanics of mining - I thought at first that I just need to hold E, but you actually need to click it repeatedly to swing the pickaxe, which is a really good touch.
One bug I noticed is that not all mined ore gives you a gold nugget - unless this is by design? If that's the case, it would be nice to have it explained too.
I would definitely love to see this expanded into a bigger game!
Made it a bit over 76km. I liked most of the things, but some things are a bit unclear. For example, trader seems to appear randomly? Would be nice to see indication showing when the next trader is going to appear. Also, not sure if I was doing something wrong but some rocks weren't dropping any gold.
But, like I've said, I've enjoyed it overall and will definitely do at least few more runs :)
Good game, but it would be good to boost a difficulty, add some mechanics to make game more interesting and tell a player about trade, everything else was made good. Well done!
Thank you all for your feedback!
I will try to shed some light. -It seems like it doesn't give any gold, because we use float for it and sometimes you mine only portion of it. It's caused by our infinite-balancer mechanic. -The music loop bug is weird, it hapens only in WebBuild, we will try to investigate. -Thank you for that trader idea, you are absolutly right. -Trader appers firstly at 5km and then we always add some more kms through our balancing mechanic, so it always depends on the state of your game. -It seems like its too easy? To be honest, I wasn't able to reach 50km regurarly :/
i like the music and graphics a lot. the gameplay is a neat idea. I just think it could be balanced a bit to make it more fun. as others have mentioned there's nothing really stopping you or changing it up as you go on. it feels very infinite runner. so more of a challenge or evolution of things would be cool. got a bit of an unrailed vibe from it which might have some neat mechanics to incorporate like getting different train cars that do different things. great job.
Cool game. I like the aesthetic and character art.
Great art! would have loved to see some change in the environment but I assume the time frame didn't allow it, maybe in the full game! took me a while to understand they're coming for the cart and not for me, loved it.
I do feel your cool mechanics and great pixel art deserve a little bit more lore or serious feel to them, just calling the dude greedy feels like downplaying your dark and cool vibes :)
It has a lot of thing for a 3 days game! it is really fun, congrats
Cool idea! I liked the atmosphere of haunted mines and the mood of the game as whole. The idea that you need to keep up with the mine cart if you want to have light is nice. Some feedback when you hit the ghosts or when they hit you would be nice, but overall cool concept!
Nice game. Great opening music and I also like your pixel art. The controls work fine and it is great that it is basically an endless game. If it would get more difficult the longer you play it would be even better, but overall a fun little game.
@marcari Thanks for your feedback. Do you know if balancing is against the rules or not? I would love to balance it so it is not as easy as everyone says, but I don't wanna break the rules :/
Great game guys, I think that the fire rate can be a little bit higher but I had a good time playing it. Solid submission!
You managed to keep me playing a lot longer than I anticipated. Great job! The resolution was too high for my laptop, I had to zoom out to see all the UI elements.
@kelian @bitshift Thank you for your feedback and we are really happy you took time with it.
Great game! I dont see anyone else mentioning this but the background music kinda just went poof and disappeared on me! Overall really like the theme and mood, would love more feedback on the game! I think it would really hhelp immerse the player in the atmostphere more! :D great work!
@wallkysek Balancing may be abit of a stretch, rules say that debugging is okay but adding features is not, as long as u add a changelog to ensure fairness. If the balance doesnt make the game unplayable, then i would say maybe not? :( Honestly the game is still fine so no worires about it! :D
Awesome character and enemy art, love it, but I would like to see an update soon
I only made as far as 35km before dying :(
Very nice prototype! I love the idea, a kind of rogue-like RPG adventure where you must protect the train on its never-ending journey to some mysterious destination. I would definitely like to see a fully-fleshed out version!
Nice game! have a lot of fun playing it =) like the idea, art, gameplay..everything! an indicator for when i hit an enemy would be nice..or maybe a health bar for them? sometimes I'm not sure wether I hit them. Love the upgrades as well btw! will probably play it a few more times C:
btw Its really challenging imo.. i have trouble getting past 25m^^
Thank you all for your feedback, we really appreciate it! @keppersnapper Thank you for your feedback. You are right about the music and it's happening only in HTML5 version, we can't crack why and I think it's returned Bug in Unity, there was known similar bug with exactly our symptoms. Thank you about the rules note, we will keep it as it is, every gamer is a bit different so maybe for someone it's just the right amount.
@junamai Thank you for suggestion and I fully agree. To be honest, music and balancing was our most trubling topic. Neither of us had any previous experience and machinima came to late for us.
Nice game! I got to 91520m, stopped by a very brutal bat-monster fight. Great difficulty curve :)
Agreed with junamai it's missing a feedback when we hit an enemy otherwise everything else is really great !! Your pixel art is beautiful your gameplay idea is really cool and well exectuded and I found that the difficulty is well balanced ( even if I reach only 20955m ^^' ) So really great job !! :D
Fun game! The fact that the cart runs on a seemingly random generated track keeps it interesting! Enemy variety is fun, the cart with the turret too! If you ever make this a full game it would be nice to add more carts at some point as an upgrade. Also like others say the trader appearing was a bit unclear. A little bug I found was that when I mined gold and try to mine one right next to it it wouldn't let me, I needed to get out of the hitbox first. Awesome game you guys!
Nice fun game loop, although it got a bit repetitive after a while. Often my shots hit the targets (or at least I thought) but they didn't die, I feel like they could use health bars or something.
Art style kind of reminded me of forager which is neat.
This is super fun. Very addictive. I can see this getting fleshed out with more upgrades (adding additional turret carts, different weapon types, etc) and more enemy types and minerals that spawn later on.
Really cool game! The atmosphere and the animations are awesome, something I would improve is that the UI was too big for my screen and I would add more enemy types. Overall is great.
