Very cool game, There is some really awesome ideas in here that honestly I don't know if they just weren't polished up or they were meant to be confusing because it seemed perfect to NOT know how to play for some reason!
Liked I your game... a lot
Jokes aside it's surprisingly deep you make a robust rpg battle system within a weekend that's respectable indeed my addition would be instead of using water_31 earth_3 etc you could use a name generator but I don't think that your game is not understandable yes might a bit confusing but every rpg has that, Congrats :)
Erm, I'm stuck on the intro screen with the writing, does this game require network connection? perhaps there's a problem? It's a shame because the use of the theme looks very innovative to me - I haven't seen a game like yours yet, the graphics and the music are excellent too!
@chironyx really sorry that it doesnt work for you. could you send a screenshot? did you click on the text/button? did you try the web version or the windows version? in general, network should not be needed - we're not sending analytics data or anything like that (didnt have time :) ).
@mlkvr thanks for your kind words! making all of this was a little over-ambitious in the end. we really went into crazy time-trouble in the end.. loads of small things like the glyph-names just couldnt be completed. we couldnt complete AIs for 3 additional enemies we had made art for.
@ohmikron thank you! yeah, it actually is a mix of unpolished and the idea to overwhelm and confuse in this "nightmare-setting". had to cut lots of corners in the final hours, but that's the fun in jams, right? ;)
@thementalsheep thank you! the artist @harlequinsden did an amazing job. he had even more enemies ready, but we didnt manage to put all his content in. we will deliver an update independent from the gamejam entry next weekend.
Pretty cool idea, I just had no idea what I was doing haha. Felt like the card game version of button mashing.
When you start there is so much thrown at your face at once that it really feels like you are studying never before seen glyphs!

Ничего не понятно, но очень интересно!
Хотя игра еще в разработке, но задумка интересная. Если доведете до конца, может получиться интересная карточная RPG! ^_^
Overall a nice little game! Here and there could be some instructions and guidance for the player but overall great job!
Uh man, I really tried to understand what's happening, but I felt like clicking here and there randomly. I'm not a fan of card games, maybe that's the reason, but somewhy I felt I just don't know what's happening and why. The iconography looks really nice, but has no meaning at all to me. I tried understand it, but possibly I'm wrong in that :)
@mudlee you're absolutely right - the submitted state is quite overwhelming for the player. sadly, we didn't manage to get tooltips and the planned tutorial done before the deadline...
Once I got the hang of it I really enjoyed the rune casting mechanic. A little bit of a learning curve, but you mentioned a planned tutorial that would clear that issue right up. Great submission
Very Good mood !
Nice work on the variety of spell combos and glyphs.
very great and fun game! The only thing lacking is a tutorial!
I really enjoyed the character creation aspect! Choosing which spells to learn, which skills to upgrade, and which bonuses to get was a lot of fun. The fights themselves were a bit confusing, and I thought that the spells recharged a bit slowly (maybe that was just my build though). Still, it was fun exploring the different combos and I enjoyed playing!
Fantastic work for such a short time! The quality of the assets is amazing. Just wish there was a tutorial of some sort.
Took me a moment to properly get my head around how to play, but I really enjoyed it once I got it! Like others have mentioned a tutorial would have gone a long way, even in the description maybe? The game felt very polished and looked great. It was fun to play and makes for a nice entry, great job!
It took me a bit to understand the game mechanics but still, great job for this game. The art is just insane!
Great graphics for the battles, as well as the audio!
I didn't really get the difference between the shapes in battle and just basically cast random stuff for most of them - a tutorial and/or the names of them would have really helped. It was a very impressive and advanced system for a jam game though!
The graphics are outstanding - I felt a little bit lost in the gameplay attempting to figure out what the combinations are doing. Maybe some guided tutorial would have been great, so you can see what would be good in what kind of situations.
A really good entry! Marred only by its conveying of information. I think everything I have to say has either already been said and/or has is something you already know. The mechanics are well-thought out and have a lot of content to them, and seem like they have real layers of nuance and complexity to them, which is impressive for a jam. Voices always make the game better, like that too. The art is, of course, gorgeous, both of the character and the monsters.
The major flaw is just knowing in the moment what any of the runes did was impossible unless I went to the spellbook to look it up everytime, which isn't too fun, so I try to memorise it. That's not even an option in the levelling bit though, where the runes have fantasy names and no easy indication of the shape. The UI between the fights is a little strange in its wording too.
Well done though, lots of content, and an easily solvable main flaw given time, should you wish to extend the game.
I LOVE this concept. Spell casting is near and dear to my heart and I love the way it was presented here. There is much left to be desired from an animations and juicyness standpoint. That said, the bones of what you have here are awesome. Great work!
