Nice movement mechanics!

hotpaw 2021-04-25 20:29

Fun! It made me a little dizzy after a while, reminded me of one of those childhood toygames where you tried to move a ball through a maze with holes!

Really cool idea. If you wanted to expand on it idea. It would be cool to start with smaller levels and introduce more labyrinth mechanics as the game progresses. The pixel art is on point. A cool feature would be to briefly zoom out to see the whole labyrinth, I missed the second button the first time around which confused me a bit. Well done on the entry!

Like the idea :) I almost rage quit after 5 min, as my brain couldn't get a hold of the controls, I wanted to swap the A and D keys. But I didn't quit and did got to the box  Did spend way to much time on the second to last corner. :anger: Loved the music.

Fun game, I loved the art.

Pure fun. I especially appreciate the innovative controls (Although sometimes I felt sick. Even the carousels don't do me very well. :dizzy: ). Music nice, graphics fully sufficient for the chosen genre. It's just a pity that there are no more levels, I wonder what other puzzle elements you will come up with. Maybe it still occurs to me that I would like to play the same game but controlled by mouse movement, which could affect the speed of rotation.

I had fun controlling the maze. Good amount of difficulty.

andrewaprice 2021-05-02 12:49

Nice game. I love the concept. Controlling the maze was easier than I expected!

itsisaac 2021-05-02 12:54

Good game, however i felt sick after a short amount of time, think maybe due to the rotation speed maybe? Not sure :P

hoodedbale 2021-05-02 12:58

Love the graphics! Though i'm not sure if there was a purpose for the other props other than the switches and doors

Neat mechanis based on physics usage. Music sounds very friendly, calming and kind. Not sure that [Space] works for me in the Browser (Mozilla FF, Ubuntu), maybe alternative or other keys to open doors could be a better option for HTML5 version.

Your game reminds me of the Special Stages from Sonic! The art and the music were both very pleasant. Oddly enough ,I feel the dizziness more *after* playing than while I was playing.

I can see a lot of thought was put into the level design. There were times where I would miss my intended path and try to panic-turn my way out of it, only to get sent into a spiral of dead-end corridors. This spot in particular got me quite a few times:

My only complaint is that the red button was really hard to notice due to it being way up in the corner. I actually walked all through the level trying to hit "space" on different objects because I thought I had missed something.

Great work!

It's an interesting concept, but I'm just not good at these kind of physics-based games, I found it rather frustrating when the ball kept rolling down the wrong corridors and I quickly lost my patience, I didn't finish the first stage, sorry. There's a real-life aequivalent toy game where you have to roll a ball through a labyrinth, and I'm no good at that either :D Apart from that, I almost didn't see the second switch at first and wondered if I missed something obvious. The music and graphics are nice, I just think the switches should be more distinguishable from the doors. A suggestion for getting a better overview: make the whole level draggable via mouse, so you can plan your moves easier. I hope this doesn't come across too negative, it's just not for me.

Really liked the gameplay! It was fun and comprehensive and easy to control. I could only play for a couple of minutes though, game was making me a bit dizzy!

A fun little concept, and it's presented in a really pleasant way between both the graphics and music. The only real trouble I had was spotting the red button, as it blends in with the boxes pretty well. Swapping the color to something just a little bit further from that color would help with that part I think.

It's really fun to play around with overall though, even if the spin may be a bit too much for some people. I think just a tiny bit of extra polish on the player, like a subtle amount of bounce after a long drop and a collision sound effect, would really tie things together. Great work!

I liked this a lot, it could work really well as a mobile game using gyro controls to turn the map. Reminiscent of the special levels from the original Sonic.

Well done!

viperux 2021-05-02 19:32

I liked the concept behind the game. The graphic where nice :-) I would have loved to play more levels. To make it a bit harder you could insert some timed buttons, so that people have to run to the door before it locks again :-)

Congratulations on your game, even though it is an experimental game it shows signs of being a great project, in the future with the experiments you will reap great results, a big hug to the whole team, and I await your feedback on my project.

This is great, reminds me of an Amiga game favourite of mine called Bobs Bad Day. Also I like the relaxing music, fits the mood of the game. Nice work

fabula-rasa 2021-05-07 19:58

Short and sweet :). Music is nice and fits quite well, and graphics are simple and clean. Both go very well together.

I really enjoyed the core mechanics. It reminded me of one of those old toy labyrinth boxes with a small metal ball inside. There also you control the labyrinth to get the ball where you want it to be, albeit in a much more analogue way

Inserting some hazards into the labyrinth could increase the challenge here. But a relaxing experience is actually good too!
