Rabbit hole goes deeper and deeper

If the game isn't making any sense, turn on the sound.

Not quite what I'm used to seeing on LD, but definitely an interesting experience. Thanks :)

steambrain 2020-10-06 03:14

I think, I can guess which looped nightmare I'll be seeing tonight. Thanks for the experience. (The game engine kept sending me error messages, which certainly added some bonus eerines)

Interesting concept.. i think you can make it like a puzzle labyrinth

freddyturbina 2020-10-06 13:30

incredible! the music and the concept was great! i feel really scare not knowing what it would be around the corner. great job! the only thing i didn't like a lot is the platforming a little frustrating.

gorrgolem 2020-10-06 14:30

Thank you for playing guys:) @steambrain sorry for the debug thing, i rushed things in the end and forgot about it. @freddyturbina yup sorry about the platforming, i did'nt take enough time for testing, i shouldn't have made that last bit so difficult.

Wow, it was a bit creepy, specially the music, i killed the monster with a gun, really cool game overall, a bit spooky the artstyle but overall a nice experience.

You make trippy games. I know its unfinished but I really liked it, probably my favourite so far. It does take a while to make it to the end - perhaps a little more leeway for the player would make the platforming less frustrating. Really like how important the sound is, and the voice at the end after you kill the monster made me smile. Good job! :)

sarahs7 2020-10-06 19:41

Very clever. The monster made me jump and I cannot get that voice out of my head! Loop indeed! Well done!

toccio94 2020-10-08 10:50

It has potential, but is too short. Maybe a bigger corridor and other weird stuff appearing could have helped! The atmosphere is good

Edit After reading the comments I discovered I didn't understand the mechanic! I thought it was just the room, and didn't pay too much attention to what the voice was saying.

It's very moody and spooky, I liked it, even though platforming could be improved. Maybe the fact that the tiles are bound to the song could be made more noticeable? I'll play it again to see the evil guy at the end once again ahah, I liked him!

Always great to have a game compilled for linux!! The concept was really well executed, and the music change with the ending was a pretty good choice. I can't believe how long it took me to work out to follow the song's instructions. Glad i got the legendary gun ending. Excelent game!

codertrevor 2020-10-08 18:58

Creepy af! I think that music broke me. Good job!

raivk 2020-10-10 08:19

Nice entry, took me a little to while to trully understand how it works. But still managed to kill the monster. The music is quite creepy, nice mood you got there !

jk5000 2020-10-10 19:13

This is overall a fun and interesting little game. I believe I got to the end, but I am not totally sure. I will say it was a bit too difficult, but it was okay for a jam game. Overall is this a well made jam game. Well done.

kaafirookie 2020-10-14 15:14

The audio and mood of the game was pretty good, the movements and cycles were not that good for platforming. It was interesting game with cleaver usage of audio! had fun going down the rabbit hole!

kaldrin 2020-10-14 15:16

I was stuck in the loop of trying to figure out how it worked x') I managed to make it to the boss for some reason, and didn't know how to kill it :/

Overall the ambiance is disturbing, nice mood, but the patterns of the holes felt really random and I didn't know in which one I was supposed to fall, tried them all and somehow it worked in the end, though I couldn't beat the boss :c

This game is very confusing, for me at least, I'm sorry :/ Did not enjoy it much, but it looks quite decent, nice job on that ^^

jakob-reborn 2020-10-14 15:44

Wow, I almost missed it if not for the comment section!

Initialy I made it through the "first level" and thought "oh well, it's unfinished, that's the end" and oh boy I was wrong.

Maybe try communicating how it works to the player somehow? Really loved the audio use in this game, very satisfying ending. Wish there was more games like this, is there? Could you make more? :) Rated it super high! Yeah, movement is kind of clunky but who cares! Subbed to your itch as well

captainproton42 2020-10-14 16:18

That was certainly... interesting. Very eerie mood you set there. I found the platforming mechanics a bit hard but managed to push through in the end. As I said, really atmospheric, interesting entry. And quite well executed as well.

I think something would've helped is adding subtitles for the poem, since it was important for playing the game; lacking time for implement it in game, at least write the poem in the description (it would be a nice touch to replace the "Say something" in the current description as well)

I felt like the mouse sensitivity was too high, fortunately most of the game was a straight line so it didn't bother too much.

I liked how you conveyed progress with the drawings on the walls, and with the poem finally ending after defeating that creepy person.
