Nice one guys, cool game - looks nice :P Would've been really cool to introduce new types of enemies each new day.

We had planned for civillians and tanks as enemies too but just ran out time man! We're going to keep working on the game past the jam though and hope to implement those in the future.
had fun with this one! good job!
this game was legitimately fun, reminded me a little of rampage way back, 120 buildings destroyed and 69 cars totaled at the end, had a good time, I think this just needs a little more work with just adding a few more animations and it'd be a really great game, I liked the monster design a lot too
The game is entertaining, but it would make it even more fun if the dinosaur had more flexibility in movement :)
I like how you did it! Great graphic and logic, no bugs have been founded, and that is great!.Fun to play. One more question why do police cars cills huge moster soooo fast;)
The monster is a bit too big and moves too stiffly to avoid the bullets. Really nicely looking graphics and a polished feel. Good job!
Fun little game, I loved the sprite for the Kaiju. Great work!
Definitely got vibes of playing rampage on my spectrum with my brother. Nice idea and the art and character is great, along with the music. Mabye a little work to make the character move smoother but other than that, really good.
Love the music!
The monster sprite is also cute, though it seems his collision doesn't match with his size well, and crushing cars is a bit fiddly.
I ended up soft locked when I finished a level with 1hp, not sure if I just "ran out" of levels, or if there's a legitimate bug there.
Fun little game though. If you want to expand upon this, it probably needs a bit more variety in things to attack and threats, but overall I had fun playing it.
Nice work!
@fireslash That's a legitimate bug that has happened to me once or maybe twice in testing, but I can't replicate it or identify where the problem is. Thanks for letting me know your HP level at the time. I'll try to recreate that situation, but HP should not have any affect on it.
Every time a building is destroyed, a time variable increases by 1. There are 24 buildings, so when all are destroyed the time variable should be 24 (for 24-hours in a day). There is a parallel event (checking every frame) what the time variable is to control the screen tinting for the day-night system. The moment time>=24 then the loop change sequence begins. So either the time variable is not getting to 24 when all buildings are destroyed for some reason, or something is getting hung up in the loop change.
Nice retro feel! Only problem, i can't attack with space because it scrolls the page down (playing on firefox, with the browser version), but i can still use enter
@cookie-chr Thanks for letting me know about Firefox. And I tested it myself and see what you're talking about. Unfortunately I think this is just a Firefox + Itch.io issue. The workaround I found was to open the game full screen (there's a button in the bottom right corner), then click on the screen with the mouse once, then the keyboard controls will work fully as they should, including space. But yeah it took some playing around to figure that out.
It's always enjoying to be a giant monster destroying a city in a game. And here, it's over and over again, so more fun! Very well done!
I really love your game! congrats to your artist, the graphics are amazing <3. Just one thing, sometimes I get stuck when I am walking around and the mounster die .-. haha that's sad because I can't move to survive :C.Apart of that detail everything is cool!.
Great Game! Nice graphics!
I encountered three bugs: the level not resetting, sometimes my health didn't reset, and on my last playthrough on level 4, my health meter wasn't going down, although I was still taking damage. But don't let that discourage you, it wouldn't be a jam game without some bugs! :stuck_out_tongue:
This is a really fun game! I love being the monster destroying a city. You made some very good decisions, like letting the player destroy the squad cars by walking on them (that's so much fun!) and having them shoot at regular intervals so you can dodge the bullets. I would've liked to see a counter for which round I was on, but I see now after dying on my last playthrough that you do keep track of buildings and cars destroyed (I got 142 buildings and 92 cars).
Even with the bugs, this feels like a very complete jam game. It's fun, and it has good graphics and audio. I especially liked the day/night cycle. Great job!
@codertrevor Thanks for letting me know about the bugs. We're going to keep working on it through October and we'll post an update after the rating period ends. I've already cleaned up a lot of the code, which should take care of those bugs.
RPG Maker?! Nice! You did a good job of making a stompy satisfying kaiju time. I wish there was a little more variation in the level/enemies; I get that it's looping, but even this one level would benefit from more stuff!
Nice, love the concept of kaiju smashing, and good use of the theme. Cool music too. Gameplay is pretty solid though sometimes the controls felt a bit unresponsive, like you can't change directions quickly when moving, which felt a little weird. Gamepad support was very much appreciated though. The smashing was fun but got a little bit stale after a while without any new enemies or objectives. After 10 loops or so the game seemed to softlock, I destroyed all the buildings but it didn't progress to the next loop. Overall a pretty fun experience though, good work!
So I fought until there was nothing else to say!
· The narrative lines among loops made it more interesting.
· I had a good time until it started looping, I would have wished for an ending!
· If I was to fix something it would be the collisions, once you knew it was extremely easy to cheese.
Nice entry :·3
Nice! I like the concept, reading through the story premise behind why the game loops was entertaining! Neat explanation and nice tie-in to the theme. The hit box of the monster and the incoming projectiles are a little confusing though. He's so gigantic that it's hard to tell whether an incoming projectile is going to hit you or not, but you get a sense for it after a couple of play-throughs. The game is hard! Using buildings as cover seems to be the pro strat, lol. Mechanically and gameplay-wise a little barebones and repetitive, but the buildings look great, and I like the monster's animations! They are satisfying!
Fun little arcade game! Lacks a bit in content to break the repetition. Would have loved different enemies and different attacks for the monster. Something to change from just smashing and dodging would have been nice!
I really liked the game. I'd like to have the ability to regain health by destroying cop cars. Great job guys :v: :)
Amazing!
Very cool day-night cycle, a beautiful and fun game, congrats!
