@feiko Thanks man appreciate it!
hey :) not too shabby for a first jam, it's good to see you understood that basic visuals can make good graphics :)
you should damp the difficulty a little, make the violets polygons shoot only once they got to their orbit and make you player's bullet faster so we could have a better aim :) don't make the controls difficult, but the game itself :) (by the way, map 'left' to 'a' AND 'q' for azerty user :) )
@nelow Great suggestions! I was going to fix the shooting enemies to shoot at orbit but didnt have the time. Good point about the azerty controls I didnt think of that. Also yea the difficulty I had "difficulty" getting right xd. Thanks for the feedback!
Nice work! Only feedback I'd give has already been given
EDIT: The mainmenu was a little confusing, the title looked like another button
@lone-wolf Ah sorry about that I didnt think it would look like a button haha
Hey. I recorded a video about the Ludum Dare jam and included your game in it. If you want to cut your game out of the video, let me know. However, if you like the video, I make similar videos every day. I will be happy if you subscribe. Anyway, I enjoyed playing your game. https://youtu.be/01nA75SrbJs
@vlad-mgc Oh cool. Whats the video? Edit: Nvm I saw it. Glad you liked it!
The enemies spawn too fast! And there doesn't seem to be any music. Also there's no reason to move, you can just sit still and shoot. Still, I had fun playing and the graphics are simple but look good, which, as a programmer with no art skill myself, I can respect.
@juansabadoperon Yea I didnt have time to implement music and I've been told the difficulty was too high too so sorry about about that haha. Im glad you liked the art because I certainly dont have art skills xd. The movement was supposed to help with killing the enemies on a side but I forgot to tweak the shooting so you have to move xd. Thanks for the feedback though!
Hi, I think the game maybe is too difficult because the enemies move really fast. And it would be better if you add on some background music.
@yangying Yep! Music definitely needs to be there haha. Ive been told about the difficulty and yea I agree I should really fix that xd. Thanks for playing!
Congrats on publishing your first game! I was going to suggest almost exactly the same things as @nelow: it feels like the purple enemies start firing a bit too soon, and either enemies move too fast/often, or you shoot too slowly, it makes it hard to react.
If you want to keep the shooting enemies firing immediately, maybe you could provide an alternate shot that could destroy the incoming shots? You've got a ton of room to get a bit of extra polish in and have a really clean package. I like the aesthetic of the game as is, but adding some "juice" to the shots and whatnot could go really far.
One last thing I ran into: I'm not sure why I'd want to move around the circle? It seems like I could shoot wherever, it just changed the angle a bit? The movement controls felt a *little* unintuitive (I think that just comes with rotating around a circle though haha), which may have contributed to me just sitting in place and aiming entirely with the mouse. Maybe you could auto-fire or something, and have your angle locked based on where you are in the circle?
Once again, congrats on finishing and releasing a game!
The game felt a bit difficult and repeditive to me as well. Possibly having the movement aspect integrated into the gameplay might have already helped that aspect. It is usually useful to keep in mind that by the end you have potentially played your own game for 72h straight, so it might seem too easy, but will be considerably more difficult for others trying it out for a short time.
@e-rvin Yea I get what you mean. It was actually hard to me too believe it or not haha. I was having trouble balancing the game so difficulty is something I will be working on.
Pretty fun gameplay. I like that the enemies that shoot projectiles don't do as much damage so I can prioritize hitting the larger enemies first. The controls were a little disorienting at first, but it works when you get used to it after a while. The difficulty ramps up pretty fast. If you ever plan on updating this after the jam, it'd be nice to have difficulty options. Overall, the game is fun to play! I also like the aesthetics a lot.
@essarrgee Glad you liked it! Im noticing difficulty is a recurring theme here haha.
Nice game! The art is abstract but conveys what it needs to very well and looks good while doing it. One thing I didn't quite understand why I should move at all, since the ring is what seems to get damaged, not me. Gets very difficult very quickly, which I don't think is a bad thing. I would like to see what this becomes with a little more polish, like some screenshake here and there and more refined mechanics. Great job for a first game, especially on the graphics!
@thewustache Thanks! Im going to be updating the game soon so I will take your suggestions into account!
Nicely done! However, the bullets definitely need to be faster. They are so slow I can't ever shoot anything without it already hitting my energy field!
@peace-of-cake-games Yea Ive noticed the issue with the bullets haha. Ill be sure to fix that. Thanks for the feedback!
