I didn't really get what I had to do, some hints in the game would help. Still thank you for your work!
Puzzles were fun actually. Elevator music was groovy hehe. I've had fun :) Good job!
I liked your game my congratulations, I also did one if you want to know, and give me your feedback I am very grateful, this is the link https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/47/resurrection
Hi!
I liked the gameplay, and the controllers were pretty smooth and ergonomic! Especially liked how you could pick stuff up and interact.
An improvement would probably be to make the game a little easier, because it was quite difficult!
Otherwise, very fun game!
Cool FPS puzzle thing. I gave up at the second room for 2 reasons.
1. I play with inverted Y and I couldn't find the option to flip it. :( 2. Picking up objects was finicky, but also super important!
I used a countdown timer in my game too, I think it's a hard thing to try and manage player frustraition if the game just fails on them while they try to figure something out. I didn't really enjoy running back into the elevator and cycling through rooms to avoid failure.
Overall good job on the entry.
The E key wasn't working for me. I had to use the left mouse button which as a trackpad user was not that comfortable. Picking up things was really fiddly too, it kept picking up the drawers and not picking up the thing on top of it and made me miss the elevator which ends the game. But yeah the music was cool and a 3d game in a game jam is always ambitious.
See mom and dad?! This is why I'm going into the game industry! If I get an office job they'll make me collect fuses and click squares!
The "pick up" recognition didn't worked for me. Also, I've hard-locked myself on 2 stage =) It would be cool, if "retry" button restarted stage, not the entire game. It's a shame, because I think, that this game holds a lot of potential
Great work, Puzzles were well designed with matching difficulty. The win room was a nice addition (Also the boarded door is a lie)
I enjoyed it overall. Some little quirks almost made me quit the game too early: the nearly imperceptible visual feedback of something being interactable, the repeating layout of the rooms, the drawers being so difficult to pull out of the desks, which most of the time reward you with nothing. After getting the hang of all those, I was pleasantly surprised to see a small series of puzzles, with the third providing a bit of a twist on the previous two.
I appreciated the thought put into the placement of clues - the first ones are always quite conspicuous, and the ones after that tend to require use of the game's basic mechanics. I also noticed the background music originating from the elevator, which is a nice touch, but also a slightly missed opportunity to have the ambiance be a drab elevator tune, fitting an office building :) In general, the game's aesthetic is also pleasing: simple, time-efficient 3D done nicely.
Great job, and thank you for your game!
Had to restart a few times before I understood that I needed to use the elevator to cycle through the different rooms and solve the puzzle. It was nice game afterwards :)
This is great!!
Took me a while, but I got it! Great entry
It looks nice, but I had trouble interpreting the clues, and wasn't entirely sure how to control the drawers in the tables. I also had an instance of a drawer picked up immediately when I got off the elevator. If you can make the drawers easier to interact with, I'd love to give in another go, as there looked to be an item to interact with in one of them. Tex Murphy games are fun, and I feel you could get that vibe going here!
