I didn't get at first time that you can't shoot when your dog is following. Controls made it a bit difficult for the AZERTY user that I am, but in the end I had fun playing :) LOVE the old screen effect, bonus point on that !
Fun game. Though I found a choke point and was able to stay there as long as I wanted

Guess the tables have to go
slick concept and art-style I would have loved if you could use your dog to attack zombies
super cool graphics. loved the gameplay and the follow/stay mechanic
Really cool style and very nice gameplay. I was a bit confused with the follow/stay thing though
I always enjoy little games like these. To start, I loved the CRT display look and found it very fitting. I feel like although the art was relatively simple, this effect made it stand out more and feel like a classic RPG. The audio was very good, providing clear feedback for what the player was doing and what was happening on screen and the music also felt very fitting for this kind of game. The only way I can see this being improved short term is if there was some sort of walking animation. I see that you've only got very small sprites anyway so you could probably get away with 2 frames here but I feel like this tiny detail would add a lot. Overall, nice work! I hope to see more games like these.
Hey really nice job on this! I really love the cool CRT style of the display, imagine you used some fancy camera filter for that? I'm not quite sure how difficult the game is supposed to be, but I had fun shooting some ghouls and zombies.
Cool game but I think the game needs something like tutorial. It was very hard to understand in my first try.
Lovely game! I feel the dog could maybe fight back a little (could for example retaliate once every couple of seconds?), I doubt it'd make much of a difference to the mechanics! Also, poor thing got stuck in a door and wouldn't follow me in nor could I walk out past it to shoot the zombies coming at it from outside. Sad sad. Maybe the dog shouldn't block the player?
Great stuff all in all though!
I really like the CRT effect. It's a pretty fun game.
@sir-magic Thank you! Totally agree, it needs those tiny legs to move ahahaha
Like the visuals and defending the dog was fun for a while!
This was a fun and simple game. I really liked some of the mechanics, like your shared life and arrow limit and bringing the dog around was a great touch. I wasn't a big fan of the graphics personally but I recognize them as a choice you made, so judging by what you were going for they look good. I would have liked some simple animations.
very simple, but the fun is immediat, the graphs are cute and i love this screen render ! niice
This game has a level of polish that astonishing considering the time it was made in. It is very simple but also engaging.
SOlid game! Good gfx and music. One mistake and all went to hell :D Is there a reason why I can't shoot while moving with the cat? Is there places where player should travel, or just survive?
Hi @rojola not shooting while the dog is following is intentional but having places to go is actually a good idea
@minibobbo Thank you! Totally working on some simple animations for a next update!
Great graphics, fun game. I included it in my Ludum Dare 46 compilation video series, if you want to take a look. :) https://youtu.be/Kfcxq_4FEeU
Really awesome game overall. Graphics are on point, music was eerily fitting, the mechanics are well done and it adheres to the theme plenty.
A couple of things in my opinion, maybe make the player move a little slower so theres more of a tradeoff for when you wander far away from the dog. I found that for the first little while the best course of action wasn't actually to protect the dog, but instead to run around like a raging lunatic murdering everything in sight. Which was still fun but maybe not the intended gameplay loop.
Also, the dog just cannot figure out doorframes lmao.
OVERALL fantastic submission. Good luck bro!
I like the art, mood and the idea. Please make a full game from this
