I thought the plant will become a cactus with thorns, and will protect the shooter at the end ^^

This is quite a meditative game. I liked the colour palette and calm ambient music. Also upgrading system makes gameplay even more pleasant and enjoyable, it appears right in the proper time to add some necessary dynamics to the game. Monster designs are pretty sweet and it's very nice to get rewarded with blooming flowers on the thingy you protect, makes you feel like your actions matter. :3 However i think I had a bug, when my plan run out of HP but still stayed alive.

Once again we forgot (or it didnt work) to add the death mechanic, or maybe its part of the theme, keping the player alive aswell?

digitallimestone 2020-04-21 08:32

Ok, there's no death condition and the jump is too slow and floaty (turn up gravity in the project settings), but the graphics are good, the music is surprisingly unfrustrating for a 2 second soundbite, and the animations are really nice as well: It's great to see everyone jumping around.

Nice one!

There's some room for improvement. Damage upgrades seemed to be the only viable choice and perhaps some indicators of the enemies or the plant.

Played it through!

I like mouse + keyboard controls.

Just from the game, I didn't know what's my objective (what to keep alive). I even thought, that the enemies are somehow feeding that plant which they were gathering around. In the end I found out, that they are trying to destroy it and I helped it grow :D

Could be a bit atmospheric.

Also a little to easy.

ah, the big health bar on top was empty right form the start throughout the whole playthrough. I guess this was a bug?

Solid entry all in all!

some things are a bit confusing and we lack some options to spot or kill the ennemies, but it's still a pretty cool game ;)I like the upgrade system good job

I think the game would be improved by adding some juiciness on killing enemies (sounds, VFX). I didn't use the jump a single time in the game, I don't really see the value because just staying near the plant and waiting do the job. The overall ambience is very chill and wholesome, graphics and music are nice. It gave me a good mood :)

Good job!

Nice game. It really felt like you are responsible for the plant. Every time it died, a part of me was sad. For me, the ability to walk and jump seems not necessary. But it is nice that you can explore the world a bit. Maybe the movement of the arm could be faster or, as it was a bit annoying to switch the side where I wanted to shoot.

parahunter 2020-04-21 10:02

Took me a couple of tries to figure out I had to protect the plant in the center. I'd give it's health bar the same art work as the plant instead of a heart to make that clearer.

Also the jump was very floaty and it took too long to land again. Some juice on when enemies died would be good.

I like the leveling up between waves.

jorbits 2020-04-21 10:09

The game is playable and works good. It could use a bit more polishing though in my opinion. In my opinion you should try to juice up stuff with particles, sound effects, maybe a vignette effect when the players health is low, some text that says 'WAVE X IS NOW APPROACHING' with a roaring sound maybe .

Nice game. I like animations made from tweens, like your walking animation. Give me some indication which way the aliens are coming from!
