I'm pretty bad at this game, but i love it!
Not bad, not bad, i like it!
I like your illustrations. By the end the items only drop on the right side tho. Not enough challenge ;) Great work anyway!
Super cool work dude! I like your idea and i think the game is really well made. The only thing i would improve would be the graphics and UI. But for 3 days... this is really really great!
Nice game! Having the fire get too hot was a nice mechanic. One note was that the game didn't show everything until it was full screen. Not a huge deal, but I tend to not play web games full screen most of the time. Overall, well done!
Really liked the artwork in this one! I think the window size is too small on itch.io. The edges of the game are cut off.
The idea that you have to balance wood and apples is very interesting! I could keep playing this for quite a while.
It just took me a while to understand all the mechanics. Most of it was because sometimes the changes to the resource bars were so small that I could not understand which ones increased. Maybe a more explicit feedback, like particles coming out of the affected bars or the item sprites fyling towards them would inform the player better. I thought for the first two playthorghs that I had to "drop" apples far from the fire to eat them, otherwise I would be throwing them on the fire.
This was a pretty solid game. It was nice that there were a lot of interactions between the levels of food and fire with your health bar, but I wish that there were some unique interactions with the gameplay itself. The fact that the game had a working title screen and even a volume slider was unexpectedly nice, and you even added parallax to the background even though it was slightly strange, so I wish you had more mechanics to make me want to play the game itself a bit more. Overall you guys did a pretty good job!
I really like the art and the general vibe of this game. It was definitely enjoyable to see the fire grow. But I do have to admit, I found it a bit confusing. I was able to last two minutes and the fire grew very big and then I suddenly got "Game Over". Did I lose or win?
That was pretty smooth. I played for a few minutes, but it felt too easy. I think that the apples spawn too frequently, so you never actually get close to death. Someone mentioned that they died when the fire got too big? That happened to me and I didn't die. Maybe some more instructions about how that mechanic works would be helpful.
The art style was great, and it fit the music nicely. Great job!
Good simple but complete game. I enjoyed the music and the balancing act! My only negative feedback is that it felt a bit repetitive after a while as nothing new or novel happened. Perhaps powerups or different items or events could help with this. Overall, good job! I enjoyed playing
I really like the graphic design of your game with the sketch theme. The dev looks good with no crashes, smooth movement and good random patterns. I think your project is a good dev and a good graph work, but it lacks a game designer and a sound designer.
The gamedesign is pretty straight forward and works well at the beginning but it begins to falter after a few minutes of play : I survived 8 minutes and then I quit as nothing new in the gameplay or the difficulty kept me entertained and pushed me to stay longer. I would say the mood could be improved too : The charac design is joyful, the background design is a bit scary and the music is 'chill relaxed campfire mood' but not rythmic enough to accompany the frantic movement of your character to survive.
Overall I enjoyed your game as a solid dev and graph project that I wished I'd have done during *my* first year
Love the artwork and music! It was very entertaining. I would recommend to add an audible feedback if something was caught or dropped on the fire, because sometimes I wasn't sure if something happened. But overall great game!
I liked balancing between too much fire and fire going out, but wish there was more challenge, maybe spawn more bats. Art was nice to look at but there was a lack of sound effects which I feel would improve the game feel a lot.
I love it! Makes me wanna be Argentinean NDEaaaaaaaah
Thank you all for the encouraging messages.
@nicksmaddog I don't play full screen web games either, but I had issues with Unity trying to scale the canvas. Thanks for the observation.
@kazuo256 I'll keep that in mind. For the next one I will try that the objects are not destroyed and go to the corresponding bar. Thank you!
@primalshadow In that case you lost. I regret not being able to explain well that if the fire was very large you burned yourself, it only shows a fire in the life bar. I will try to make it more explicit. Good point, thanks!
@gnocchi I think I needed to add random events to make it more entertaining. Thank you!
nice background art, perhaps the fire should only hurt the player when they get close to it and not when there at the edges of the screen but otherwise a nice game :)
A really visually pleasing game! Nice little catching game. Im not really sure what the bats do though. Some indicator would be nice! The UI looked kinda weird and the scaling was off. The game hit the theme well and was enjoyable. Good submission!
cool little catching game with a twist! Would be even cooler if the gameplay varied after you get the jist of it, but for what it is still a cool entry! Keep it up!
Great job, I really like the artistic style, especially the fire. The addition of some sound effects would really put the polish on this. I hope you keep working on it.
I didn't think a campfire would be this stressful. Well done and great graphics.
I liked the art stile of the background, the character animation could be better, and I was missing some more impact when I collect the items like a sound or a gentle screen shake, and a more solid shake when I hit a bat. Also for this king of game I would not use perspective camera, even thou it's nice when the background moves a bit and adds a little depth in this case it's not necessary as you have limited space to move around and feels strange.
