I hope you like itScreenshot (19).png

jasonsumm1 2020-04-21 10:48

yeah really great! excellent style too :D

lloydcorfex 2020-04-21 11:19

Nice story, I add that to mood ;-) Glad to see there's a decent menu. The difficulty seems a bit hard.

dvd 2020-04-21 11:36

Sorry if the game is too hard. As you can see in my video it's not impossible, but even I, who made the game dies many times. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=66ZIVLcmurY

kregames 2020-04-21 11:39

Pretty cool game! I like what people do with these shaders. Can I ask how did you do the trace of the bullet? Great work, cool concept!

dvd 2020-04-21 12:07

@kregames I used trail renderer for the bullets, thats a feature built into unity.

nova31 2020-04-21 12:24

Didn't understand the 10 first minutes but then it was a super game it would be awesome in VR. The menu is great the graphics are great the levels are very good the models are good too but the music was too loud and for the gameplay the mouse sensibility is not really good and Techno Oink is really handicapping in difficult levels like the one with 4 rocket launchers. Overall you 2 did a great job.

dvd 2020-04-21 12:57

Thanks for your feedback, also the game might be a bit complex, the how to play tab should help you. Also you can adjust both volume and mouse sensibility in the settings(the default values might not be the best). Also the fact that Techno Oink is handicapping you is part of the game, as he is supposed to be a stupid and useless robot, but I understand that he can be kind of frustrating at times.

nate-wert 2020-04-21 13:24

Very fun concept the graphics give me that nostalgic Superhot feel. Saving the pig is fun and difficult, but rewarding at the same time. (Especially when he tries to run directly into the fire smh)

dvd 2020-04-21 14:39

@nate-wert Yes, it has some similarities with Superhot, maybe some slow motion would have been cool for this game as well.

2020-04-21 19:23

Sorry, but this game is unplayable in current state. Shooting is too hard, mouse sensitivity is awful, throwing objects to enemies is uncontrollable.

dvd 2020-04-21 19:35

I am sorry to hear this, did you try to edit the settings, sensitivity can be adjusted in the settings, you should also consider turning down the quality, both bloom and ambient occlusion are task intensive, what might cause lag on weaker machines, what might cause lag. Also the throwing of objects is not impossible, it requires some skill. It is very unfortunate that your comment is anonymous as I can't contact you directly.

2020-04-21 20:04

this game is awesome! But Techno Oink is anoying:(........:)

big-evil-corporation 2020-04-21 22:20

A lot of work went into this, and it shows! Very good concept, looks amazing, and very technically impressive. The gunplay lets it down though, it's way too sluggish and annoying to shoot at things, and I didn't have the patience to slog through every level. I loved the grapple mechanic, and how the audio pitch is tied to player movement, too. You're on to something here.

dvd 2020-04-21 22:30

@big-evil-corporation you need to turn down the sensitivity and the gun shooting works just fine :)

rohezal 2020-04-21 22:31

The low sensitvity version is 500MB, the high sensivity version is 28MB. Maybe this is a debug build?

Anyway nice shooter. I love how the enemies fly, fall down and get up again, the flying aspect adds a bit diversity to classic FPS. I got sometimes the message "techno-oink got scared to death". The first question is: it is a roboter how can it be scared to death? Does the game mechanic means I went to far away from it?

dvd 2020-04-21 22:35

@rohezal yes, thats what it means, sorry its not that clear. Thanks for telling me about the wrong upload :) should be fixed.

bobost2 2020-04-21 22:44

Ì really like the game, but the pig AI makes me angry a little :D

dvd 2020-04-21 22:50

@bobost2 Thanks for the feedback

ion-programming 2020-04-22 04:35

Techno Oink made me angry, but I loved it!

dvd 2020-04-22 07:31

@ion-programming thanks for your feedback, its good to hear people saying they like it :) Also checked out your game, I like it, very fun.

curtis-pelissier 2020-04-22 09:51

Your game has a great idea, but I can't pass the first level because of lack of feedback.

I play very carefully because when I kill or shot an enemy, there is no feedback (even just the destruction of the enemy itself). I was progressing, I suppose I killed every enemies (there were all down on the ground, not targeting) and my techno-oink has been killed without reason.

A shot sound would be great to add a nice FPS gamefeel. Talking about music, why is it spatialized  ?

Afterwards, it's a nice concept. You must work a bit more on gamefeel features.

dvd 2020-04-22 10:19

@curtis-pelissier thanks for the feedback

If all the enemies are killed, the safe area will unlock, its a red flat area at the end of the level, it will turn blue. You need to take him to that area(if he is in before it turns blue, it wont work), sometimes the robots are hidding behind some walls. You mentioned that the robot pig died without a reason, you will always get a message to what he died, the message Techno-Oink got scared to death means, that you were to far from the pig.

The how to play section of the game also answers these questions.

In a future update, we will defiantly work on better user feedback and a tutorial level of some sort.

dvd 2020-04-22 10:38

@big-evil-corporation Please let me know if the low default sensitivity version works, fine and better than old version. As you complained about bad camera movement(due too high sensitivity, I think), it runs just fine and super smooth on my pc also the old version did, I need to know if this issues still exists for you

big-evil-corporation 2020-04-22 11:20

@dvd Hi! It wasn't the sensitivity that was the issue, the problem is the bullets move so slowly, which seems to be a design choice rather than a technical glitch. Makes it really awkward to play. If you were going for the Superhot approach, it needs the time stop mechanic to work properly! Good game otherwise, though!

lethalturtle 2020-04-22 17:04

(sorry if my criticism is harsh) The first 2 levels were well designed, however the same cannot be said to the rest of the levels. There are many things I would like to say so I'll just make it a list 1. The BULLETS > They feel awkward and the slow, and there was a bug where the bullets could pass through objects (I encountered it multiple times in the 3rd level when the pig was behind the truck, the enemies would just keep shooting him and he would die even though he was behind the truck). 2. The WEAPON > It is slow, it is single fire when most enemies are auto fire, the bullets are weird. 3. The TURRET > It NEVER stops shooting no matter how many times I shot it, like it would've been a lot better if it stopped for a bit after being shot until it recovers.

I enjoyed the first 2 levels, they were REALLY fun, however I got really frustrated at the bullet bug in the 3rd stage and the ridiculous amount of enemies in the 4th stage when I can hardly kill them with one shot and I can only shoot ONE bullet at a time.

OK, that was a LOT of talk about things I DIDN'T LIKE now let me talk about the things I LIKED 1. The PIG (TECHNO-OINK) > He is your average everyday Escort Mission NPC but I loved dragging him around instead of waiting for him to walk slowly, just makes escorting more fun and engaging. 2. The VISUALS > I liked the simple colors of SUPER HOT so it was nice seeing it again in this game, also the Robots looked cool and interesting. 3. The AUDIO The music was nice however the lack of sounds effects when I shoot and hit an enemy made the game feel awkward.

Overall an interesting game that could use LOTS of improvement, it has potential.

moddingmachine 2020-04-22 17:24

The gunplay could have been a little better, It was kind of annoying wanting for the bullet to slowly glide across the screen, but the controls and everything else was amazing (except for some of the offset colliders that would block your shots) Overall a pretty good game, the best 3D game I've played so-far!

dvd 2020-04-22 18:20

@lethalturtle thanks for your long and detailed comment, its good, to know what people like and what not. You dont have to feel sorry for the critic is harsh, I can see you really put time into and objective comment. I have to agree with you that the game is hard and the gun isn't that powerful. I just did lots of play testing and got really good at the game and now its too hard. The issues with bullets going through walls is due to them having too small colliders. I will work on a post version for this game.

dvd 2020-04-22 18:26

@moddingmachine thanks for your comment, I have noticed that many people say the bullets are too slow, can you please compare you bullet speed with the bullet speed in the video, I want to know if this is a bug or a design problem, that would be great. Also, yes some of the colliders are offset, they are mostly to prevent players from getting over them, I should have different colliders for bullets and players.

zesix 2020-04-22 23:15

I love this art style! As others mentioned, the run and gun gameplay felt different from what I'm used to in similar games, but a great entry nonetheless!

dvd 2020-04-23 12:33

@zesix thanks for your feedback, its great to hear you like the art style as lots of work went into this. Also what made the gameplay feel different from what you are used to. And what can be improved for a updated version.

dvd 2020-04-23 12:53

@lethalturtle Hi! I fixed some of the issues you pointed out and made the levels easier I uploaded it as a updated version. Are you still having problems with bullets going through walls. I also doubled the fire rate.

catomag 2020-04-24 14:33

Probably the best game I've played so far, the beautiful score and aesthetic really drew me deep into the distopian world of "techno oink". Not only was the setting and ambiance thrilling and engaging, but the characters were so lively it was like they were reaching out to me from the screen. I give this game my highest recommendation and my first and only 10/10. Also, I didn't realize you could grab techno oink so I spent like 20 mins trying to figure out how to get it over the wall in level 2...

dvd 2020-04-24 21:31

@catomag Thanks for your great feedback, I am happy to hear you liked it. It must have been very frustrating to move techno oink without knowing that you can grab him, as he has a mind own and is not really the fastest creature

merpui 2020-04-26 17:54

Nice game! The setting really fits the mood. And I like that you can drag the pig to the goal so you don't have to wait for him to reach the goal by himself :P

ugurcan 2020-04-26 21:35

Art style is pretty good. Reminded me of superhot for some reason

raivk 2020-04-30 13:01

Cool art style :) I like it ! The game was cool, but maybe make the bullets go faster ? It's quite frustrating, but anyway, was still fun. Throwing techno-oink everywhere was so cool haha !
