What a cool little Game! It is really funny to see this guy crushing cars and the highscore hunt is addictive. I noticed that the movement speed of the player is sometimes to slow to help all pedestrians but i understand that this is really hard to balance and maybe i am just too bad^^

the pedestrian deaths are pretty morbid lol good game

tinykidtoo 2020-04-21 04:12

I like it, a twist on frogger, also I just love punching the cars out of the way.

Game looks really fun XD. The deaths were not held back a bit. Definitely put a smile on my face. Need some info on controls as it was kinda confusing to understand at first.

Really solid entry. I think this would be great as a mobile game. It is designed really well - there is only a single mechanic and works well on a vertically oriented screen. There are some things that can be improved though - the UI is really unpolished. For example, in the help menu the text at the bottom of the screen "Keep those streets safe Malcolm" is needlessly stretched vertically, which looks even worse because the pixel font. My opinion is on the conservative end of the spectrum regarding whether how strict you should be with pixel art, but ensuring that all graphics are at the same pixels per unit and aren't stretched goes a long way when giving a polished look. Please polish this game past Ludum Dare! It has a lot of potential. Regards, -Elnu

Thank you @mertios We will definitely fix that stretched text and we do plan on polishing the game and even adding new features after the game jam. This is our first game so we definitely want to give it our love #OurBaby

I like this game a looooot. I would like to see it converted to mobile. It kept me playing for quite a while :) Only the Malcolm hitbox is too big - I get hit by a car in spite of standing quite far from it.

Good time killer, perfect for the mobile gaming market.

Collision detection felt a little off, the hit box size might have been broadly applied to even the empty space. I could see at times that I was clearly out of the way (pixel wise) but still took a hit. This made it harder to play as I had to be really out the way and that sometimes meant I was too far out to hit the car out of the way.

The basic concept is fun and interesting, definitely needs more polish to get it more playable. I did have at one point about 3 or 4 old ladies trying to cross the road completely blocking the whole thing XD There was no way I was going to survive that!

Did take some time getting used to the mechanics, but after I got it it was a lot of fun. Pushing around cars feels sooooo good :red_car:

Good little game. Punching left and right seemed a bit odd, maybe punching forward may be better, but I can't be certain. Otherwise, neat game to pass time.

marvin-chong 2020-04-24 06:23

I definitely have to agree with some of the comments here, the hitbox collisions felt a bit off.

Other than that, I really enjoyed this entry. It was humourous, enjoyable and addictive. I kind of hoped there would be an interactive tutorial at the start, but since this is a jam, you can ignore this one. The game took a a few tries for me to get used to, like knowing how to punch the cars correctly and knowing how to navigate around, but after I did, it was an awesome experience.

The visuals were also amazing, and I especially love the blood splatter, it really enhances the feel of the game.

The sound design could be worked on to give impact to the gameplay, but I think it is still okay.

Overall a good entry, keep it up!

This is a fun little title. The web version didn't work for me in any browser I tried it in, but the download worked fine. The hits could feel a little more impactful, adding some juice (screenshake, hit effects, etc.) would really make the core mechanic sing. Good job!

Pushing the cars from the middle not removing the car from the road makes the game really difficult since we can't push them again because of our speed. I also think our hitbox is a bit too big.

The game is pretty fun and the graphics are cute, well done!

lazzydev72 2020-05-01 10:24

WellDone. Keep it UP

A cool game that should be ported to mobile!
