I do like the challenge, but it does become unfair when the tail gets longer. Maybe have a bigger play space.

An interesting concept, but I don't quite get the mechanics. What kills me and what doesn't, why the snake is so unexpectedly stiff, what the colorful letters do as opposed to the hashes... So many questions, so little time! I DID play it multiple times though, which is a good sign!

This game reinvents the snake game for me. It reminded me a little of Flow. I love the ASCII graphics and the sound really made the game fun and humorous. Great job!

Very nice interpretation of the theme! I was a little sad the times I died after with a long tail because I didn't know how the new enemies worked :( but nothing that can't be overcome with few more games :smirk:

Cool concept! I like the symbols graphics. The movement of the tail is too erratic when based on the movement of the mouse and kept in a straight line, I would have made it follow the recorded movement of the mouse in the previous seconds.

This is hard! I really like the style of the game and the satisfying "crunch" when you eat the enemies. Those red asterisk guys are hard as nails though. My best score was 23. I think I'll settle for that. Good work!

Nice game, I like this more active version of Slither.io, their is a real challenge here. It becomes a bit unfair the bigger you grow because it's hard to tell what killed you sometimes, but it was fun to play. Good job !

Loved the sound effects, the ASCII look was awesome, super hard! My entry also has a mechanic with a lengthening tail the player needs to manage, really cool to see a different take on it!

I think this is a cool concept, simple but fun. I was really annoyed by the behavior of the tail though, the fact that it stays in a straight line instead of being a proper trail made it really difficult to avoid getting hit, because it would snap around and run into things.

I've always liked snake games and this was no exception. I was only ever to stay alive for a few seconds which kept me trying for more lives than I care to admit. Perfect level of difficulty. The 'crunch' sound was very satisfying. I also liked the web build. I feel like some art would have been nice in place of the ascii characters, although that may have been chosen due to the theme.

But it's a bit difficult...(Couldn't get more than 15 :<)

The violet things were too fast and the game lags sometimes.

Also: please change source code to HTML-5 and customise your LD-page with images.

Yeah! This is what snakey should have been! It's very hard though, with the tail flapping about like crazy until it takes up half the screen. Especially the enemies with the * shield seem pretty impossible. What about having the tail follow the position of the head more?
