I love puzzles! One thing I wish it had worked was automatic level progression. It just doesn't know when I solved the current puzzle. Reset button and submit button is I suppose the same? And no audio :( I really like the idea, there is a nice mechanic being built here. What I'm missing is more visual and audio feedback, and more interesting mechanics build on top of this. Kind of like Sudoku puzzles etc adding more interesting solutions so that it feels fresh. Props :)

Thanks! Unfortunately the audio doesn't play intermittently, it is there... seems some Chrome HTML5 issue. Didn't get enough time to look into it. Yeah I had several ideas for more complicated puzzles, but this is what we got and I'm happy there.

Not bad. There's definitely some room for improvement, for example it'd be nice if the current player location was a little more obvious.

That was fun! I sometimes got confused as a successfully completed 2-step square and an incorrectly 2-stepped square were indistinguishable, but otherwise had no problems. Audio was nice and chill.

The itch.io link seems to be broken.

Very nice implementation of this kind of puzzles. I agree that the player position could be a little different from one of the tiles. I really liked the music!

flyingkiwi 2019-10-08 17:24

Fixed the itchio link! Thanks for that.

Pretty darn interesting ! Could see this becoming more with some polish, cheers!

Hello friend,

First of all, the game is neat. It's fairly simple, but I could see it becoming more fleshed out with a couple more mechanics.

Secondly, I notice that you have included the fine [Kevin MacLeod's *Deliberate Thought*](https://incompetech.filmmusic.io/song/3635-deliberate-thought/) as your soundtrack.

Keep in mind that you have to credit open source music you use, and opt out of the Audio category, as per [jam rules](www.ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/rules).

Because a large portion of Jam games produce their own music, it's important to be transparent about what outside assets you're using to maintain the integrity of the jam. I'll give you the benefit of the doubt that this was an honest mistake, but my rating for Audio is one star.

Good luck for the rest of rating season!

Loved the music on this entry! Really fits in well with the puzzles. Also I love this puzzle game, it's very soothing and yet quite challenging on some of the advanced levels. I really wish I didn't have to validate with SPACE whenever I complete something, I think at one point it just reset when I thought for sure I had completed it (must have made a mistake..)

Anyways really solid entry, great job!

I agree with @anonymoose, you really should have opted out of Audio. At the very least you should make a post-jam version with the Audio stripped out ASAP and make a note on your page

I rated you with the above rule violation in mind but if you make a note on the page and remove the music I'll update my rating.

As for the game itself I think that it was pretty solid but I would have liked if you made the player a different color and prevented movement outside of the level's shape. Also you could add some screen shake and SFX when the player fails a level.

Hi @anonymoose, thank you very much for the heads up - we were unaware of this! I've updated the post with the correct attribution and removed the audio rating category. We didn't mean to mislead anyone so I appreciate you explaining the process. Cheers! And thanks @burneraccount for the reiteration, and the constructive feedback

Yay, i made it!

Very relaxing and fun puzzle. And it dont even is my favorite genre. The mechanics are pretty solid, the graphics are nice and the audio choice was on point. Maybe think of having a composer on your team next time?

Congrats on an excellent job!

Cool game! It was relaxing and a good experience! it was easy and a really great idea of a puzzle game, i am terrible at this kind of games, but yours got me well! Awesome job on this

paulo-brunassi 2019-10-25 15:54

This is a preety awesome game and concept. The only thing that I think it could be improved is the camera, I find a little confusing, if it stayed static would be better. Anyway great job!

@inkyglow Thanks so much for responding. I updated my rating, good luck in the jam :)

niterich 2019-10-25 20:13

I think there's a great start to a puzzle game here, but I think it should have been harder to break the rules, or at least easier to tell when you did. Things like being unable to move onto an empty space, making an improperly walked on tile red, some harsh audio cues, automatically restarting if there are no valid moves, things like that.

suchista 2019-10-26 18:47

It's a nice idea. I would really like some small levels, because the bigger ones sometimes seem to be difficult from the size than an actual puzzle. Also maybe going on the wrong tiles should be impossible?
