I really like your game. The pig-guy could definitely have a healthbar though. Nice work on the music too! Great entry.

Great music selection. Maybe it's just me, but the tutorial would be much appreciated!

nice game, i love it1

Bobbo is a pretty cool gobbo. But I ran into a bug that didn't allow me to throw the objects even though a lot of them were orbiting around me and making me slower. I don't know what could've caused that. But still nice game.

Very interesting game, good idea. But too monotonous, I would like more levels or enemies. Good job :)

Maybe the best named game I've ever seen. Picking up a bunch of stuff and shotgunning it is really satisfying. The audio is fantastic but the game drags on a little. The animation and graphics are really good though. I'd love to see a longer game using these mechanics.

I really like the main mechanic of this game however I wish there was a more clear indication for when the orc was being hit by the object. Also quick question, is Bobbo the Gobbo related to Boblin the Goblin by any chance?

ambadev 2019-10-10 19:25

@smileyface They're definitely possibly maybe distant cousins

I liked the mechanics of throwing everyting you find around you on the ogre-bully. I also liked the telekinetic effect where things orbit around you. This is far from a complete game but it was a pure and simple fun run around and throw things :) Graphics were also a bit chipped made with love!

Neat game idea! The mood was really quirky and built upon very well with the music and the colourful visuals. In terms of gameplay I feel that there was very little indication for a lot of systems in the game. When I shot the objects at the orc it was hard to tell if I had actually hit it, consider adding more visual feedback such as screenshake or making the orc flash red when being hit so that it is more obvious. There is also no indicator of progression in the game, so I had no idea if what I was doing was effective at completing the objective (killing the orc) or not. This can be fixed by adding some kind of health bar to the orc, or some other indicator as to their health, so that the player sees how well they are doing and if they need to change their strategy to kill the orc more efficiently. Art was decent however there was a lot of inconsistency; many sprites were of completely different resolutions to each other, like how the orc was high res and had smaller pixels while the tree and boulder sprites had larger ones. Make sure that it is kept consistent throughout the entirety of the game, for this inconsistency really hinders how the game looks aesthetically. Overall a really interesting game idea with some enjoyable gameplay, next time I would spend more time adding more visual and audible indicators (particle effects, as well) to the game and also polishing the artwork. Good work!

The title screen made me laugh out loud, and the gobbo was the best piece of artwork in the world. It may have taken me over 4 minutes to kill the bad orc, but he has been vanquished by sheer quantity of fish hurled at his face. Well done.

I thought this was a very interesting entry! The music was very charming, and the whole premise was very humorous. I like the concept, but I think it could be implemented a little more effectively to make it easier to understand and control. Overall, I enjoyed it, though. Well Done!

Nice music that puts us right into it. Your character's walking animation was actually pretty funny too ! Nice work for a first entry :)

I sometimes moved very fast or slow, and at the end I had many objects turning around me when I wasn't able to throw anything due to a bug I think, so there was no way for me to die. But I see what was intended. The music was good, too.

Interesting game! I think I agree with others that there should be more feedback on how effective your hits were. Also, I saw the time on the title screen and thought the goal was to survive as long as possible.

Not sure how this fit the theme, but I still enjoyed playing it

Loved it! Such a fun concept, things that I've never seen meshed before (a telekinetic goblin fighting an evil pig-man, never thought I'd see that) come together in a way that brings a smile to my face. The graphics are nicely made and charming, and the music choice is perfect, really compliments the mood. Great entry!

Funny figure and actions hhhh

You dare question my goblin power?! Is something I would scream out loud every time I saw the orc as I walked slowly throughout the map with an entire galaxy spinning around me. Great idea, and great execution. I had a lot of fun with the game, even though there were a few buggy moments. If you decide to expand the game, definitely spread the trees out a little more so that the orc doesn't get stuck in between them so much. Also as other people have said, a health bar would be nice to have. (I also really liked the music so if you were able to loop it in a future version that would be great!)

Good job! The game is really fun!
