I had a lot of trouble getting the HTML 5 version on itch.io to run. Game area was larger than the screen, with no obvious effect controls or effect, and no fullscreen button.
Foon → Ludum Dare Explorer → LD45 → Emergency Procedures

Fixed the html issues, thanks! Didnt realise it was a problem on lower resolutions
I think you should really improve the game description, I had a pretty hard time understanding what to do...
Maybe add some pictures?
This is a good effort for your first time, and you've got some interesting ideas at work, too.
I really like the way you've captured the physics of moving in zero-gravity. You're completely at the mercy of momentum until you reach a wall, so you have to plan your route carefully.
It seems like you already know this, but it's pretty clear there were some time-management problems.
You probably could have gotten away with putting much less effort into the art. There's a lot of fine detail in the visuals but I imagine most players will be focused on trying to win rather than appreciating the art.
Spending less time on the art doesn't just give you more time to spend on other things: it also forces you to be judicious about what elements need the most artistic detail. Making the most important parts of the level the most detailed helps draw the players attention to them, too.
The tension between trying to charge the battery and maintain shield and life-support power is an neat idea. With a little more polish and some sound to add to the atmosphere, you could have a pretty fun game on your hands.
But most of all, you made it, you finished it, and you put it out there for people to play, and that's what counts.
Hey! I liked your sci-fi shields critical, life supports low messages, that whole vibe. I also kept getting stuck against walls though, are they supposed to be sticky? Never got through it bc of that, but I enjoyed playing as your little alien guy! ALSO CONGRATS making your first game! I went back and read this is your first one and wow, kudos to you literally jumping in both feet and doing ludum dare! My first game took longer to make and was absolutely not like this, you did good!
"I told you", I love your humor xD
Congrats for you firsts pixels on the screen! This is a very good start, welcome to the computer graphics / video game world ;D
A very nice go for your first attempt. I liked the idea behind it all, and the inability to change direction when not up against a wall made it interesting. I could definitely see this going places with some more work.
However, I was unable to finish a single battery before the asteroids hit and I got killed. So there is some balancing needed. Sometimes I also got stuck to a wall and it would not allow me to jump away from it.
The UI and the art was very nice though. Again - very good work for your first go.
Very nice graphics but I couldn’t figure out how to make the airlock work…
@fractal sorry, there were supposed to be audio clues :(
It takes 5 seconds to depressurize, then some time to "fill" the battery
The idea and graphics were good, but a bug which where you hit a corner makes you unable to move made it very difficult to play.

The special effects were very cool when you were hit by an asteroid.
Nice idea, but not sure the lack of gravity having you go all the way over the screen did the gameplay a favor. Maybe work on the controls a bit, then it could be quite fun. Give the little fellow a jetpack to brake with or something. 😁
Congratulations on your first game! As a first-time game, I like it a lot, but there are some parts that needs some work. What I wished:
- the quote at the beginning should be skipable. I retried the game a few times and having to wait everytime for that quote (even if it's short) is quite bugging - I hard a hard time reading the "Use spacebar to interact" text, as it's only shown when you can interact with something. Maybe it should be there the whole time and highlight interactible items. - Sometimes it seems I got stuck. Or it was because I reached the Game Over state; that one could be more clear - I thought I would be stuck in the manual, until I figured out how to close it again - More explanations. I couldn't figure how out how to use the life and shield generator
But overall it's a great start.
