Yeo! WASD + mouse look to move. F to interact/pick up blood. Use B to replenish your blood if you've got extra blood bags. Enjoy!

Got a bug on my furthest run, my camera was turned about 80 degrees from the front of the controller so I got a good view of the arm attached to nothing. Also, from the picture I was expecting something kinda different, not sure. But honestly, it just felt repetitive, the sound design was pretty good though.

Yeo!

Hey, great game. I ran into a bug though, in that whenever I put my hand in one of the blood remover things my screen would be desynced with the actual movement if I moved my mouse. If I pressed w, I would move left, d for forward, etc. Good atmosphere, very creepy.

mitch-cutler 2018-12-04 04:13

ah damn, I just got that bug too. I guess I didn't ever hit any other buttons while interacting with the blood locks. Can you do patches on jams, or does it have to be stuck like that? haha

luther-1 2018-12-04 04:32

The first thing I noticed when I started up the game was the lack of options. I moved my mouse half an inch and I turned around fully which is far too high for my liking. I personally don't like that the game didn't include up and down camera movements, but I can live with it. Movement felt for the most part good, occasionally I would start floating (notably in the spike floor room and down the descending hallway). Despite this, I couldn't help but play the game a second and even third time trying to reach farther into the level. I enjoy this take on the theme a lot and the atmosphere of the game is very defined with the ambient sounds, great work on that part! Every time I opened a door I was excited to see what I would find inside, the game did a great job of making exploration feel valuable. A feature I would like to see implemented is an indicator to show how much blood will be taken when opening a door, sometimes it's hard to tell if you can make it or not. Finally, The randomization of the floor tiles in the spike floor room needs to go. After playing the level for 5 minutes the last thing I want to see is an impassible floor because of RNG. Amazing work on the game overall!

Hey Luther-1, thank you so much for the feedback, I really appreciate it. I am definitely considering continuing development on it and will certainly take your notes to the table. Take care!

Awesome, great work! :top:

Thanks! @johnnyginard

Nice game, it will be great to have a sprint which can decrease depending of your percentage of blood to allow a better backtracking. Maybe the depth of field is a bit to strong? The graphics works pretty well and I feel the quantity of work behind this (in programmation and graphics direction). Nice job!

Good game, well done on it! Some suggestions: Maybe have the hand get slightly bloodier as you get lower health as it would help to add to the immersion of the game. Sacrificing blood and then seeing your hand the exact same kind of kills immersion. In some of the rooms I also kept seeing these weird black cubes popping through the walls, not sure if its an error with the particle system or not. Luckily it was only a small bug. Also maybe add a mouse sensitivity slider. I found the sensitivity was too high and would've liked to adjust it. I do think that the camera only moving side to side and not up and down is a bit weird, I think allowing you to move the camera along both axises (or however you spell it) would help the game. Finally the movement did feel quite "floaty" in areas. Try and improve it and make it more responsive. Solid entry though. The first time I saw my hand getting placed into the grinder thingy took me quite by surprise. I was quite a fan of the gore and sounds. Also maybe make it more obvious if a door will take so much blood it will kill you, one time I though I had enough blood to make it but unfortunately died. Maybe some kind of number value next to your blood or make the door glow red if it is going to kill you.

I had a funny bug:

But other than that, it was an interesting experience. The very dark atmosphere is well reinforced by the nice graphics and sound design. I might have liked less reactive controls. Anyway, it's pretty cool.

Life lesson learnt - Don't put your arm into mysterious objects..

sadsmile 2018-12-04 21:54

So edgy, the character almost slit his wrist...oh wait...

Neat game, great atmosphere but it had a lot of bugs :P

mitch-cutler 2018-12-04 22:12

@kroute Thanks for the input. Were you playing the ver 2 build? I thought I fixed that bug, but perhaps I did not!

kroute 2018-12-04 22:22

@mitch-cutler yep that's the version I was playing.

mitch-cutler 2018-12-04 22:25

@kroute Ok, cool. Thank you. Was it on a door that hadn't been opened yet or from a blood collector that had already been used? I'll look into it again tonight. Thanks again.

kroute 2018-12-04 22:37

@mitch-cutler I think (but I'm not 100% sure because I have played a lot of games since my first comment) that it was on a door that hadn't been opened. Glad I could help :-)

bendev-games 2018-12-04 23:54

Really liked the atmosphere of your game, felt like i was playing a horror game right from the start. The graphics and the style fits well with everything. The sensivity, for me, was really high it was difficult to control my character. There was also a bug that some black boxes (?) were blinking behind me. I ended up dying while opening doors for my first two runs, maybe make a little easier at the beginning hehe.

Cheers

steel-dev 2018-12-05 00:40

The controls were a little confusing at first. But I really liked this game! the idea of sacrificing blood to open doors is really cool. Well done! the graphics are well done. Nice job!

nul 2018-12-05 06:10

The theme and the atmosphere is amazing, paired with the sounds and music as well. Could've easily been 5 star graphics if the hand models were original work, as well as those flickering black cubes not being there. But I definitely do not find the game fun. The controls are pretty bad. No pitch control, very high yaw sensitivity. And with only two buttons that aren't WASD, didn't feel necessary that one of them had to be B. I died simply due to... If the game is RNG based on it's layout, then I died to that. If it's static, then I lost simply because I didn't have any way of knowing which door to choose.

But this atmosphere is great. You should either improve on this project, or bring that same style into a new one for sure.

kemal-caglar-guler 2018-12-05 19:50

Firstly, game really fits to the theme, you have to sacrifice your blood to open doors and move along. Graphics and level design is really good, together with audio, they are really creepy, I was waiting a monter to pop up . However, I've got to say that mouse sensitivity is too much for me, I had a struggle with controlling it . But overall, this is really good. Keep up the good work!

mirsakka 2018-12-09 00:28

I tried to play but now I'm confused if there's a bug in controls or am I doing something wrong... Should I be able to turn the camera with mouse? When I start the game, camera is fixed in one starting direction and whatever I do with the mouse (clicking/moving) it doesn't change. Even that I didn't play properly (yet) because of that camera thing, I must say the atmosphere seemed very suspenseful and scary!
