Really makes you consider what powerups you can do without. I'm not able to move forward while falling, possibly a small bug. Overall, Good job!

i like the concept, but the game is maybe a little bit hard for me. Anyway it's funny.

Nice Game! I liked how you used the theme to make the game more difficult and interesting! nice work!

Cool graphics and soundtrack and solid platform mechanics. I had a similar theme in mine, giving up capabilities, for the sacrifice part. I enjoyed it but found it a little hard to see what the hell I was doing, especially when I chose the view sacrifice (never tried that again after the first time).

Very nice game !, the artstyle is lovely and the music very cool, i also like the fact the you can "choose your gameplay".

BUT

I think the platform are wayyyyy to slow once you'r on.

The "invert control midair" mechanic is too frustrating and difficult imo, at least comparing to the others "sacrifices"

Good job, it is very fun to play and well done !

Great use of the theme ! As @tadpolily said, makes you understand how powerless you are without the powerups. Camera change and control change really are a pain in the *** ! Loved it, even it become really hard in the end.

Nice use of the theme and the graphics look good. I think it may have just been me, but the controls were off for some reason.

angelnm 2018-12-05 15:21

Very cool!! Every downgrade change the way of play..

And half of that time was spent on waiting for elevators. Yeah, they were way too slow. Just having to wait for things is never fun. Probably best way would be to make them go lot faster when the player isn't on and a bigger delay on each end. The elevators sometimes also straight up refused to take me with them so I had to keep walking on them to stay on the ride.

Losing those all those skills felt a bit much but I guess that was the point. Didn't even try the reverse one because that would have screwed with my brain too much. The air mobility one was the second one I sacrificed and it was just right at the end I realized what it actually did (the final bit where you had to go left). Not sure if you explained it in the help section but at least I forgot it if you did. Would have been better to squeeze the descriptions to the selection screen. The choices could have been made with keyboard also, not too intuitive to need to switch between mouse and keyboard for those choices only.

The vision sacrifice was a huge annoyance for a first time player. Had to make so many jumps of faith because of it. The only thing that didn't seem like much of a issue to lose was the floatiness one. It was the first to go and never missed it, I think it actually felt better without it.

Dunno why but I loved that landing pose. It had that mega man jumping like "YEEEAAH" attitude. It was hindered a bit by that weird jittering before actually hitting the ground and the slowdown while jumping forwards and trying to keep going but still cool. The music was cool also, obviously could have used some sound effects to go with it.

Anyways, good job and welcome to LD!

*Some things I especially liked:* that you can fall at the very beginning and it's not over, it just takes some patience to get back up! (and that seems to repeat through the game, I really like the layers and spacing, plus it fits the universe settings when it's so... vertical); the markers for all moving platforms (especially needed with limited vision); the green arrow always showing the direction; that extra layer of stars that gave the background more depth. :) And of course, how well it fits the LD theme!

I did not manage to win the game yet, but I've really enjoyed trying. I am not very patient but it felt like the game kept on giving me many chances. Oh, also, I never knew how much I would miss the ability to jump "backwards"!

It's a great game. :)

Nice game! I like the music and the challenge of this game. Good job!^^

ninnec 2018-12-06 03:58

Hi, I really liked the music of the game. It is a bit difficult as people say but you definitely got the spirit of theme down!

100th-coin 2018-12-06 04:02

Quite the challenge! great work.

beats 2018-12-06 09:16

That reverse jump really gets you, nice use of jimbos dad as thumbnail

neowhoru 2018-12-06 11:06

It is a very funny idea - gameplay is good (sometimes it jitter when you fall).

icehottet 2018-12-06 17:27

Love it! Great job! I love the different heights as if a consolation for messing up

shubart 2018-12-11 23:35

Excellent. Love the game. So for Music and mood. Thank you

sthor726 2018-12-12 00:01

Nice Work! nice interpretation of the theme

dynamictim 2018-12-12 00:09

Nice incorporation of the theme. Only thing I didn't really like was the landing lag.

folex70 2018-12-13 21:30

nice entry! congrats, 5/5 game!

bbaf 2018-12-19 16:23

Good game with interesting mechanics. But! Putting a sacrifice trigger straight after the checkpoint is EVIL  Especially, when the game doesn't reset you downgrades and ask you to remove something else considering that you have failed 10 seconds ago.

The rest is cool, have a nice voting !
