Managed to make the first "sacrifice jump" in 2nd level, but died after that. Really wanted a checkpoint there :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:
I think using commands as controls is a fine mechanic to improve on. Would you think it would be in-context to stack two commands? maybe like "jump; stop"

Really liked the idea of using commands to control the character. Interesting use of the theme to sacrifice the other blocks. However, the commands did make the game frustrating to control sometimes and the the collisions of the box could be a bit unpredictable.
Great concept though so will be keeping an eye on you post-jam version!

I really like the idea. I played this game on my old computer, so I really wanted to slow down the graphics (what is not possible). Because I can't, when I type it takes some time to appear on the console.
Talking about graphics, I don't like it at all. All your models are simple, It wouldn't be hard to make it feel nice and clean. And the console doesn't look like one, it's just a text box.
Oh, and I really wanted a **restart** command, that would be useful.
Overall, great job!
I quite like the idea, but during the first run I thought it was a quick-typing context  Then I realized that you can anticipate the commands and it's easier to play. I only finished the second level though. Graphics are quite nice, but not coherent overall: the background has its own style, so do the player/friends and traps/yellow-ish-blocks.
I think a tutorial is missing, or maybe just hints here and there. +1 for the restart.
Good job! :)
PS: "syop", noooooooooooooooooo, dead.
@raziyya Yeah we know how you feel about the commands, we tried to make levels based around this hard idea of having to type in to move which is why we designed simplistic levels, but we will try look into maybe seeing if there's a less frustrating way of controlling the player with text input. Looking forward to seeing you in the future!
@zanagi Thanks for the comment, will definitely try it out to see how it works in terms of game play.
@zanagi Thanks for your feedback, I'm currently uploading a quick video if you're curious on how the rest of the game plays out. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R4otxOLvN-I
Also regarding the command stacking, I feel that it would be hard to implement anything other than the jump -> stop.
@pxlucasf I can't believe that we overlooked something so basic as a restart command, as there's some time left in the jam I might just quickly fix that.
I agree with your comment on the overall art, we got fustrated at modelling & texturing so left it with placeholders and focussed on gameplay.
We'll iron out all of these things post-jam though, and thanks alot for your detailed critical feedback!
@thomas-lacroix Glad to see you enjoyed the game. The levels are definitly not setup as a decent difficulty curve which needs to be addressed post-jam. That restart command is getting added ASAP, it's crazy to think we missed something like that out, although I'll just blame sleep deprivation :joy:
Also, 'syop' and 'jmup' have also brought me to tears testing this game...

The music is very a sad but fits the dark theme. Made it to the second level, but was able to the second jump on after this first red kill zone. I realy like puzzle games like greyout and it reminds me about it. And a bit of typing of the dead. Well done, it is a nice game :).
The idea of typing commands is not something new, but its all time a pleasure to see how games can be designed with that, the command menu is also one of the coolest ones with this concept. Wasnt able to end the game, its a bit hard. A tutorial will just make it easier to understand i guess? (or maybe i'm just to bad ahah). Thanks for the experience.

OK, nice proposition, I find the idea original. I miss art and music during my experience.
@carbonara Yeah the learning curve at the moment is completely off :joy: Hopefully once we've re-done the physics side of things we can redo the levels in a way to make it less jarring. Thanks for trying out our game :D
@clerg0 I'll look into the music problem for future versions. Thanks for playing & leaving feedback
Good job on the mechanics you have in place! I think I would have liked to see a little more tie in to the theme of sacrifice; it was definitely there, but I would love to see y'all get really creative with it. :D
I also look forward to seeing some updated graphics. There's a certain mood to this game that has so much potential. Adding just a little bit of narrative through cohesive sound, music, and graphics would really make this game shine.
@johara-dutton Thanks for the feedback! Neither one of us are artsy people so it was definitly something we stuggled with for the jam, glad to see you like the mood & mechanic :D

Challenging game. I included it in my compilation video series of games from the Ludum Dare, if you’d like to take a look :) https://youtu.be/qbVCRHP5Rcg
This could turn into a pretty nice game about coding ... or learning how to code
The game design was great, but didn't inform enough about what to do. Wasn't sure if I were stuck or just doing it wrong. It's well-made though!
Really liked the idea! Controlling it with commands gives a nice old school feel
Hey FizzyCo! Thanks for submitting your game for me to play on my livestream!
