Greetings Citizen Dave-O-DBL-1! For your excellent contribution to Alpha Complex's monthly happiness to brain scrubbing ratio as mandated by Initiative 58B-3J35-S34682.1, you have been awarded the Hero of Our Complex Award!
For any Citizens that are not familiar with Alpha Complex, it's the very excellent setting in the equally excellent tabletop roleplaying game Paranoia. Because Citizen Dave-O-DBL-1's game is entirely set in that world, an understanding of Alpha Complex and Paranoia as a whole greatly helps to make this game a FUN experience! Remember, happiness is mandatory. Unhappiness is treason. Treason is punishable by death.
@drevilbrain The Computer asked me to tell you that **[REDACTED]**, **[REDACTED]**, and **[REDACTED]** are prohibited. So you should immediately **[REDACTED]** in the **[REDACTED]** with a **[REDACTED]**. Failure to do so is treason and punishable by death.
I hope that makes things clearer.

Very interesting game. I included it in my compilation video series of games from the Ludum Dare, if you’d like to take a look :) https://youtu.be/1t-6rdylBrI
Not sure if it's a bug or if I'm missing something but I can't seem to give the cake to anyone (I assume it was for the purple one but I think I tried everyone several times with no results).
@silkworm-sweatshop You have to find the High-Programmer. He spends his time in the Ultraviolet zone. The Ultraviolet zone is white with a violet accent(Like his jumpsuit). But of course you don't have access to the Ultraviolet zone, and therein lies the problem. It's possible, just search for any *unusual* features. :8ball:
Stuff I love about this: kinda 2d characters in a 3d world and the sounds when text is shown
Nice take on the theme. I also like what you did with the 2D sprites on 3D environment. Reminds me of the old days of Doom
Cool game! At first I got stuck in the same place as silkworm, but figured it out eventually (fun puzzle!). After that no luck tho. It said "the end?" which certainly seemed to imply it wasn't actually the end, but I wasn't able to find anything more, even with the blue clearance. :p
Unfortunately I was also experiencing some motion sickness at that point (which I'm not very susceptible to) so I more or less had to turn off. :( Mouse look would've been nice.
Super interested in the text-to-speech because it sounds like you set it to a different language than English, and then had it try to read English, haha.
Really like the æsthetic of it. The contently smiling faces of the people were possibly even more unnerving than the eyes everywhere. And the fact that they all looked the same played very nicely into the whole thing about there popping up "new yous" after the "old yous" die. 👀
@ava-skoog Thanks for your comments. The question mark ending is due to there actually being three endings.
**SPOILER** _Following the computer's wishes gets you Blue clearance(Computer wins), but if you do things a little differently you can also get Ultraviolet clearance(You win) or even destroy the computer(Computer loses)._ **END SPOILER**
@oddballdave I actually managed to destroy the computer. Pity that it just crashes the game without a cutscene. I hope I didn't sequence break or anything XD
@themadprogramer Well if you're going to destroy the computer then everything will crash. Joking aside, the intention was to have all the computer screens go off and have all the doors open after you destroy the computer, but I ran out of time and a hard quit seemed like a fitting end. I also didn't have time to make a model/texture for the computers circuits hence it just being a black space where you can destroy them.

Alpha Complex is probably my favourite setting for anything ever, so seeing this game put a huge smile on my face.
The multiple endings was a nice touch - would have been nice to have "more" of an ending in each case, but pretty cool all the same.
The movement took a bit of getting used to - very old school, rather than WASD & mouselook like many games use now. Also felt a bit "floaty" Not a deal breaker by any means.
I got stuck a few times but overall enjoyed being in the world. The creepy characters always looking at me were a nice touch, I felt like the odd one out. Good job :man:

You did a great job of capturing the dark humor of Paranoia. Makes me want to play a full 3D version now. :)

This is a really interesting game! The controls were a bit too sensitive but did not hold the game back at all.
