Great fun game I would recommend a pause menu so you can close it in game
Foon → Ludum Dare Explorer → LD43 → Overpopulation

Hello you two!
I really liked the idea and how it fits the theme so well. I guess I'm just a big fan of dystopian games in general. ;)
The human model turned out really well I think, and the posters on the back wall give the environment a nice touch. I feel like you could have improved the user experience a little. For example, I thought it was confusing that the font size in the report changed depending on the amount of content - made it just a little bit harder to parse every time. Also, being able to view the guidelines while a new person was walking in would have been nice. Especially at the beginning when you didn't have the rules memorized yet, that would have proven very useful.
@bj-pucci Oh yeah. For now you can click windows button and close :) Were glad you liked it
A very interesting game! I love the 3D animation of the characters, it seems VERY fluid. I also loved the details in the environment, including the flicker particles on the light overhead; they helped to create an interesting mood. The menu and text cards at the start felt a bit dry, and contrasted the polish of the 3D elements. Some of the character traits were also a bit strange, as the second person I got had "never committed a crime" and "Attempted murder" and "Burnt down a house", but I can understand the difficulty in getting those complex webs of conditions ordered. I loved the papers please inspiration (that is a personal favorite of mine), but the execution of the gameplay felt a bit misdirected. The instructional card indicated to sacrifice all criminals, but all of the people seemed to have some form of criminal history. There also didn't appear to be any win/lose conditions. Also, your credits implied that there was sound, but I didn't hear any (I was on WebGL version). Overall, the graphics were very polished, but the core gameplay could have done with some work.
Nice game! Good idea and art
@justcamh thanks for the feedback. Yes we had some sentences and some of them didnt work together. I also got inspiration from papers please. The last day we worked on it we tried to make good gameplay and polish. I dont know what is causing the sound glitch. But overall thanks for the feedback
@apace Thanks for the feedback. We glad you liked the game and the feel. We used some times to make some good sentences. As for the UI we used the best fit option(In unity) so the text changed size. And the guideline idea was good, cause when you know it all you dont need. So we didnt think much about it. And thanks once again :)
@daniel-abeleira thanks
A fun game :) Feels like Papers Please with a better story. The light flickering was a nice touch that really helped to give the game a moody apocalyptic feel. A small bug I noticed is that's it's possible for a character to have the same trait twice.
@james-leib Thanks for the feedback. Yes we did see te bug with 2 sentences but we didnt have time to fix it. And it was not game breaking. But thanks :)
Nice game. The only problem is that its too addicting
@yush Haha! Thanks for liking the game :)
Really good game. I would add more human models and animation of sacrifice. Well done!
@aleksander Thanks :)
Nice game, maybe add some form of winning or losing and fix a few bugs,but overall good game
Nicely made game, very enjoyable to play and basically shoots for being almost as atmospheric as Papers Please. Good Job!
i liked this game very much! the idea reminds me of a book i read. it could use some audio though. some static radio music, som footsteps or even some mumberling when they are talking. rember! audio is half the game ;) You should definitely contenu on this.
@game-coder28 Thanks for the feedback, there is some endings wich you can say win or lose :) @binarylynx Thank you very much :) @jannick-larsen Thanks you for the feedback. We have audio in the game but it seems like it isnt working in the WebGl version
@lausemand okay i'll try to download it and redo the rating on audio :)
@jannick-larsen Ok nice
The idea reminded me a bit of "Papers Please" (but I haven't actually played that game but I imagine it was something along these lines). I found it easy to sacrifice some people that had spent 15 years in prison for gang rape and child murdering =) The walk animation was nice and altough I'm a big fan of low poly art I would have liked something rather than the same "naked" humanoid without any coloring but I understand considering the time constraints. In a game like this where there is some diversity of people I would still have recommended trying to go for some variations on the characters still. Clever idea though, let's hope it doesn't become reality in 182 years :)
@imphenzia Thanks for the feedback. We kept the same color for the people because then we needed to make girl and man models. We were also inspired by papers please. But thanks for the feedback :)
(I actually found out that you made parking spaces. And i downloaded it on android. Nice game!)
@lausemand - you're welcome. I can see why you would keep it "anonymous" graphic wise. Maybe for a future version? =) Yes, Parking Spaces was my LD42 game that turned into my first Android release game. Hope you like it :)
@imphenzia Yeah i actually think i would expand the game further if i dont have a project to make.
I liked the concept but the fact that the profiles are generated randomly really take me out of the game. Not only because of the bugs that create (like two time the same line in one profile) but also because the choices were rarely hard to make. Moreover, it's a pity that the end came from nowhere, if my character was loosing his mental health I would have liked to see it.
@mathis-bressaud yeah its limitid what we could do, so we randomly generated it. But thanks for the feedback :)
cool concept, innovative presentation of that concept :) good work
Concept of the game was really awesome.. Great game !
good concept but i want to skip all walk in walk out sessions. if there will be an option for this, it will be great. and another thing with this type of game i want to see consequences of my actions, there will be many alternative endings and you can show me why that ending comes, from which of my decisions etc. with that type of explanation this will be a good story based game. anyway good effort :)
@isaque-picao-sanches Thanks :) @sashbros Thanks :) @wheatleyscience Yes the walking takes a it of time, i myself thinks it gives some athmosphere but different people have different thoughts :) And an explenation could be good so you now what to improve. But thanks for the feedback :)
Good concept, very reminiscent of Papers, Please.
I kinda wish the people would come in from a straight line, then head to the right if spared and to the left if sacrificed. I think it would give the game more visual impact.
I think some of the profiles were funny, too. Like the same guy having "works for law enforcement" and "Is a gang member". Also, a lot of people were complete psychopaths!
I coudln't tell if my choices had in impact on my ending or not. The ending I got didn't reflect what I was feeling at all, so that didn't go so smooth.
Overall, nice work!
@kloscunha Thanks for the feedback. We know we needed some feedback on the different endings so you could improve. If we updated the visuals it could also be nice. But thanks for the feedback :)
Congrats on the game! The character model and animation is really nice and fluid. There's a moody atmosphere to the whole thing that fits the gameplay nicely. Unfortunately I had to play it without sound in a browser because there isn't a mac version. I guess my critique would be that it is a bit TOO similar to Papers, Please, but without the moral dilemmas that Papers, Please present. The "children are bad" criteria is very interesting, as it goes against what people are usually taught to think. Solid entry though, good job!
I like so much this game,it has a good story but: sometimes in the record there are 2 equals things and in "selled drugs" I think it's "sold drugs"
@syverlauritz Thanks for the feedback. Yes we didnt make a mac version...I dont know why. But were glad you liked it. Thanks :)
@grifone Thanks for the feedback. Yeah we didnt do so you couldnt get 2 of the same. But thanks :)
Definetly interesting, though sometimes I couldn't take it seriously when someone had never commited a crime, spent 5 years in prison and burned a house down. That one was a good laugh though :P
@nanda Thanks for the feedback. And maybe the "Never commited a crime" was a bad sentence....
Thoroughly enjoyed your game! Fantastic concept. The ending is so sad tho, I am guessing I got to the end considering I went through a window. Great job!!
@phanxgames Thanks. And i can say you got the suicide ending. But theres still 4 others :)
Interesting game, I liked "Papers, Please" so this one was right up my alley. What I found a little irritating is that I never knew what impacted my standing with the government and "the gangs", a bit more player feedback could go a long way. Here's my playthough, in case you're curious: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uZuUnksM0WM
@philstrahl Yes we know that the player should have gotten more feedback. But when you Are a developer, you know it all so we didnt think much about it. But were glad you played it :)
