Really funny idea! I included it in my compilation video series of the Ludum Dare 42 compilation video series, if you’d like to take a look. :) https://youtu.be/wNBCLkIQclA

That was fun! Highest score I got was 20. Some of the far away piles didn't seem as relevant. You really get a sense for the "running out of space" in the final 30 seconds when the game transitions from "run back and forth quickly" to "stack the books efficiently".

Fun concept. Saw some people on twitter talking about book shelf ideas, this is definitely the best execution of that concept Ive seen.

Awesome game! I had a lot of fun with this. My best score was 25! I'm pretty proud of myself.

I enjoyed this immensely. I did feel like the walking could be tighter like when I stop walking forward I wanted it to stop but it took a tiny bit longer than I expected (maybe it was intentional to have a stop distance?). This was a "novel" idea and really well-done. Who knew stacking books in a shelf could be fun.

I have seen a lot of games in this LD doing in the same direction, I would be honest with you all games of this kind lack a goal or a skill that the player could get better at. Putting stuffs into something just requires time, you don't really get better at it. What I can suggest is that you can snap the book on the side, and books are of different sizes, so if you say have a book of 20cm, then next 15cm, then 20cm again, then you for sure loose the space in between two 20-cm books. Something like that, I hope you get my idea. But there's a catch: if there is nothing to be better at, then the experience of doing the thing needs to be satisfying, and here picking up books, putting them on the shelf isnt really satisfying to what I see. If you go for the latter, made sure it is very very polished. I think I have seen one game in this LD that does stacking and does a good job at making it satisfying, if I can find it again, I'll let you know.

Hey, you can select auto resize in Embed options, at the editing page of your Itch.io game. In this case the full screen button will not be clipped :smirk: Game looks good, but i think that the game play should be more engaging

Put 16 books on the shelf. Nice game! Pretty hard to put books on the upper shelf.

There's an issue where books can pop out of the back of the shelf. I liked the vibe but I would have liked some sort of rising challenge. Had a hard time with the mouse sensitivity, it would be nice if it was adjustable.

Good game, but my head spun:)

Fun game. The physics worked pretty good in my opinion and the gameplay was fun. I like the graphics as well. The music was good but got a little repetetive, or maybe it was just me not bothering to turn down the volume and kept it super loud. Anyways great game!

Liked the sounds and a the look and feel of the books falling out of the sky and landing with a satisfying thud and slight bounce. The gameplay was really straightforward, I got to 17 books on the shelf. It was a bit hard to tell which book I was targeting, I tended to spam the mouse button until any book popped into my hand.

Simple but interesting concept ^^ It might be cool to add other items, like big or heavy ones that bring more points, and small or light ones that would bring less points... something like that. Also I really like you title screen!! Nice work
