Very Slay the Spire -esque which isn't a bad thing. Enjoyed it very much. Was at the start confused about wether the HP bar is belonging to my character or the enemy.
Foon → Ludum Dare Explorer → LD42 → Gone in dark cave

Love the artwork for the game, has a really distinct style that is really pleasing to look at and makes everything clear.
The game is also pretty fun, though sounds and music are sorely lacking. The mechanics are really good, and the game feels surprisingly fair in its difficulty.
Great work!
Even if at first the concept could be a lil more clear. The game fit just well. Mechanics are pretty good, but should be a lil more clean in the design (in my own opinion to make it easier understandble).
But very good gameplay to play and replay for many hours with improovement. Keep it up pal !
The game it self feels a bit to simple, yet its hard to understands what going on. Lacking sound effects, but i like the art
I enjoyed this game a lot, gameplay-wise is very curated, not very intuitive at the start, but once you get the grasp of it is very good, art style is nice and icons are all good
I didn't understand the game at first and was looking for a health bar for my character but suddenly I understood and I like the concept. The art is nice, but the enemies is a little hard to see. The game would be a lot better with some sounds, just some basic hit and damage sound would go a long way.
Okay, it was quite original having your life materilaised in your inventory. It is quite nice and interesting, really. The boss battle was really hard, kept healing himself and couldn't get a grasp of healing. Don't know if healing potions before healing three spots just cancel healing potions. It is interesting but few things kept me from winning. Anyway good game and good idea, well done.
Card Inventory Warrior! Very special gameplay and great for the theme. I really enjoy it. XD
With some more love put into the graphics this game has all the makings of a hit.
I really enjoyed the gameplay, and the difficulty was balanced enough to be edge-of-my-seat exciting.
Nice work! Really enjoyed this.
Interesting concept... since this is a relatively slow paced game some fast music will help build up the theme. Graphics can be improved to identify each power separately.
Ooh a card game, haven't played one of these yet this jam. There are some really interesting mechanics on display here, well executed and seemingly well balanced too. My biggest complaint would be the user interface and graphics need a lot of work, it's just not always clear what is going on. A good place to start would be with choosing an appropriate font, and making sure that the user interface elements are cleanly laid out on screen so that the important information isn't being covered up. The game is also a little wordy, and with some well thought out iconography you could easily get away with less text to read taking up valuable screen space. You're clearly dedicated to becoming a better developer. I hope you can learn a lot from this experience and come back for the next jam with an even better game!
The graphics were grwat but you can just spam random cards and if your lucky you win but great job a lot of content the only thing missing was a fitting audio(not judgeing on this tho becasue my one game havent got any audio)
This is a good game. I played it for a while and beat a few bosses.
The first time I played, I didn't really understand. I thought I couldn't see my health. And then I died. Around half way through the second playthrough I realised the effect of healing and what it does in the game. After that it was really fun.
The downside is that each encounter feels pretty repetitive. Even though there are different monsters it is all kind of a grind. I liked chaining damage combos to get a big hit.
With a few more actions you can do this would be a great game.
it's fun, a bit hard to get a grasp on the mechanics but after a while it's easier. Great job!
I think this may have worked better as a turn based game. I agree I was a little confused with what was going on and sort of was just clicking on random cards. Was my life solely based on if I filled up my inventory? The graphics were nice and some sound effects would put it over the top. This game can easily be expanded upon. I did like that the layout was random.
@dk5000p @meatpudding thanks for testing the game ! Their is no traditional health in the game. You can see the board as your stamina, every hit you take and every thing you do consume stamina ( free space on the board). if the board is full, you are exhausted and die. Health potion ( bandage, cataplasm) remove card from the board.
I had fun! I was able to get a score of 1552. I had to play for a while before I could get any new cards, but the new cards like heal x 5 or attack x 4 help a lot. I was a bit confused on how things were cleared from the board- every card had a timer, but sometimes the heal would remove them anyway? Does the timer on the cards just determine the priority? Also, if I was poisoned, it affected my choice of cards, but it felt like even if I used antidote sometimes the "you are poisoned" card would still popup. Maybe having a call out like "current status: poisoned" so players know there's still some cards they need to clear from the board or so. good job, keep up the good work!
@aeveis thanks for the feedback, really appreciated ! Getting new card is key to win the game and yes the healx5 and attack x4 are powerful. To answer your questions, Cards get removed from the board at the end of the timer but heal card remove them instantly. So heal remove wounds but also give you back your card. This mechanic isn't well explained but key for powerful combos. The poison is a bit tricky i admit. Antidote remove Poison from the board. If you have some in your deck, you have to play them to be able to remove it. I like the idea of poison is polluting your deck but the way antidote work is not clear. I will have to rework it. Thanks again !
