cool

It'd be pretty cool if you did it to the beat of the music, but other then that, pretty simple dodge, move, barrel roll your way to victory. Nice job!

Cool game! Took me four tries to finish. Perhaps a little too easy, but challenging enough to keep one entertained for a couple of minutes. Beautiful ending by the way!

That was really enjoyable! i like the overall feel of the game, the mood, the graphics, the funny messages in the bottom. I can clearly see some potential in this game to make it more interesting. After a while it gets quite repetitive, but i can imagine that easily being fixed with some scaling difficulty or more elements. Keep up the good work!

Good one! There is still a lot of potential in this game. I like the art style.

Hey the meteors were quite the challenge, considering that they almost made me jump out of my seat sometimes. Although very simple, the graphics made the game look very authentic and somewhat believable. Comparable to your game, mine probably has one instance that also provides some suspense for the player. Very excellent game you made here.

this game is very nice idea :p

my team and me, we wanted to try a game with this interpretation of "running out of space" but found nothing interesting, you did !

Good idea but maybe too easy, I succeed on my first attempt without real challenge. Sad :/

decent idea falling out of space unto earth, i'm not really a fan that i see the meteors spawning, i'd suggest putting them quite a bit further and maybe having them fly-in then a bit faster. Additionally it's a bit jarring when the center meteors fly straight into the camera .. not sure the best way to fix that

Also for the controls possible idea to maybe auto recenter? and have you hold down the keys the go to that point? since a 9x grid could make that work easily.

still good work though, art is nice and the music fits really well :)

Very nice, the idae is perfect and the audio is simple but very good, the graphics between 2d and 3d is goob, I love voxel and your voxel texture is very successful, thank you for this wonder game ^^

First off, I don't think escape should take you back to the title screen. I pressed it in an attempt to pause after enter didn't work and it was annoying to immediately lose everything.

Early on I felt a little out of the game. I didn't realise I was playing in 3d and instead thought I just had really jump space shooter controls but I quickly got used to the grid system. My first issue is that the warnings felt more distracting than helpful; even though that's obviously not the case, having them pop up so early turns it more into a memorization game than a dodging one, it can get quite confusing to have another warning before the object incoming has even struck. This was exaggerated when multiple warnings flashed on top of each other.

When restarting I also noticed there was quite a lot of very slow fading between screens which I think could have been lessened a little, else it makes any input feel slightly unresponsive.

All issues aside, I actually got quite into the game on the second play-through. The atmosphere combined with the tension of permadeath and simplistic and therefor clear method of progress all combined to create an experience that was quite absorbing, I think the space theme suits it well. I zoned out and died at around 90% mind which was quite unexpected, I think having the hp bar be a straight bar rather than segmented bar can be a little misleading and unnecessary given there's only 1 type of damage.

Couple of ideas for improving. Having a few more sound effects would have taken the immersion even further, I felt the game was crying out for some form of "woosh" sound effect when the meteoroids go by.

Secondly, I liked the feeling of progression and the occasional dialogue helped that; and I think taking it a step further would help the game a lot. One example would be the earth getting bigger (unless it did and I didn't notice it in which case perhaps make it scale more). More so I felt a little more could have been done with the dialogue; because of it and the atmosphere I felt a strong intrigue to keep going. This was lessened quite a bit when the lines of "humor" came out. Humor is very subjective, true, but like with games, even if subjective there are factors that can make it critically better or worse. Admittedly I'm not expert on humor by any means but it felt quite "lol random" here which was very out of place IMO. It would have been nice if these lines built on the core themes present some more instead.

Whilst I have nitpicks, I quite liked what was here for it's strong atmosphere emphasized by it's progress mechanics; it'd be cool to see it worked on some more.

Simple, yet effective. The music loop was on the short side and got a little repetitive after a while, but it really fit the mood of the game. It was fun to see the large barrages of meteors zoom by. I think a little more design in actual patterns for the game would go a long way - trying to force the player to dance around the grid a specific way instead of the random it felt like it was. The menu was a little on the slow side, but the game felt pretty good. Nicely done!

Great stuff! A focused idea, well executed - that's how you do Ludum Dare! The art style is really well executed, too.

Some more sound effects, and maybe a few more things to hold visual interest, would really make this game pop - but I had good fun with it as it is.

Nice game! Just tweak the pace a little and make it more challenging. I had fun though, it's only the first thing that comes to my mind to boost the game. Good work!

Cool game, y'all, I actually managed to complete the mission :). I think that the game could be a little bit harder (maybe the asteroids could take more health) since I managed to finish it in the first try. Other than this, it was actually a pretty fun game. Good job! :)

guladam 2018-08-30 14:33

Yaaay, I managed to land on Earth for the 3rd try! Nice game, chilly music, cool artstyle, simple yet fun :) Not much to complain about, awesome job! ^_^

synfoniz 2018-09-03 11:00

Very nice game ! I love the graphics, the music and the concept, who respect the theme well. Maybe you can create an 'infinity mod", where you just have to survive the longest you can but overall, I really enjoy the game. :)
