Wow! You got so much done, I'm really impressed! The game world is actually pretty big, and the mechanics are really tight. I got hung up a few times on floor tiles, but they were easy enough to jump over once I figured out what was going on. Solid entry!

It's really fun! Good job! That you can control the boomerang it's just great! :)

Very good. The boomerang mechanic is done very well and controlling it feels very polished. Platforming is ok but there is some clunckiness and hitboxes feel unnecessarily large. You throw quite hard obstacles to the player - and maybe too quickly. I think many players will get frustrated in the beginning.

Graphics are great, although I did not really get the theme here. Sure, there are two graphics styles being mashed together but that does not seem particularly interesting or surprising.

Overall, nice game and you get huge bonus points for the boomerang.

I enjoyed this, well done! I agree with many others that the platforming and boomerang felt good. The art was fantastic. I would have loved to personally had seen some gameplay tie ins with the theme instead of just artistic, but I had fun nonetheless.

The fact that your boomerang can miss you and fly behind you is really awesome, but i kept getting stuck on the ground

Great Game! I like how the controls feel.

Awesomely done!!!

Well your game could be nice but honestly it's sooo frustrating.

First why can we go either left or right from the start ? And why is the right path so damn difficult when I only started the game ? >< So I went left and went aaaall the way down in the cavern. And here, after passing so many damn crocodiles, you're telling me that I don't have the pieces and I have to go all the way back ? x_x

And when I had the game over I didn't find a way to start over so I had to refresh the page :/

Well nice work anyway, but try to considere more your player next time :p

I think you guys did well! The idea of combining pixel and hand drawn graphics is interesting. The big problem here is gameplay, it just felt very slapdash. The controls are kinda weird and hard to control, while being able to control the boomerang is nice it makes almost no difference in game. The only real impact that mechanic has was slightly curving up to hit some of the flying enemies. The player also doesn't even throw it to far, fighting enemies should feel really fun, instead it feels more like a choir in this game. I think you could expand on these mechanics a lot more and have a much better game, for example if the boomerang could interact with the environment some how (like grab coins or pixels) that could be really cool! I think the visual effects in this game were really cool but it didn't make up for the fact that the game just wasn't fun. Bug wise it seems the crocodiles kill hit box turns on a little early causing in a lot of frustrating deaths, as well many other people have pointed out how weird and buggy the terrain is. In parts of the cave section textures seemed to flicker, this could be caused by you having anti aliasing on in Unity so turning that off might fix that issue. I think if you guys focus more on gameplay first and then graphics second that would result in a much better game!

I think it's pretty good overall. The gameplay is a bit too hard too early. Being able to throw the boomerang farther would help a lot. I got stuck early on trying to get across the crocodiles.

Audio and atmosphere are great. I really like the background music.

For a game made in 72 hours this has a lot of graphical polish (considering the intentional clashing styles!), but I have to echo the rest of the reviews that say the platforming mechanics could use some work. Quite often I'd end up running place and have to jump my way around...

I liked the boomerang, though. Have a small degree of control made landing jumping hits on moving enemies very satisfying!

It's actually quite nice and fun to play. I like the graphics and audio... reminds me a bit of Mario and Pitfall. I did play a few games starting both left and right. Congrats on a fine entry... this has potential if you decide to keep working on it.

Interesting entry. The approach to the theme is quite weird, I don't think these are incompatible, they just look kinda bad together and it doesn't seem like they change anything from a mechanical standpoint.

The gameplay is okay, the fighting is kinda awkward, but overall the layout and level design is well done and challenging. I died a lot, and I appreciate, that there was an animation for that. The boomerang is frankly the most interesting aspect of the game, I wish it was expanded a bit more, because it's so much fun!

Really phenomenal art. Loved controlling the boomerang. Got caught on a few invisible objects but that didnt' keep me from progressing.
