I enjoyed the music, it made trying to figure out the game possible instead of leaving quickly. I liked the idea of the game, but the UI felt a little cluttered and the movement of the characters wasn't entirely clear at first. In the end (and maybe this was the point) I just had to find the right order to push into the people and hope that luck got me to the end.

Nice and simple. This is the best kind of jam game. Exploring a new interesting game mechanic with clear graphical representation.

biterkid 2018-04-23 03:19

@john-darrington Aww the instructions are just below the game frame, had no time for a tutorial :x Thanks for the feedback [:

@Poorwill Thanks I really appreciate your kind words

Very nice game. The graphics are nice and the game mechanic was interesting but simple.

I did find the elemental system a bit confusing though, especially fire beating water and thunder beating fire.

Overall though a very nice and simple game.

biterkid 2018-04-23 03:32

Thanks @Potondo ! I had a hard time thinking about the better element order, like: water > fire > rock > thunder > water I feel weird about fire beating rock as well :s Maybe I need to come up with other elements lol

Fun game with interesting and simple mechanics. Graphics are simple but nice and clear. However, it's a bit confusing at first. Maybe a short tutorial/explanation could make it even better. Overall a great game.

biterkid 2018-04-23 15:08

@SMILEY-4 Glad you liked it! Time was not enough for tutorial lol

nash 2018-04-23 17:05

Even though the game is a bit confusing first, it was still a nice and simple experience. Mechanics fit for this art style very well and the idea is quite fresh.

I would have hoped some easier start or a tutorial of some sort. Still, a good and charming game!

biterkid 2018-04-23 17:34

Thanks @Nash I'll try to overcome that issue next time [:

Fun concept with solid simple mechanics. My input would be simply to defeat elemental enemies with the same element. It would make it easier to pick up.

biterkid 2018-04-24 11:06

Hey @achebit thanks for playing my game! That's a good advice, I'll keep in mind.

hs-dave 2018-04-24 15:01

nice little game! it was frustrating with no diagonal movement sometimes but it kept me trying! a way to bring up the elemental chart in game by holding a key would be great, I had to keep scrolling down to the bottom of the page to remind myself.

biterkid 2018-04-24 15:24

I'm glad you liked it @hs-dave , next time I won't leave the help screen for the last hour, promisse! xD

Very cool concept and an overall great entry. While small in scope, it seems complete and novel, making it a great game jam game.

My biggest gripe is that the randomness seemed unfair at times. Getting rooms with only 2 or 3 guys made for easy escapes and elements-hording. Getting a few 4-guy rooms in a row basically seemed like an instant-death, unless I'm missing something. My high score was only 18 lol

Overall, very thought provoking and cool though!

biterkid 2018-04-27 10:41

Hey, 18 is not a bad score. I played it lots of times and only beat it twice.

Sometimes I get the same feeling when I got to face 4 enemies, but also some of these times it's just a matter of choosing the better side to move. For instance, getting yourself to kill an enemy even when you have many of it's elements just for the sake of survival.

But now that you said it, I feel like trying to balance the spawn based on the amount of elements the player have.

Thanks a lot for your feedback!

von-vista 2018-04-28 15:56

Uhm, I really do not understand how to play the game so I basically just derped around, but I got a score of 5 so that's good, hahaha, but I can see the concept, the graphics and music are matched, and overall, eventhough I suck at this, I still find it enjoyable, great job!

biterkid 2018-04-28 16:04

Hey @von-vista , Sorry about the lack of tutorial. All the information needed to play is at the game's page, right under the game frame.

Thanks for playing and for the feedback [:

Neat concept, there were some interesting decisions I had to make with the resources and the elements. I feel the RNG should be toned down in places, and the rules could be made simpler to be easier to understand. Simple but nice graphics and music.

flaterectomy 2018-04-29 16:14

A pretty interesting concept, but I kept having to check what element beats the next one. With some UI work, this could be pretty cool.

I enjoyed the simple graphics and music/sfx. Nice one!

mshopf 2018-04-29 19:20

Nice interesting gameplay. I have some difficulties with the order of the elements - just like others had here. However, I don't think this is a problem of the game, rather about the ruleset it is based upon.

Nice graphics, all in all a cool entry.

biterkid 2018-04-30 23:14

@patrickgh3 @Flaterectomy @mshopf Thank you so much for playing my game and for the feedback!
